1) Basically people I can have a good time with

2) People who try to get the RP to make sense within the group, even if it does fail (just going to happen when your have 15-30 regulars in a SG).
This is why I prefere to RP more with my SG than with random PuGs (though it's funny, I switched to virtue purely ont he thought of running in character missions with my heroes...only to find that fails a lot more than it succeeds...no offense to any I team with on Virtue though...some concepts just don't mesh with other concepts, same with playstyles)
Quite frankly, I think I've found great RP with the Teen Phalanx, and is why I've yet to stick with any alts I put outside of them, also I love my main and namesake.
3) Avoid as much OOC Drama as possible. It's going to happen, but the point is to not bring it 24/7 or evenly regularly. -
Quote:All of the signature character's based on characters the devs played offline before the game was made are Mary Sues.
Positron (the dev) created:
-Positron: a Defender with more HP than most Tankers.
-Maelstrom: a Blaster with Dual Pistols and Martial arts (despite what the web site says about Energy Melee).
Then we've got:
-Manticore: a Natural Defender with massive HP that can be set on fire, take a direct lightning strike, and be punched in the face by super strong power armor and shrug it off.
-Lord Recluse: a Master Mind with thousands of henchmen, energy melee, invulnerability, and VEAT attacks.
...just to name four.
Most of the signature characters have exclusive powers made only for them, don't have the disadvantages for the ATs they're supposed to be (tough Blasters, Tankers with massive damage) or they simply defy all power set restrictions and brandish dual swords, guns and martial arts at the same time if they feel like it.
The devs are the only ones who can realize their characters the way they want to, and they flaunt the rules of the universe to do it, so that makes them all Mary Sues in my book.
.
No. WHat they're doing is making tough enemies for your character to fight.
Oh yes, totally worth the fight if Statesman was hard to beat up, but the blaster stood there taking the punches, due to a low damage mod.
Come on now. Think McFly, think.
All signature chaacters are going to be tough opponents, or else they're just not a challenge.
Even if some of the challenges are considered just plain boring.

My only problem with the concept art, is the attached arm of voltron doesn't have it's legs folded up.
Other than that, I kinda like it. -
Quote:He seems to be more upset that it was in 3D. They do have 2D showings he could of gone to.AJ review
someone disagrees with you sho. i haven't seen it yet but i think i will wait for it to come out on dvd.
That said, yes, just as well to see it in 2D.
He also gets the last bit wrong, though I could understand why, I didn't recognize the actress (its the same one) from #2. I'll blame it on the hair color though.

Quote:I'd be okay with that too.I don't like the idea of auto-6-slotting the attacks of the forms, actually...
What I -would- support is "Mirror Slots" Any Slot you add to the Form power, itself, grants 1 slot to all powers -in- the form.
So if I take Nova and put 3 slots in it (total) I get 3 slots in each of the nova attacks. While my Dwarf form has 5 slots in it, and 5 slots in each of it's powers.
I think that'd be more fair than just granting six-slots off the bat, and still lets a Kheldian choose a specialization if they prefer, rather than automatically saddling them with a bunch of empty slots.
-Rachel-
Gives the slots I need, but still requires me to spend them on the form to get them, thus ensuring I 6 slot the forms. -
I thought you were playing a scrapper? If you were you shouldn't have been getting held at all unless others were stacking the holds a lot on you.

Quote:Which is why I think all Stalkers need is a little more BANG in their BOOM!Ah, yes. Missed that last night. Been sick and a little out of it, so I missed the level differential for some reason.
That does seem weird, actually, since it knocks down a lot of a boss's health when they're at your level. They do have a lot of HP, I guess.
Just the last few days, I've ran an ITF with 3 stalkers on the team and a Abandon Sewers Trial with 3 stalkers on the team.
Survivability wasn't a problem.
And yes, stalkers tend to lack the AOE, and really that's never bothered me (other ATs have their single target oriented toons, Stalkers just tend to have it a little more).
Not as tough as a scrapper, but eh, still tough enough.
Just need more BOOM, and not instantly taking out bosses 10 levels lower than me, with AS, was just sad
97.78% Damage in my AS as well, with no procs.
I think upping the damage mod would fix that, or they could just up the AS damage on it's own I guess, without messing with the end/rch.
I'll recheck things tomorrow.
But all in all, I love my Stalker.

Quote:This. For the animations, check out Castle's post in the "Archetypes and Powers" general forum. He's asked what sets we would like to have alternate animations for.
As for the power descriptions, they are there to provide a little bit of flavor. If they go against your character's abilities or how you see them, write that into your bio, and ignore the power descriptions.
If the powers flavor text goes against your concept, ignore it
That flavor text is just like the names of the powers and ATs, it adds flavor to the general game when people look it over and deciding if they'll use it.
Ie...
"Summon the power of the netherworld" sounds better than "melee attacks that use negative energy damage" -
Quote:Exactly, and that to me ruins the fun of the Kheldians. The more I look at them, the more likely I am to just go human form, and adding epics to them (which I don't think needs to be done) doesn't change that. :/The only way I've ever made a decent Tri-form was with dual builds...
In one build I focused on a Human/Nova, in the second Human/Dwarf. Both builds HAD the other form in them, it just wasn't slotted and was used primarily as either an "Oh poop" button or a "Too Easy" button.
-Rachel-
I can see people saying that gives an advantage to Kheldians in the terms of set bonuses (the automatic 6 slotting of form attacks), but I don't think it would be that much, and it would at the very least make the kheldians more enjoyable. -
Quote:Well first thought...Gambler's Cut is better DPS for Scrappers than SotW. I would think that would make it true for Stalkers as well.Just checking in again to see if their are any stalker vets out there willing to help.
I feel I should stress that I have had this stalker awhile and leveled him to 50 buying IO's as I go. The initial build above is my build now. He plays wonderfully and I have np complaints. But can he be better? Is the second build offered the epitome of nin/nin? I am even willing to go more purples if itmeans that is the only way to get the best.
I re-iterate, I promise you I am not a guy looking for a freebie with no work invested. How can m stalker be "all that he can be"
Maybe I didn't tell enough of what I am after. I am looking for something that can do AV solo, but still maintain teaming ability( which I am aware is a hot topic now)
Are the above builds the best? I doubt it to be sure.
Come on stalker community....rally to the side of a fellow stalker.
I thank you for your time
What are some concept defining powers that you consider must haves? -
Having gotten my Stalker to 50, I think think the following...
MORE DAMAGE!
I'm not 1-shotting a level 40 Fake Nemesis without Build Up, with my Assassin Strike!
Moving up to Scrapper damage mods, would likely do it!
Survivability wise, I feel fine. Less health than scrappers, that just makes combat a bit more interresting (not that I'd be oppossed to a max health increase...not a base health increase).
DAMAGE! That's what I like to see! A BIG BOOM!
Blasters can have their AOE NUKES! Stalkers can have their ST NUKES! -
Quote:I thought that "excellent bit of acting" being put in the movie was what brought the whole plot togetherOh man, such a movie........wow.....please make this!
Although I did have one question about the Expendables; when Mickey Rourke had that scene of recounting how he could have saved that woman and didn't I thought to myself "What is this rather excellent bit of acting doing in this movie?"
Seriously though, the Expendables was for the most part a fun movie and a horror movie star Expendables style movie would be awesome.
Did Expendables have the biggest, most complicated plots ever? Nope.
Was it suppossed to? Nope. -

I thought the blonde at the end looked familar, but I just couldn't place her. Maybe it was the blonde hair throwing me off.
Glad to hear another one will be made. I love the series.
As for Alice losing her powers, I recall her being tough and kick-assie in the first one, before getting infected with the virus. My guess is she just lost the telekinesis and a huge bit of her healing. -
I'd love for the art department to go read some comics, and say...hmmm...we should beable to make that costume!
Sooo many hero outfits I see in comics that I wish I could use pieces of. -
I thought it allowed for exemping to level 45. I could be remembering wrong. But I thought the incarnate abilities allowed for a little room in exemping.
-
Not sure I think the Kheldians need APPs. Yeah, they lack those things, but it seems to go against the flavor of Kheldians.
HOWEVER, I do think they could use PPPs, if they decide to go rogue, and it only makes since. They're going rogue, they want more power, and those patrons are willing to give it to them.
Now, this might make a few think they NEED to go rogue, but I likely wouldn't. I only think Kheldians need one thing...automatically 6 slotted attacks in those forms. No, the forms aren't slotted, but the powers those forms use.
It's the only thing I can think of that would make being a triform desirable (to me anyways...which is what I keep wanting to make my kheldians). -
You know, I don't think we need the extra slots, but at the same time I wouldn't be oppossed to an additional slot being granted at lvl 48 and/or 50.
It's more reasonable than those asking for 20 new slots (okay, maybe they're not asking for that many).
I'd just like to 5 slot that lvl 47 and 49 Powers sometimes.
Though I'll freely admit, that's not often.
But then, it might be because I haven't had to many builds that could fit in 4 powers from the epics. -
Out of these two, I'd go with the Wedding Pack.
Both give you emotes, only Wedding Pack gives additional costume options. -
-
I prefere eye candy!
Truth is, I find Archery and Assault Rifle completely boring.
Say what you will about Dual Pistols' animations (and I love them), I don't feel like I'm standing in place. I feel like I'm adding dodging movements in there.
I feel like, OMG, I'm in a comic book. That's why I play the game.
As for movies and animations, it really depends on the special effects.
Seeing the the running tree top to tree top in Naruto, imo, looks better than seeing it in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.
And Matrix! OMG! I wish I had the special effect of Neo's, when he takes off into flight! -
Quote:Either would work.Hmm, what armor sets would be the best for this? Would it have to be a defense set like Nin or would a more balanced set, like Willpower, suffice? Would I have to cap out the relevant defense, or would a power like Shadow Meld be good enough? OR would it be better to get the End powers out of Body Mastery?
If Scrappers can solo AVs with any of their secondaries, it's just as likely a Stalker can solo AVs with any of their secondaries.
The difference in sets, is what you need to build for (usually defense) and just how much added defense do you need? -
Quote:A good way for the thermal is to not see it as thermal! >_>Radiotherapy is the closest I can think of and even that is basically just targetted killing of stuff you don't want to be there.
Heals in general are a bit odd though, "I burn you back to health." from thermal, "I feel your pain, now get up." from empathy and "You think it hurts now?!" from pain dom.
My Elec/Thermal is a telekinetic who's perception of her abilities, cause it to look like flames.

Quote:Stormies and Traps don't have these shields. The least "buff-bot" of the support primaries are dark and rad. All of the other ones have some sort of shield that you should be periodically reapplying to everyone you can. Dark and rad specialize in debuffs, therefore all the powers you pick are helpful solo as well as in teams.
But if you prefer controllers to defenders, then the shield buffs won't go to waste because after level 32 you can buff your pet as you solo.
