only one that needs an end reducer is invinc, the endcost for the invuln-set is considerably lower for brutes, hit 28 last night and now run all at the same time, TI:3dam-res UY:3dam-res Invinc:1End
i think i'll make 29 tonight wich will make invinc 1end 2def buff just as the build above says
works very nice
the trick to keeping the endcost down, especially on Energy Meele, is to slot end reducers in the attacks rather than the toggles, and this works out for brutes all along since Fury takes care of the damage for you untill your Endurance has stabilized. -
sitting in school and ofc spending all the time here on the forums i thought i'd post the build i'm using on my em/invu brute. i absolutely love it so far (almost lvl 27)
he was ofc a bit nasty on endurance untill lvl 22 when i picked up stamina and got SO's but now he's a proper killing machine.. LOVE IT!
the only real changes i'm gonna make is in travel power, gonna change it to either SJ or Fly because i dont find SS a good choice (for me) in the CoV zones.

Regen for PvE and SR for PvP IMO.
[/ QUOTE ]
imvho regen does better in PvP than SR does. but that like everything else is a matter of personal preference. -
well i have a katana/regen at lvl 50, lovely lovely sets high dps and great survivability
i've also gone and made a katana/sr, currently lvl 17 sr is very heavy on endurance pre-stamina
but having katana you get divine avalanche (same as Parry from Broad Sword) wich gives +Def to meele and lethal making you able to slot for some extra end reducers instead of Def Buffs during the earlier lvls, also taking Lotus Drops directly at 18 might be a bit too rough on endurance since it has a rather high cost.
katana/sr as such is a very nice set that works together nicely, some see it as rather team dependant at first but thats just personal taste.
i'd say give it a try, cant get worse than you not liking it
also if you feel like taking another route than katana, BS is said to work very well with sr due to tremendous burst damage and Parry, ofc BS means even higher endcost pre-stamina, even after stamina it might be a bit high, but its nothing a bit of slotting cant fix -
Hellows
was just wondering if anyone is planning on running the first CoV respec friday or saturday night?
my brute is almost 27 and i thought its time to stock up a respec
if you got a spot open send a tell to @Brimmy
i'll be on friday from 17.00 (5) gmt+1
and most part of saturday -
a quick runthrough of what you want is as follows
These are what you really really need (in my opinion)
Primary:
Rock Armor
Stone Skin
Earth's Embrace
Rooted
Minerals
Granite
Secondary:
Jab (cant skip it)
Haymaker
Taunt
Rage
Knock Out Blow
Footstomp
Depending on how you feel about your survivability as you go along you could pick up
Brimstone Armor
Crystal Armor as well
also if you feel like it i'd recomend Mudpots wich is your PBAoE taunt/damage aura -
i find there are quite alot of them, see them all the time.
-
and you have no need for 2 travel powers, i'd advise you to pick one and take some useful powers instead....
personally i think i might do something like this:

now thats just silly, silly indeed.
i play a few stalkers myself and i find it to be FUN when the target is running around like a mad man and i'm chasing him like an ever mader man
if you wanna explain it to him just tell him he gotta act in PvP as on a 60% sale on sears, keep moving or get run over!! XD -
having some experience in /ss tanking, 50 lvls worth to be exact, in my opinion it is a very allround set with having alot of knockdown and some disorient as well combined with some great damage once you have rage (but you know that allready)
with invu/ you will as said be scranking until you get your +Def powers from 18+ and solo/small teams will be the easiest way to go, to get going at a quick pace i'd recomend duoing with a blaster or a scrapper and just plow through the mishes at a nice speed.
if you plan on taking on the tanking role in a greater meaning be sure to pick up taunt when you can fit it in since you will need it in cramped situations.
Another thing that will be new to you is guantlet, whenever you attack an enemy you will grab a certain amount of aggro both from the one you hit and those close to him, this isnt a very strong "taunt" but stacking with invinc at 18 it is enough to keep your team fairly safe.
if you are going for a more aggressive tank you probably wont be taking taunt at all, letting invinc/punchvoke keep em at you while you smash away.
also to note Temp Invuln. for tankers has a higher endcost than for villains so slotting for endurance in your attacks might be a good idea. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
so that talk about not being able to kill "anything more than a squishy squishy" a is just bull imo, if you know what your doing you'll be fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
Have you tried this with non-superstrength stone tanks?
[/ QUOTE ]
yupp, on the trainingroom thingy i tried with a stone/stone and a stone/axe, both did fine there -
[ QUOTE ]
My mistakes... Stone tanks can fight...
But Granite will basically reduce your mobility, recharge, and damage so much that you cant fight for tofee. You will certainly only get into melee range if your opponent wants to, and even then, its unlikely you will be able to kill anything more than a squishy squishy.
Having said that, you will be unlikely to die I suppose. The only way of effectively destroying a granite is end drain, which they have no defence against, which leads to a detoggle.
[/ QUOTE ]
i must disagree here, i take Brimstone (stone/ss) to warburg/rv every now and then and i dont have much of a problem at all, having almost perma rage with hasten running the -dam -recharge in Granite is gone and i've taken down both stalkers and brutes so that talk about not being able to kill "anything more than a squishy squishy" a is just bull imo, if you know what your doing you'll be fine.
and about Granites not havin defense against end-drain, YES WE HAVE!!Rooted give mezz protection, ptrotection to END DRAIN AND + regen
-
hmm, will have to try whirling out on test when i get there, i have footstomp on Brimstone (more as aggro-grab than anything else really) perhaps whirling can suit my playstyle quite well afterall
thnx again for the advice
i will also have a look at ET slotting when i get there, but its far away atm, started him up today so i'm only lvl 7 so far -
just gonna say that i've put together yet another build now and i'm gonna go with it doing necessary changes as i go along
thnx to all of you for the advice, i must say it was harder to plan out an invu tank than it was to plan out Brim XD -
thought i added a third heal to DP, must have seen wrong.
i know energy punch isnt the best attack in the world, but dont you reckon it could fill the attackchain better than Whirling?
on ET, maybe keep the end and set an Acc instead of the recharge? come to think of it 20 secs isnt that long for such a heavy hitter, and with hasten even less
another thing about ET that i'm just curious about, how much HP does it actually use? -
would've helped you out if i could, dont have a highlvl villain yet though so not much inf on that side of the law
-
i've looked it over again, considering what you've said, is this kinda what you meant?

gotta say i'm not very keen on Focused Acc but whe n iget there i might be, never know. -
okay..
stamina is supposed to be 3slotted (20,21,21) but the trainer went wierd and moved the third enmod to SS when i copied the text
about unstoppable, accoarding to the planner (sherks) the base resist is 70% with 3res enhances it around 100% how can that not be worth it?
focused acc took a bit of thought before i decided not to have it, first of all at those lvls 1acc SO will let me hit about anything in range and this set seems endheavy enough as it is without having FA sucking me dry ^^
i will look over the slotting and se where i can move a third dam res into Unyielding.
tyvm for the pointers -
i have two questions, why not take stonefist instead of that pesky boxing? (i would)
and why does nobody take Health these days? its a great power imo, really helps keeping downtime to a minimal.
i would probably do something like this:

took your advice to heart and looked over a new build plan.
i also changed travelpower to get some extra slots early on (was thinking ss or fly so either is just fine from a personal point of view)
what i'm thinking about now is,
would this be able to solo (at least fairly good/fast) if there are no teams around?

good advice, im still gonna go kinda scrank untill SO lvl though, i feel that Invuln needs some time to really get into itself and for that reason i'm keeping it a bit low at first. (wich ofc i wil explain to any teams i end up in
)
i'm gonna have a look at slotting unyielding more, i've been told before its not really worth slotting but maybe its changed since then (was before i7)
i did think about the medicine pool at first but i kinda feel i can at least try without it, if i feel the need for it later on i can always pick it up -
was thinking between eitherinvu/ss or invu/em and since i have a stone/ss its gonna be em this time
i was sketching on a build considering i wanna be able to solo and at the same time do my job in a team, so, this is what i've come up with so far. any advice is highly appreciated.

OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!! thats frekkin amazing work!
amazing i tellz ya!! -
all i can say is that if you find stalkers "bad", dont play them. that goes for all AT's. or just select a set for the AT that works for you, i've tried loads and loads of different AT's/Sets that i didnt like but just changing the primary or secondary can do loads for ya, my lv l18 stalker (ma/nin) can actually scrap fairly well if i want to do that, but as said, stalkers are not scrappers and you cant really play them as such.
as for CoV lacking heals i find that not true, sure CoV doesnt have empathy but if it had i'd ask them to get rid of it since villains arent supposed to be very empathical. you still have Thermal wich have heals/buffs/rez and kinetics so dont say there arent any heals on CoV.
