that said, they'd probably make good toys for my mind/kin controller! =P
    Annoyingly difficult then ;p

But there are other enemies, that was just one. Rularuu are another difficult group that you don't hear people talking about how easy they are (okay, on Will Power based melee toons, I personally think they become a lot easier, but other sets, not so much).

And there are enemy groups that can eat through many toons, but then 1 or 2 of the right powerset combo's make that enemy fraction weep.
  2. Hmmm...a thought just occured to me...

Does this mean those who can load a map faster than they can travel across the zones, just got a big boon in stepping in the Green Tram in Skyway and exiting the Yellow Tram in Skyway, when wanting to cross the zone?

I get a kick out of the fact that rather than run from the upper corner of the TI map to Citadel (less than a minute), I'll zone to Ouro, then zone to TI. Can an insta-teleport power to any zone in the universe be far off?
No it continues to make what people were already fighting constantly, easier, while the enemies they were avoiding are still just as difficult as ever.

Knives of Artemis (*note: this doesnt mean there arent people who find this group easy...it's just an example), people still avoid, even at easier levels of difficulty, because they find them more difficult.

CoH hasn't become easier, people just avoid some of the more difficult enemies, so it only seems that way.

Whether the proliferated set worked well or not could easily be seen as irrevalent.

Now, EG thinks they might work out to well, and you think they wouldn't work at all. Either way, people would make them (more people would if they're extremely good, while less would if they were terrible).

Personally, I don't see the bad in Illusion Control being ported over from an RP standpoint, so I'm okay with it!

From a mechanical standpoint, eh...i bet it would work out just fine. And might see more use out of flash.

Well, there is a way around this, in that you can make a concept that employs the use of PvP godhood powers...but then that'll be a lot of the same concepts going around.
  6. I'd say because they totally changed PvP, and you have to dual build for some toons, and lots of other reasons.

Let's look at it, you have that purple-pvp IOed out toon. Now let me ask you, how does it handle in PvE? Probably not as well (this is a guess on my part...so maybe you do handle very well.).

Now from an RP perspective, how does it make since, that a toon that solo's AVs, gets their butt handed to them by a toon that can't handle them at all?

How does that Supergirl inspired concept, get their butt handed to them by the "i'm just a normal human with a sword, and really weak, who has to be careful because one wrong punch to the face can kill me, because I made a RP concept so weak to seem more RP friendly" in a PvP match, because the "weak RP concept" has the better PvP power sets?

Also, there are the I came to RP not work out the best mechanically better toon, people.

Not to mention, people take concept powers that subtract from making a PvP viable toon, but can still be made into a PvE powerhouse.

Face it, one of the common things to do in PvP toon is take Super Speed and Super Jump. Think this is something that a lot of concepts would do? Especially when Super Jump is probably one of the least used travel styles in the genre?

Super speed isn't that much more common.

Fly and something akin to Ninja Run mobility is more common.

Let's not forget some of the people in PvP zones are just plain rude. And some players can't handle it.

I took my stalker into a PvP zone for the first time (knowing it wasn't setup for PvP), and got messages like "go RP, your build sucks" now of course I knew my build sucked for PvP.

For one, I didn't fit in the concealment on a stalker, so I was seen easily... While I just laughed it off, other players are going to take it harder (don't know why, don't ask me). And if they've experienced that enough, why would they want to take any RP to a PvP match?

Though in the end, I'd say a lot of it has to do with the changes to PvP. If it kept more inline with PvE, I think it would go over better for RPers, except for defense based toons, who can't handle having the same weakness in PvP (+to hit) that they do in PvE (+to hit). Seeing as how, anyone who PvP tends to have those +to hit powers, so those defense based toons will feel it a lot more often.

And even then, that's only a bit of it. Population of Virtue is so diverse, there are different ideas that go with what is what, and really, it's just best to stick with like minded individuals, which of course, by the sound of your post, means you go to the D, which is filled with so many different versions of what people consider okay in RP, that wanting to have every fight end up in a PvP match just isn't going to happen, whether the people involved mind losing and/or winning at all.

But isn't that to be expected? Look at what you've seen in RP. That Empath toon that could heal you constantly before, all of a sudden had her powers weakened on you, because it didn't fit with your storyline of "i'm injured and need time to heal, and your healing powers would ruin my story now". (*note the use of you was in general and not pointed at you).

Long story short...no matter how you or anyone else RP, it's not going to fit in with a vast majority of how others RP! It's to be expected when there are no set rules to the system like there is with a Pen and Paper RP. And your never going to agree on the rules with a majority of the other players.

So, when you run into those who don't see eye to eye with you on how to RP, best bet is to just walk away.

I don't like villains, at this point I only have two villains whom I'm in the process of converting to heroes. So the prospect of spending 2 days to convert my heroes to villains and another two taking them back to hero side is very unappealing.

Please consider adding an equivalent mission hero side without a faction change.
I'm actually okay with it. And I hate redside (I just don't get into it as well as I do blueside, I think mostly because I just prefere playing the hero types).

And I say this with the intent to take some heroes redside, purely for Soul Mastery (Soul Storm is just to awesome for dark type concepts).

    Hopefully, anyway.
Given the specific definition of 'inherent' we have in this game it wouldn't make sense for them to have promoted it the way they have and then make it cost power choices.
It may be done a bit like the vet rewards. You have them, but unless you unlock them, you don't get them.

This way, those who didn't like the idea of having swift and/or hurdle can still opt out of having swift/hurdle.

I'm not sure about linking the trains and ferries either... but I suppose it's a nice boon to a rogue on a task force or a vigilante on a strike force. ^_^
So think it's free powers that are optional to pickup? That way those who didn't want Swift/Hurdle, don't have to take them?
  10. I tend to use the spiked collar a lot, so hadn't noticed the neck doing this, however, is this why I've seen a few clippings in hair styles and head details, that I know weren't there before?

Still, it'd be nice if Fly had a "super sonic boost" effect done with teleportation like Shield Charge or Lightning Rod.

Or at least if they gave Fly a secondary effect that didn't come with temp power flight.

    .
I don't think that's the problem, at least with Fly.

Super Speed moves that fast after all.

I think it has to do with putting a limitation on Fly, because it offers a vertical movement, while Super Speed is for the most part horizontal.

  16. Not that I'm against it, but seeing as how you know...instead of completeing the mission and logging out, why not just exit the mission?

I mean, yes, it's a QoL change, but if it even took a few hours, I'd rather they work on something else, than something people can just hit the exit button on, and be done with.

Just something I wanted to throw out here, as I'm so very sick of people complaining about it in team. I know people are going to say to hover over the mobs, but that's still not very effective.
When did knockback become broken, that it needed fixing?

Not that I'm this big fan of knockback, but if it bothers me that much, I just won't pick the set. If it doesn't I learn to work with it.

My DB/WP Scrapper had QR, Stamina, Physical Perfect, Numina/Miracle Unique, and 3 Performance Shifters.

Even with almost softcapped defenses, every now and again, something would get through and I'd be a sad sad scrapper.

Now, if you're Dark Melee, you'd get the added benefit of Dark Consumption. Which might help, but you'd still run into enemies who can drain you, if you don't actively avoid them anyways.

Awww...the memories...took my DB/WP scrapper on an AE mission with my SG. Wasn't dying, neither was one other SG member, we both had IOed OMG is this perfection builds...then WHAP WHAP WHAP, where'd the END GO?! ACK the toggles! *sigh* Faceplanted.

Wouldn't of been so bad, but we were talking big, and the RNGGod came in and laughed at us. OUCH!

Of course, that was so rare, it wasn't that big of a deal, but the point stands. You're not likely to lose END with that combo of powers, but it can and will happen if you bother to actually go to different enemies outside of "OMG! Look! I can take on +4/8 Council"

Like Malta Sappers! Sometimes there will be multiple in the spawn. And sometimes the RNG will hate you. And when that happens...even if it's once in a blue moon...my point is...try not to be talking big when it happens >_> heh

Illusion won't work very well for Dominators for the simple reason that it only gets 3 powers in the entire set that get any benefit at all from Domination, and most Illusion players I've seen skip one of them (Flash)

On another note, Dark Blast for blasters is extremely unlikely to happen. They'd have to gut the set horribly to make it work.

Why? Because blasters already get 2 of the key powers in their PPPs. Nightfall is in it, and Soul Tentacles is identical to Tenebrous Tentacles with a different name. I suppose they could replace one of them with Dark Obliteration, but that still leaves 2 powers in need of replacing.

What's the 3rd power you ask? Life Drain. If the devs continue with their track record, blasters will never get a real self-heal power in a primary or secondary powerset (No, Drain Psyche is NOT a self heal, if you use it while your health is in the red it will not save you)

Super Reflexes wouldn't work very good for tanks. I don't have anything major against them getting it, it would just be a crappy set for the job tanks are meant to do. Try tanking a DE mission that has a lot of Quartz dropping LTs with an SR and let me know how that works out for you. Anything with higher than normal accuracy will shred an SR tank in seconds flat. SR doesn't get any significant resistances or HP buffs or a heal or anything other than pure defense. If something bypasses that defense your tank is going to drop like a toilet seat.

I'd like to keep at least 1 set that is unique to each AT, but unfortunately that will be kind of hard to do now, since most of them have already been proliferated. Ice Armor and Melee are the only tank exclusive sets. Illusion, Poison, and Ninjitsu are the only other sets that are unique. (I'm not counting Blaster and Dominator secondaries because they are ALL unique because of the nature of those ATs)

I'd like to see tanks and brutes get Spines, but I'm aware that it's unlikely. I'd also like Regen on brutes, but that probably won't happen either.

A reworked form of Illusion would be cool on Dominators, but it probably wouldn't be very popular. One the the major things that would have to be done is replace some powers with others that will get benefit from Domination. As it currently stands, Illusion Control would make the ATs inherent nearly useless (it would be click mez protection on a long recharge and an end refill, and that's about it)
A lot of tanks have that enemy they're weak to. SR/ tanks wouldn't be any different. Also, the scaling resists would mean a bit more to a Tanker, as they have more hit points.

Not that I personally care to make a SR/ Tanker, just saying.
  22. Can we get a Pistol Buff/Debuff set with this as well?

Tier 2 can be Healing Bullet
Tier 9 can be summon Metal Dragon (stationary pet)

<_<;; What? I want my Witch Gunslinger!
  23. Technically, you already can! Make a second toon, that's similar to the first, say they're the same, and join a second supergroup!

  25. There I was, walking through the local Wal-Mart Electronics section.

When what to my suprise, I see a box titled City of Heroes.

I had played an MMO before. Final Fantasy XI. So, pay to play wasn't new to me. And this! This! It was a superhero game! I had to give it a try! I mean, you're a superhero! And I was just imagined myself making what would be considered a Dual Pistols/Willpower nanotech infused superhero (basically a character I created long before CoH).

Well, much to my dismay, I couldn't make such a toon (still can't >_> just saying) however, I could make a superheroes! WHOOT! I was in! This was in the beginning of January, the beginning of i3, and where the only team I could really find, was Winterlord teams!

Ended up deleting that first toon, hating the build because I didn't know what I was doing at all. And made a new one!

    Been here ever sense!
