You've gone a funny golden colour! I'd see a doctor about that.

(well I say golden, it's more of a dirty yellow)

This, with Scrappers moved up to 80% (and Stalkers left at 75).

With Rad and Dark (especially Dark, the only bad power in the set is at 35) being two noteworthy exceptions, getting access to the APP at 35 is really nice for these two.

In fact Rad is possibly the set which gets all it's absolutely essential powers the earliest (maybe Traps rivals it, but Controllers don't get Traps), especially for any ranged controller. EMP is still a nice enough Tier 9, just not a set-defining one.

    Np .
It's up to you of course. Personally I tend to only slot it in AOEs. Then again I tend to do the same with damage procs too, aiming to put them into AOE powers as much as possible.

For for example I'd probably move the Forced Feedbacks out of the single target melee attacks and Jolting Chain (it counts as single target with regards to this or any other buffing or End Mod proc due to how it works) and instead focus on sticking Damage procs into Cages and Jolting instead (as well as into your APP AOE if you have one)

Just one of these diminishing returns things, with the FF slotted into Tremor and Fissure sticking it into single target attacks isn't returning enough for me compared to refactoring in Moar Damage somewhere else in the build via procs in AOEs.

For an Elec/Psi if you are taking the Psi APP then Psi Tornado is an excellent place for a Forced Feedback

Also : When was the Drowning in Blood trial introduced? (I was away so I've no idea if it was i22, or earlier)

How does everyone feel about something like that?
Par for the course for my characters. Lots of people don't bother with super-duper builds on their characters. I tend to Frankenslot and use some PROCs, nothing more. I rarely bother with set bonuses (my Widow & Fort did, no-one else did really)

    Concept Build?

But hey, if they really do for some reason want to play a character that is abnormally suggestible, it's their character. I can choose not to team with them, or if I'm leader I can choose not to let them join my team, if it is excessively detrimental to my playing experience. Since most teams can do fine with one person completely absent, though, having one person be mostly ineffectual should usually not be a severe detriment.

Most concept builds, that I've seen, are not nearly so limited. A Fiery Melee character that skips the sword attacks (or, alternately, that uses only the sword attacks), or choosing an epic pool that is clearly inferior, or etc. These things do limit a character's effectiveness, but not in a horribly crippling way.
This pretty much. Concept affects everyone to one extent or another. My Plant/Emp is focused around using Vengie (sacrificing an individual to draw power from the Earth) and doesn't really like healing. She's a controller and buffer; If you die on her watch you'll be making the team more awesome with your death, plus she'll bring you back and you'll become unstoppable for a bit (you're next for power boosted Fort + AB).

People on teams who have suggested that she stop controlling and heal instead end up on the Sacrifice list.

That all being said it's rare enough someone actually dies when she's on the team. The concept is there and used but it actually doesn't weaken the team at all or affect them much, unless they're of the "OMG, we got a healer" mentality (the correct response being "OMG, I got Vengie Bait")

Well no, it's not. I think animals with swords in their mouths would look daft. Just because there's already an option to look like something else which I also think looks silly ingame already doesn't make sword wielding wolves less silly to me.
  11. My main is a Plant/Emp who I levelled up during City of Dual Pistols but nowadays Time trumps Emp big time for a Controller, it has all the nice buffs Emp does but mostly as AOEs (so they affect you too).

Any of Time, Dark, Storm, TA and Rad are all going to be excellent. Pick whichever you like the sound of (of the 5 I'd rank Rad last personally, only because I dislike the anchor debuffs on large teams, it'd still be an excellent combo)

Edit : I see you went TA. Creepers & Oil Slick with a Fireball lobbed in sounds like a ridiculous I Win combo.
  12. Go for #4 : Drop Night Fail (I did on my Fire/Dark) and proc out your quick recharging AOE controls (Cages & Chain).

Fire APP will do more damage compared to Ice, but you sacrifice some nice defensive powers (Ice Armour, Hibernate and Hoarfrost).

I also took Spring Attack on mine for a bit more AOE but its recharge means its not going to feature in your attack chain much. It is useful in my Gather Shadows > Flashfire > Spring Attack > Engulfing Darkness opener.
  13. You slaughtered a nest of helpless, baby vampires?

I think we all learned who the real monsters are here.
  14. One thing that might be useful to mention with regards to Dominators is how the various AOEs work in Domination.

One of the reasons Paralytic is nice on a Domi is that it's your only proper Dominationable AOE Mez. Static Field and Jolting get nothing from it and Synaptic Overload only has Domination on the initial target, so unlike Controllers if you're in Domination then targetting the boss can be a good idea, but hit Aim / Build-Up / scoff some Yellows first.

Also all the AOE mezzes (and the drains) benefit from Power Boost, with the exception of Jolting again.
  15. I haven't run the numbers but I'm a bit confused as to how a Fire Corruptor is only as effective as a Katana scrapper. Maybe 1 to 1 against an EB or something (which is probably about right balance-wise) but on a typical 8 man team the Fire Corruptor should be throwing out tonnes more damage?

I've played a Broadsword scrapper (BS/Fire in fact) and a Fire/Dark corruptor and the difference between the 2 is enormous on teams, the Fire/Dark just melts things on a scale the Scrapper can't match. In fact I gave up playing the scrapper due to how slow the animations were and how annoying chasing things to finish it off was.

Ditto with my Nova Form Warshade, yes the single target damage is meh but the AOE frequently mows down the entire spawn around the meleers who are still fighting a boss.

Maybe on paper there's some proof that meleers do more damage but in-game I've never really felt range damage folk were killing less than their melee counterparts, especially on large teams.

I've never seen that as a problem. Splitting any potential player base into two separate zones is a larger one IMO.

Mind you Croatoa and Striga are another 2 good examples of what's going to happen with this new zone after about a week or so, as is First Ward

I still cannot work out why they won't give us a proper Public Team system instead of messing around with adding more new Global Channels (we already have Help, shunting the LFT talk from there to a LFG channel is pointless : These zones will still be empty)

I really, really dislike this idea. Which is odd for someone who has a Sea Urchin character ingame.

I wouldn't mind a shapeshifter type with their own attacks and abilities which are suited to the form (which The Echinoderm does), but dogs wielding katanas in their mouths, or barking rockets / arrows / etc or pooping traps just seems silly to me.

City of Druids is most likely on the way anyway* which is to me a happy medium between the two (animal forms for those that want them but with attacks and moves which makes sense and use of those forms)

*Based on nothing more than scraps and hints floating around the boards and things like Shadowhunter and the constant reuse of the 4 legged rig.
  18. My Elec/NRG Domi probably had the easiest time of it overall. His Sleep Patch took care of any ambushes and NRGs early attack chain & single target focus meant he could blap and blast his way through them one by one. At one point, fighting 5 or 6 Clockwork Lieuts it felt like cheating. My Ice/Thorns Domi had a much rougher time (End woes mostly and a lack of a reliable shut-down mez).

My Dual Blades/Elec Brute had an easy time of it too mostly, although Resistance were a bit annoying.

So why exactly did you post it onto the boards unsolicited if not for fresh eyes to have a look over it? If you post something in a public forum people will respond to it. If it's a build then they'll respond with advice and their own take on it, especially on the AT forums.

If you don't want that to happen then don't post your build. Simples. But don't get all shirty because people do what they've done on these subforums for years, ie respond with reasonable advice.

Yes, that pretty much what I meant. First Ward is empty any time I venture in, after a week so will this, unfortunately
  21. Seems a pretty slight Issue overall. With another zone which will be played for a week and then become a barren wasteland.

  23. I think there's some things on the way in i23 to improve teaming.

but I'm not sure if they're anything more than new Global channels for people to use, not I'm not sure they'll be of use.

I would like to see drop rates on teams improved, the difference between soloing and being on an 8 man in terms of things like Insps dropping is silly, and given how loopy the market is at the moment doing the same for Salvage would seem like a good idea too.

Doesn't have to be a 1-1 improvement but certainly could do with a little tweaking.
