I'll have to go unsigned for a lot of the reasons already mentioned.
A personal one, for someone unwilling to do the math may sound nice, but really, ST DPS only matters in times of big pile of hit points, and the devs time could be spent on something to much better than that.
And AOE DPS, well hell, I can already tell who's doing more AOE DPS than me, just by watching the screen
Or rather, I can tell it's that Shield Melee with additional AOE, and that Fire Blaster, than my DB/WP Scrapper

Kill them. All of them. Each and every one. Replace them with NPCs that are already frequently visited, accessible and thematically fitting, like, oh, trainers. Add a dialogue option saying something along the lines of "I would like trade in my merits" and voila, the problem of the random costume button victim overpopulation is solved. -

I have a serious issues with the Invention System. Because we have a system that is designed to place IOs at a particular level you receive lower values for that IO because it is a lower level. However we also have an exemplar system which allows you to go back and do other content. The issue I have is that this often makes the lower IO's more valuable than the higher value IO's. Also I have an issue when I roll for recipes with Merits or AE Tickets I set the value at level 35-39 but if I am level 50, I get a level 50 IO. Now if I roll an entire set of something like I did with some Positrons I only get the bonuses at higher levels not lower ones.
This system seems somewhat backwards to me. Its like it penalizes higher level rolls making them less valuable and less desirable.
I think its time to really rethink how the IO system works.

There is no reason to keep accolades that are re-earnable. And they really don't take that long to get. So, again, no reason to do a full repsec. Not to mention the devs have said absolutely not to this idea. No matter how many times it is brought up, they will not change their minds on this as it would go against their whole idea of the game and against all of the work they have done to make the game what it is.

And again, why not just ask for all of the anniversary badges to be globalized. There is no reason for an AT/power respec. Much less to start back at level 1. Might as well re-roll.
Mind you, most of my 50's have at least 2 of the 4 accolades that grant +Health/+End. -

Also, I am a little worried about the taunt in the power that adds the regen and to-hit debuff. I have had trouble with a scrapper with /shield who had a power that also was an AoE taunt and he got a fair bit of aggro.

edit: oh! and my highest-level character is about lvl 46 and only has about 20 million inf so the big budget on IO sets is not really an option (yet).
I wouldn't worry about putting Aid Self in the build, unless you A) happen to have the power slots B) the IO sets to up your defense c) It happens to work with your concept.
I've done fine with WP's regen and greens, and doing just fine with just RTTC when I go solo after AVs.
But Aid Self would add a self heal, something to think about if you have the slots/powers, but not untill you have the defense to use it.
As for the IOs, just start working on getting them through Hero Merits.

I, and many others, generally like 3 Nucleolus/3 Golgi HOs, which is assuming that you're running the MG>Smite>SL>Smite chain, for which the global recharge that you've needed to accumulate will cover the recharge needed for SL. Others like to slot for more recharge in case they need to spam it even faster for added survivability, though I've never found the need on my DM/SD or DM/Regen. -

I'm still okay with it setting you back to level 1, so you can keep the badges, myself.
So, yes for the power set/AT respec, and no for the level 50. -
Well, if you go with level 50 Generic IOs...
2 ACC/2 DMG/1 RCH/1 ENDRED
Pretty close to the ED cap on ACC and DAM right there. Not the top, but nothing to big to worry about. -

But I think it was 96 or 98 DPS to take down an AV, and that's doing like 1 point of damage a second over their Regen rate. So it would be a LONG fight. -
Regen = lots of redraw
WP = hardly ever redraw
Regen = Watch the health bar. Lag can mean death.
WP = toggle and go. -

I'm a big advocate for over-the-top crazy types of action movies, and I feel like I would love Bay if he were given the right movie to make (and if someone kept a tight reign on him).
But for me, Transformers ain't it. Maybe he'll actually have learned a bit from the criticisms of the second movie and adjust accordingly, but I'm not expecting too much. His track record in that department isn't stellar.
Yeah, he has to put up with a few critics on what, the net, the vocal minority? And a few critics? Pffft.
What he should really be doing is judging himself by the ticket sales, and for the life of me, I can't think of a movie of his, that he directed that totally bombed.

Now...maybe "The Island" was considered a bomb, but it even made a profit 173m on a budget of 126m. I'm sure that's considered a bomb, but figure that's more money than a lot of movies that come out.
I'd say the general populous enjoys his movies. The internet just has a way of making it seem like everyone hates something.
It's kinda like going to the comic con and thinking the rave reviews from that will equal success, then watching the movie bomb.

I think it could be done, but it would be more limited than others on the AVs it could take.
And like mentioned, purpled out doesn't really mean anything.
Takes layering defenses and getting in the DPS. -
