Unacceptable! They should make themselves available 24 hours a day. Every day. Holidays or not. Busy schedules or not. I don't care what their current undertakings entail. I need forum answers. I need them immediately. The devs need to cave to my every whim! Anything less is deplorable.

Dinah very nicely wished me a happy Chinese New Year a few weeks ago. Made me smile.

I am doing the same thing with a scrapper right now. I have not outfitted him with any influence. Any salvage is being sold at 1 inf, and any recipe is being put up at the lowest amount in the most recent transactions. Thus far, I am using only SO's.
He's currently at level 37 with 180-odd million inf.
I'd also like to echo the "the game can be played 1-50 using only SOs" sentiment, as all three of my level 50 characters did just that. -
Jesus, can people not create channels without having to compare themselves to the "other" channel?

Quote:I disagree.Well sending a petition got me into the last close beta...! How I look at it is I think the Veterans should get the first crack on new content and base it on how many hours you put into the game.
I think that opening it up to both veterans and new people alike offers a better beta experience from the development point of view. If you want to offer sweeping changes, why restrict the ability to see them in advance only to long-term subscribers? If you want to keep people hooked, you're going to want to offer them a say.
Likewise, it's better to get both the opinion of the established player, with the fresh eyes of a newcomer. Let's face it... people in general tend to dislike change. Gamers especially. You're going to want people who aren't going to piss and moan about the "old days" and offer insight on what they'd like to see in a product.
As well, I think that if someone can pester their way into a closed-beta, it completely invalidates the process. And I think that by mentioning you petitioned to get an invite... you've completely blacklisted yourself from future testing process. -

Congrats to all.
I hope there will be celebratory poutine for Melissa in the lunchroom. -
All I want is a Radioactive Melee/Armour set for Tanks, Scrappers and Brutes. I'm not creative enough to draw up an outline for it. Make it happen, Cap'n.

SO SPEAKING OF PENGUINS...
A friend of mine is incapable of pronouncing the word. He's just never been able to. He's a very eloquent speaker, and has no other difficulties with speech. Just the one word. Since we were kids, he's pronounced it "Pen-Wing". -
I'm not knowledgeable regarding laptops at all.... but a coworker of mine got this one last week and is happy thus far...

I've only ever heard "dink" as in "Dual Income, No Kids", and someone who's being an idiot. (Or in reference to toy cars... "dinky cars", when I was a kid)
According to Wikipedia, it's also a derogatory word for someone of Chinese descent. I am of Chinese descent, and this is news to me. -

I did the KHTF the other day for the first time in at least a year. She remained level 34. I could have sworn Mary gradually spawned higher. I thought I was remembering incorrectly.
Glad to know I'm not crazy. -

On a band's message board. Elizabeth and I had both been members of the message board for years. We started talking one night, we had both recently broken up with significant others, and we consoled one another. We kept in communication for some time. We'd both come to the realization we had feelings for one another. It was hard to do anything about it, since I was in Ontario, and she was in Philly.
A few months, and a few failed flings later, we both realized how much we cared for one another, and I booked a flight to Philly. As soon as I saw her in person, I knew she was the one I was meant to marry. We maintained a long distance relationship with a few visits between us for less than a year, and we were married in Pennsylvania in November of 2004. -
I had been toying with the idea of buying CoH since it launched. I saw the box in EB Games, I thought it looked interesting, but hadn't warmed up to the idea of an MMO. The "nerd" stigma (such as Cherry mentioned for Jonnie) was part of it, the concept of paying monthly was another. I also thought it would be weird playing with people I didn't know... I'd never played an online game before. Also, I was soon-to-be-married, so I forgot all about it.
Years passed of me considering it, and one day, my wife decided to try WoW. She said, "You should play that Superhero game you've been talking about". Eventually, I said something like, "Well.. it can't be any nerdier than WoW, why not?" So, we both downloaded the trial.
She got to the server select screen while mine was patching. She asked which server we should try, and she listed them. It was between Champion and Protector, as I thought they seemed the most heroic. Champion won.
I wound up buying a couple of days later. She has characters on this account on Freedom, and I have all my characters but two here on Champion. When my new PC arrives, she'll get this one, and we'll reactivate her account. She will play on Champion, I'll make sure of it. -
I noticed this for the first time last weekend, as well

Quote:(...)because the devs are dragging their feet on the release of going rogue. (...) So I am allowing my account to expire and spending my money on something that doesn't suck until the devs pull their fingers out their butts and finish going rogue. the way it's looking it will be march before the release
So it was announced in May 2009.
It is now January, 2010.
In what world is it reasonable to expect a game to be announced, tested, finished and released in 8 months? -
Quote:Emphasis mine. And you're honestly surprised you were generic'd?J does not stand for joint however J is directly related to drugs, however I honestly dont see how its offensive.. I could just have ment the letter J.
And, forgive me... but what other drug could "roll me another J" be referencing, if not a joint? All my life, a "J" was a joint. PM me, if this would be deemed inappropriate to the thread.
