Help a girl out

Usually I just scan the Virtue name watch for anything that may provide useful but I am an impatient person so I call upon all ye city of hero addicts to help me out.

I am trying to create a FF/NRG Defender but I am severely struggling on names, as I always have when I've ever attempted a energy hero.

I would love any and all suggestions to what may or may not even be available and i figured telling you a tiny bit about this character might help spark something great.

So this character is a doctor, by day at least and while volunteering to help out (medically wise) at a dig site in Egypt she came in contact with an artifact. When she placed her hand on the small object a pulse ran through her body and she collapsed. This artifact was claimed to have fallen from the stars and when she'd awoken there was an anomaly in her system, thus giving her the ability to use light energy in both defensive and offensive ways.

I am still working on the story but it gives you a general idea on how her powers came to be.

I also have two costume concepts in mind, which are here

though I've yet to decide on which will be my option as i like the names and costumes to sync well.

Please, can someone help me

Is this tied to a generic spirit/artifact? Or do you envision it being wrapped up with a known figure from Egyption mythology?

At the moment I'm not to sure, I'm thinking of it leading towards being connected to Egyptian mythology but I'm not to sure yet. her back story still has some kinks.

I'm mostly just aiming for a feminine classic hero type name

Egyptian? Fallen from the stars? Light energy?

How about "Avatar of Aten"?

From wikipedia on Egyptian mythos.

In the Ennead of Egyptian mythology, Nut (alternatively spelled Nuit, Newet, and Neuth) was the goddess of the sky.[2]

Avatar of Neuth maybe? Or Nuit?

Mighty She

as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.

This is what I've done before - I take an egyptian mythology figure or name, and adjust, spell a little different, add another name, ect.

I have a few characters with demonic origin, so they get the last name of Demonborn, so you get Anubis Demonborn.

Also have a female character, origin tied to artifacts used by the Eqyptian god Osiris...so I tweaked the name, and got Osyrya.

A quick google search for the Egyptian word for light came back with the following answers:

aakhu
on
uin

So - for something classic - adding Doctor in front of one of those could work. For something more mythological - adding Isis in front of one could also be a possibility.

You have a FF/NRG Def?

You want an Egyptian theme?

With the gold and white costume, maybe ... Hmmm ... how about : Sekhmet Aten (or you could combine them into 1 word)

Sekhmet - the Goddess of war.
... and ...
Aten - A form of the sun god Ra.

Sorry maybe I confused people and wasn't very clear. The character itself is half egyptian but the name doesnt actually need to be egyptian as she was only there because of the dig site. As to what the artifact really is going to be i'm still working on it. I'm thinking of a name based more on her powers, which is why im having trouble cause i'm horrible with energy related names.

I'm sorry if i confused people D=

Ohhh...well in that case... Wiki names associated with Quantum physics, astro - phenomenon associated with star activity, nuclear terms(maybe more for radiation, but whatever), try information and terms in relation to a particle accelerator, the particle collider they build in europe..hadrosomething... hope that helps

You might want to consider an Egyptian name then. Might be more likely to get it too.

Kyra and Shesheta were two I found. Asenath was one as well but that sounds so Lovecraftian. :P

Kyra Quantum has a kicky sound or Quantum Kyra maybe or even Quantum Scarab

I am lousy at names, mostly because I like generic, silver-age names most, but some ideas...

Doctor Ankh
Doctor Dynasty
Nile Queen
Doctor Thebes

...to focus on her powers more...

Lady Quantum
Auric
Anomaly Girl (or Woman)
Doctor Photon
Doctor Nuclei
Cosmic Wave

...trying to combine Egypt with science maybe?

Cosmic Pharaoh
Astral Ankh
Photon Pharaoh

This Wiki link, leads to all kinds of scientific terms and other Wiki articles that might help you find the right nomenclature:

Forgive me, I know my names sounds more like a bad radio-play, that sells sugar cereals during the commercial breaks...but those are the kinds of names I tend to gravitate to...

...some of these names may not be available, I was unable to check for their availability.

What if the stone she found at the Dig was a Hieratic Jar holding the physical remains of a 'star god' deity, that isn't necessarily an Egyptian deity, but is something extraterrestrial and powerful enough in its last moments of life to make the Egyptians bury it with someone important?

Wow, I actually really like that idea. By a hieratic jar you mean something like a canopic jar right?

Yeah, canopic. I was thinking of something else when I said heiratic. To elaborate, if something with strange alien powers crashed and the locals didn't recognize it, its possible they thought it was something divine. When it dies, maybe in a fight with an equally alien creature (which the Egyptians again thought of as something mystical), the Pharaoh as the mortal embodiment of Ra, has its remains buried with him, since he could use such a powerful ally in the afterlife.

Then when your character touches it, shazam, she's suddenly the next incarnation of this strange star deity!

thats exactly the direction your idea took me
