When you're writing paychecks for people to fix exploits in the AE system, such time just might count towards "time we can garnish on this one part of the game." Our dev overlords have to budget out everything, time included. But I'll agree that this (and it's side effects) does not end up feeling like "love" to you and me and other AE fans.

    Thanks!
I'm not part of a supergroup and - oh wait I am, after a couple of years of not bothering with one... anyways, no one in my super recommended my arcs in this thread (all one that has gotten dev-play anyway).

You'll have to do things like I did and most others did I think - start a thread about your arc here in the AE forums ("My New Arc: 'Awesomeness McAwesome' #blahblah" is a good title for such a thread) and then listen to players' comments and suggestions (odds are, some will be worth taking and listeing to carefully), keep reworking it, writing more etc. etc. etc....

and hope someone likes your work enough to recommend it here.

Thanx.
Traditionally, they tend to wait a bit before adding in the new sets. I guess they're spending some time sitting around and trying to think of ways the power set might be abused into an exploit or something... On the other hand, AE has been seeing precious little love of any sort recently, so it might just be inertia on their part.

Pretty much my take on it, except my odd hours and "new shiny end-game content all the time" makes it hard for me to find or even make teams when I play, so that part has been less fun.

(For example, for those who might care, earlier this week I logged on to Virtue, red-side. At the Cap BM I saw only two other players, I think all of Cap showed maybe 5 when I /searched. I /searched RWZ and the list of 50s ran down to the bottom.)

To be fair, it's gone in cycles of farm central to ghost town a couple of times as new ways of exploiting it are found. Back in its "new shiny" days though, anyone could get some plays, but that's pretty unlikely to happen now without adverting your arc around.

I agree with what Eva said, AE isn't something you can just add-in and forget but sadly the devs seem to have stopped doing much with it at all (even base building is getting more love these days), unless time spent fixing exploits counts (and it might).

AE itself really should have gone further and could still be pushed further if they wanted to. They could if nothing else could even try and make what rewards it can offer - good stories - easier to get, such as by letting a whole team see the text. All these and more have been gone over many times on those forums.

Still, thinking something they haven't spent much time on lately must be a regret means the game is filled with them as they're always leaving something in the dust to rush after the new shiny - unless it's end-game content, they're going to make enough of that stuff to choke a whole herd of horses. Maybe they regret having tried to interest us in anything but end-game raids, or maybe they regret having had to resort to them?
  7. I try and find a team; sometimes I make one, but not often. We usually end up doing radio missions and/or tips. If I'm playing solo it's usually either tips or AE arcs.

(I can count on maybe one hand... one and a half hands??? the number of trial/TFs/etc. I've played since I started this game and I don't see that changing any time soon. Multiple reasons: disinterest, the hours I play being two big ones.)

Failing that, I'm working on a new AE arc, set myself for "do not accept" and yet still get tells... which sometimes I go ahead and take anyways.
  8. Grazz! That's something I need to try and do, get toons to 50... but it's not a self-imposed extra set of rules that's keeping me from doing it but altitis and a so-far non-medically diagnosed case of hey is that a squirrel?

Er, did you check the date on that article?

But this is great news indeed! Not long ago I was looking down that list and sighing... this gives me hope for the nerdy future.
  10. This also reminds me of my character Rabbitual Criminal, last seen in orange prison gear as he got busted and is now working on going the straight and narrow when I last showed him... but since he's reforming... no go I think.

Past him, anyone from something mine would work and be fine, Princess YinYin perhaps, if you wanted one of mine.
  11. It's hard to find a PUG these days, especially soon after yet more post-50 content gets released. Unless, you know, you're playing a 50 (hero to boot) and want to run those things endlessly, neither of which describes me.* But once I do find one, my experience is much like that as well, it reminds me why I'm here. I just wish it didn't happen less and less frequently.

*(In before choruses of "start your own team" and "you can solo anytime you want!" Things didn't use to be so limited like they are now.)
  12. Here's hoping we can carry this baby all the way to five pages, maybe more!

I like the idea on its face, but I'd fear we'd end up with a ton more entries and not enough time to play them; that I think is what we need more of.
  14. I'm of course disappointed I didn't win, but still surprised I was even nominated! Congratulations to everyone who did win though!

    AE Pipeline?

New maps, maybe some new emotes here and there but not a lot else I can think of, other than fixes for FotM exploits.

I think that it's not seen much love because time they can dedicate to it gets eaten up with those. Factor in how many other people never find the time to come back and I'm sure that to the devs it looks like a niche concern within the game.

    (And hey look, it's Goldar!)
  16. Getting on board the test wagon!
  17. I use them up until maybe level 20, but rarely remember to pull them out afterwards unless I'm having Ends probs (in the case of blue wisp) and willing to grasp at straws.
  18. Back when the AE first came out, some one set up a site somewhere for something like this... yes it's a vague blur to me now... but I don't recall it ever seeing much action and I think it's gone these days or getting pretty much no action, as I haven't seen it mentioned in a good long time.

I can see the sharing function being good for farmers I guess, or maybe RPers who want to spin work off their friends', but usually I think most of us AEers are too busy trying to turn out our own original work to find the time for writing up something with other people's stock players.* Then again, that may be old school thinking now that you can have more than 8 arcs...

*Not to denigrate your interest in such a thing, mind you, but it obviously wasn't too popular back when AE first started and back then our numbers were much larger.

It's been said already, really, but this was head and shoulders above anything I saw in the 80s. My opinion on this might be suspect as anime I try and watch these days strikes as nearly the exact same thing I was seeing back then, but so it goes.

These sots of things are often fall into the YMMV category, I know. I'm willing to work within that category knowing some people don't care for it.
  21. I liked all the villain arcs. But here's my votes for the best of two:

Grunty McFisterson's Two Step Guide to Winning Respect #519044 by @Twoflower

    Interdimensional Headache #459592 by @Nebulhym

And... being as time's running out on me and everyone else is doing it and I do play redside mostly, I will vote for my own arc on the heroic category, When The Words Stop #494099 by @Clave_Dark_5.

-All Stalker attacks that are not Assassin's Strike will build stacks of a buff called Assassin's Focus. Assassin's Focus increases your chance to critically strike with the out-of-hide Assassin's Strike.
-Stalker Buffed Max HP will be increased by about 400. This should allow them to fully benefit from powers like dull pain, hoarfrost, etc.
-These changes to Stalkers should make them very competitive top-end damage dealers, and help them with their early attack chain since they can use Assassin's Strike mid-combat.
This just cannot come out fast enough for me, TY guys very much! Maybe once these go into effect, the whole "lolstalkers" thing can finally fade away in a year or two... (hey, you know how people are!)

Quite sad. I mostly play villains and I think I've been in DA maybe five times total, so my opinion on this might not count for much (although others here seem to share it), but man that place is/was unforgettable for those two elements alone.

    Bad call.

You wanna make it a zone that actually has stuff going on in it? Cool, go for it, but don't strip out what was good the first time round.

Edit: NO FAIR!!! Noble Savage posted while I was composing my post! >
