And not a single (cough) was given this day as I don't use FB.

Hey, I thought it was verboten to refer to other games on these forums...
IBTL!! -

Nuther vote here for MMs. If you don't know about it, read up on body guard mode.
My Bots/Dark drops that area effect slow, maybe fearsome stares them a little, they take ONE SHOT at me and my bots let loose the fury of electronic-powered mayhem while I maybe click a heal or something. When I get bored I use more Dark powers to debuff the bosses that much more. We can really chew through groups of foes without too much sweat. -
The last two AE teams I've run with I took stalkers both times and on both teams I was one of the only players who never died. Oh sure, one of them had a pretty decent build at level 47, but the other was only 29th iirc and had standard enhancers in 90% of the slots.
Scrapperlock tastes better on a stalker. -
If that existed, I've never heard of it nor seen it in play. Sounds like it could be fun though.

Escorts have always been sort of buggy in AE from what I've heard and my experience (which is only one use, but anyway). I have been able to set things up to lead them to the objective though, and I think others have too, so maybe you're just hitting a particularly bad bug on yours.
Or, maybe the "creative way" you're trying to use one is the problem? There's not a lot you can do with them that I know of other than "set escort, set their item, the end".
I'm not way experienced with them - just my best guess - but that's what I know from here. Hopefully someone will come along and clear this up for both of us. -
Quote:There's something about this event that I always do too. Part of that might have something to do with the fact that fall is my favorite time of the year. I'm really hoping this haunted mansion thing works out well. I also hope that the two week(ish) vacation I'm taking in about the middle of Oct. gives me a chance to play it before people get tired of it and stop playing it.I feel kinda crazy for being this excited about some Halloween digital goodness.

I've clicking NO and haven't had any problems yet.

I can't count every meme in that video. I think that's a good thing. Anyone who recognizes all the memes in there probably spends far too much time on the internet.

Yeah, I know, right?

These sorts of builds are called 'petless MMs' and you have to have very understanding friends to team with as they are quite underpowered.

Ya know, just the other day I was playing a new toon at 16 and teamed up with a guy who didn't have the cash to pay for some EndMods for his brute's Stamina. I had just sent my toon 50 mil so I gave this guy 20 and he just about fell over.
Nice to see I'm part of a tradition and didn't even know it. -
I still enjoy imagining my stories, working them up and then getting even just a few plays from players who want to see what I've come up with. That's not aggravation, that's fun, so I'm not gonna quit.

Quote:Pretty much what I had in mind, yeah - and I like the stalker one, that sounds fun!Hmm with the Zombie survival MMO example I was thinking along the lines of what Clave was suggesting.
Humans = adaptable and versatile, can be good in combat or other areas.
Zombies = Combat focused but varied in that focus.
Lets say you start out as a Walker, you're weak one your own but able to take out NPC humans in groups of 1-3. From there you can progress down several paths with their own wider skill set focused to that path.
Groaner: MM style controlling a horde of zombies, skills would focus on improving horde.
Crusher: aka TAAAAAANNNKKKK big, hulking zombie that focuses on smacking the crap out of anything in its way, hits slow but hits like a truck, very resilient though.
Stalker: Mix of Witch (high melee damage) and Hunter, able to scale buildings and even ceilings while it waits for prey, hits very quickly for high damage not as tough as regular zombies.
Meanwhile all Zombies would have an additional pool of skills available to all no matter which specialisation they picked or if they indeed bothered picking a specialisation and instead focused on the general skills while remaining a walker.
That's all I've got for the moment, sure I could think of other skills set styles for Zombie, just throwing things out there. -

If for no other reason, taking JK is fun because chances are, no one else on the team will have it. I'M A SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE! and all that.
-
My Corr's only up to something like 16th level so far, but that's what I noticed - this is a great set for teams that face large groups, not as hot for solo, although it can still do that just fine.

Quote:When we were playing through this, I actually found the unpolished nature of a few of the mechanics enjoyable as it left me stumped as to what was going on for a few minutes (assuming I'm thinking of the same things you are) - that means it didn't feel like just another run-round some foes and the streets of Galaxy. Then again, I was one of the few on (admittedly small) team that didn't die... my stalker is awesome!
Final Days is a creative prelude to the Shivan invasion of issue 21. While it's mechanics can still use some polishing and the author takes some creative license by having the Shivans talk instead of grunt, it's still a fun, action-packed lead-in to CoH: Freedom! BEST PREQUEL!! -
Quote:Yes it does, more players means more money. If you think there is only one sane reason to switch models, then you're right. But it's not the one we've been given. The only sane reason to switch models is because Paragon/NCSoft believe that this will give them better financial returns in the long run (or at least as long a run as they are contemplating.) This ought to be so obvious that it should not need stating.
Note that this doesn't have to have anything to do with "growing the base" -
Quote:Not gonna believe it until I see it. For years now people kept speculating "Donna is the Rani" or something; in some places I hang out online it's become a running joke. So don't believe everything you hear. There's also been rumors that the Rani may return next season.
-
For years people complained about "all snakes all the time" and now that they're gone, people complain about their absence. Just goes to show that you can't please everyone.
But I have to agree, I kind of liked them... and I'm already really tired of LongBow. -
Quote:I almost went with Traps for my Beamer (I need a bumper sticker that says "My other Corr is a Beamer"), but since I played that set to death I went with Time, which is shiny new. But I know how awesome Traps is already and Beam? I don't have a clue as to how it stacks up against other Corr sets, but just look at all the fun!!Dang yoouuu!! Now I'm gonna make *another* alt. Like I don't have enough defenders...
Let's just say altitis is a disease you never wanna cure... -
Quote:I believe* it's helping retain at least a few, even in it's much-ballyhooed teeth-gnashingly, doom-addled state. I know that applies to me and law of averages would suggest there are probably similar cases in a group of 100K+.I do not believe that AE in its current form is bringing in any subscriptions, and is much more likely to have a negative effect on player retention.
I was sort of reaching another burn-out point with the game when it came in and I'm still fired up at this point to tell the stories I haven't yet. AE arcs are what I do when I burn out playing, otherwise I might even let my sub slip.
Then again, I can't find as much time to dedicate to writing AE arcs as I've reached another "wow I love this toon I want to play more" point.**
*glad to see your vocabulary describing this as a personal viewpoint rather than a fact, so I'll do so as well - kudos!
**please note: this X4... maybe 5... :P
