But it still sets the bar for "dear sweet gods above that was hard".

Uh... no. But R-Type is still a decent difficulty.

How many times can they be hit? If that is a single hit type shooter... I refuse to believe that is possible. :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

It is single hit. However, for these sorts of games your hit box is typically a single pixel in the center of your ship, rather than the entire sprite.

Its still fairly impressive to see someone play them well, though. I sure as heck can't do it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That explains why there were so many hits that didn't count.

    Faction is Dead!

    Villains are not a group.
  4. There's probably going to be some AT balancing with going rogue and I would much rather buff defenders, stalkers, and tanks than nerf the rest. Doms are getting a huge buff to join the ranks of the rest anyway.

And while speaking of that subject:

Tanks should get a 2nd inherent, a click called Offensive Focus that increases their attack but debuffs recharge, res, etc.

Stalkers should get a minor res and attack debuff added to "Assassin's Fear" so that they can have more team utility.

But I like the idea here, because it is kind of hard to come up with a solo buff that works with the support theme of defenders and this does, if combined with the endurance buff and another regen buff.

I'm still wondering how fiery healing ever came into play...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wonder that but amusingly there is a precedent. Roy Mustang.
  6. I think he has an interesting idea actually. What if they got a bonus to endurance and regen with low HP and attack with high HP? That would make them more effective solo or while teaming with a lot of defense.

Sonic and FF can do things other than heal with that endurance discount. They can KB, debuff, or stack more of their blast's bonus effects. Presumably in such a situation endurance and regen would be a lot more useful.

A more interesting type of vigilance would do a lot for defenders IMO and they need some kind of solo buff that works with support concepts. Such an inherent would be a way of adapting to the team's needs, even a solo team.
  7. I'm qualified but I can't move to NorCal.

    Need DR formula

So does this mean that it is pointless to slot tohit buffs OR tohit debuffs more than about 30%, or for a dark to power boost? Does mez cur mean mag, duration, or resist?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Buffs and Debuffs are resolved first, before being affected by DR. So regardless of the "softcaps" you're seeing in the calculations, if DR is placing something like a 30% soft cap on an attribute, and you build to 50, then if someone applies a -15% debuff on you, you still have 35% and you'll still be relatively close to the same 30% softcap. But if you decide to build to just 30 because of DR, and someone hits you with a -15 debuff, then you'll drop to around 15. Its always *totals* that are affected by DR, not individual powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I refer to the tohit str A and B, 5 and 1, which cap tohit enhancement at 12%, and require an enhancement of 30% to get to it. This would make enhancement beyond an SO pointless and mean that a dark has no reason to get power boost.

    [ QUOTE ]
Now, mezzing powers are essentially always defined to be "Duration-based" powers, which means when they hit you with their Cur, that Cur affects the duration of the mez. The power also has an intrinsic magnitude (for player mezzes, usually 3) which is independent of its Cur.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why would they do that after reducing mez to 2-4 seconds?

It sounds as if shield defense is by far the most powerful defense set, since it has both defense and resistance, and should be able to get similar numbers to a SR and Inv combined. Does travel supression stop you from shield charging?

Is there a way to get the DR formula so I can adjust the totals that I get with Mid's?

I want my Ninjitsu Scrapper damnit!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Since it looks like Stalkers will probably never get Shields, I have a feeling Ninjitsu will end up staying unique to them as some sort of compensation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The comedy of Hide with a shield as the tool is something that can't be underestimated.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It makes exactly as much sense as regen hide, or for that matter, the powers that shields get that have nothing to do with shields, such as true grit or aoo.

The hide skill can be done independently of the shield. There's no rule that it has to be RPed as a function of the set's theme.

However, some of the most distinctive shield powers would not work with a stalker's style.

Can we get an option to turn off email?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I agree, why can't the dev's just add in an option to turn off email, just like we can turn off XP now? At least it should provide a quick Band-Aid for now until they can track these people down. My personal option is, I don’t use email at all. So turning it off should stop the spamming, hopefully.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would be a terrible attack against the functionality of the game to stop them.

It makes a lot more sense to just limit the number of emails that can be sent in X period.

New accounts: 1 email per 10 minutes (replies to a person who emailed you do not count against this)
Accounts with at least 1 veteran badge: 20 per 24 hours

With this restriction even if they are using trials, paying, stealing credit, or hacking to change their globals, spam would be rare and would quickly become too slow to be effective.

The vet restriction is to de-incentivize hacking of vet accounts to spam.

And to those who say to shame the buyers, if even 10 people do it they will continue to spam.

250K a year is upper middle class? That sounds like lower upper class to me. Once your income gets into the 6 digits (to the left of the decimal point) range, you are no longer a part of the middle class.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Middle class america

$250k would classify as upper middle class under most of the definitions on the wiki. I would personally consider middle class to be no higher than 100k a year at the most though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Honestly, how much you make per year and how well off you are depends on where you live. In some places (re: San Fransisco or New York), 250k would probably be considered upper middle class thanks to the high cost of living. In other places, 100k could easily be considered the border of upper middle class and upper class, thanks to low cost of living.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bingo. $150k sounds like a lot more than it is if you live in these places.
  14. In a game that desperately needs more diverse gameplay, this would be huge.
  15. No to terminals.

YES to a building the floats like the chalet!

Further, only one rikti comm officer in a group can open a portal and summon, and it's interuptable. Change it so they all open portals at the same time and make it uninteruptable, and I'm pretty sure people won't be using them anymore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would. That would be AMAZING! And I'd make ambushes of minions with gang war.

So I support letting the comm officers spawn multiple portals because it would deter the exploit and increase the AWESOME.
  17. So is there a list of which rare As are bronze or silver?
  18. We need some screens of more of the costume options online, such as the female high collar cloak and any others that haven't been shown.
  19. I guess some people just like to downvote success. What's it called?
  20. A few days ago an arc suddenly jumped up to the hall of fame with 999+ votes and it had previously been under 100. The it disappeared. What was that about?
  21. What if they were restricted to existing roads to avoid animation issues?
  22. I skimmed 2 pages of whining "no" spam and only 1 person even bothered to explain.

It came out as a very long way to say "you could buff your alts easily." Is there anybody who wants to buff their alts who is deterred by transfers?

This reminds me of how I was flamed to hell for suggesting that storm would be a good set for masterminds. There are a lot of unimaginative jerks here.
  23. No personal offense to the OP, but this is probably the worst idea that has ever been posted here.

Level cap raises are a bad idea to start with and this takes that and adds a ton of restrictions.

And if they ever do write a CoH2 to get rid of the limitations, the whole point of doing so would be to start from scratch. If a build can be imported there would be no need to start over and it could just be an upgrade.
  24. EvilGecko is making an amazing case here. I came unconvinced and biased to not merging and he has convinced me, at least if his interpretation of supply and demand.

The arguments being offered against don't make sense.

Let's say that there are 100 and 20 mu vestments at 300k and 100k respectively. So Billz said guess what happens to that supply? It goes to the hero bidders, but also lowers the prices listed at the bid history. So people start bidding less. Meanwhile there is more money going to vills on many categories.

But the real big deal is with those items that are almost nonexistent. Let's say there are 10 per month and 1 per month respectively. The 1 per month will go to whoever puts up a ridiculous bid and the price fluctuates wildly 100k to 10m (there are items with such large swings). 1 person often has a monopoly as either a buyer or seller. Merging would stabilize that. The average price may go up a bit but you are less likely to have to make desperation bids.

In general the price of everything including inf would move towards the hero amount by some percentage around 60-80. You could expect more hero salvage, more vill inf, and less monopolies.

However, the primary issue would be with things that are inherently easier to get with either market. That is a far bigger obstacle to a merge than supply and demand. You could get a lot of people in the same market while some of them can not get into farms or TFs as easily.

So it's not supply and demand but an imbalance of production.
  25. IMO villains have enough arcane themed zones and I'd rather have some tech zones. 5 of the 7 are themed heavily around some terrible arcane group or monster threatening the zone.

Also, I think that a lot of the potential of such a zone could be achieved by expanding the content of primeva.

Of course TFs and expanded group backstory are welcome, but since there are a limited number of zones likely to be added in any given period, I can't see using a slot on a zone that sounds so much like what's there now.
