At least they used a spell-checker.

Some supposed trial account user was in Atlas yesterday, asking everyone if he could borrow their account to help his friend. You can imagine how that went.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

Heh. Might as well have read : I saw what you did there. Visit this link or else!

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

"dink" is a racial slur. Kindly edit your post to remove it.

Dink has many definitions. One other is from investment portfolios that means Dual Income No Kids.

Dink is in this instance an ANGIEISM that means dork, moron, someone with less than stellar intelligence as any one will let you know that plays with me since I use the term often and with much enthusiasm.

But since I do not want to offend anyone I'll replace it with one of the afore mentioned phrases. However I will continue to use dink in polite conversation Only it means what I want it to mean.

Oh and please, if I ever post anything that is extremely offensive kindly send me a PM and I'll be happy to correct the mistake.

That's the only one I had ever heard, and I have many friends who call themselves that with pride.

I think whoever wrote that went to the Elkie School of English.

dink? really? no, i mean, srsly? Im not sure what side of the playgroud youre from, but, where im from, and based on my education, dink means
dual income no kids... now granted, i doubt thats how she meant it but to call it a racial slur comming out of ANGIES MOUTH is total and utter crap.

I went to wikipedia and dink means 5000 other things other than a racial slur..

Just because thats how you chose to interpet her meaning, doesnt mean we all do. Starting a racial discussion on such an innocuous word is ludicrous. Please, dont make such assumptions in the future and perhaps take into consideration who said it in the 1st place.

I've only ever heard "dink" as in "Dual Income, No Kids", and someone who's being an idiot. (Or in reference to toy cars... "dinky cars", when I was a kid)

According to Wikipedia, it's also a derogatory word for someone of Chinese descent. I am of Chinese descent, and this is news to me.

Thank you, Champion.

you should use urbandictionary.com not wikipedia

Wikipedia deletes all the good stuff

Seriously. Yes. Seriously.

I made no assumption of your or anyone else's interpretation, only my own.

Since when does someone being a good person take away from the fact that they said something that offended someone? Good intentions mean nothing. Sure someone who knows her knows she is not the type of person to intentially use a racial slur. That doesn't change the fact that someone was offended and that the word is indeed a racial slur.

A long time ago I made the mistake of arguing about a racial slur someone used. While to this day I feel my point was right it doesn't change the fact that someone was hurt and offended that someone used that word. Dink is indeed a slur against Vietnamese people. The person who was offended just so happens to be married to a Filipino husband and have Filipino children (if memory serves me right). Maybe she could have sent a private p.m. instead of calling her out on the public forums. That doesn't change the fact that she was offended and asked politely for the edit. It also doesn't change the fact that its her right to do so.

On a side note Angie I know you are not that type of person, ty for being a bigger person and making the requested edit. :-)

*what really tickled me was definition #7. lolwut?

Context, people. The word, as used in the original post, was innocent.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.

Chinese actually, but you summed it up perfectly Critkat.

For the record, I realize the OP isn't "that kind of person", thus the request to have the wording changed.

If your man's "business end" makes you think of that word.......you need to find yourself a new man.

If each of us spoke up to 1 thing that we found offensive, like i said in a previous post in relation to mo's avatar, 90% of these public forums wouldnt be here.

I do believe that a couple things should have perhaps been looked at 1st before such a complaint is lodged, openly. You meerly mention the word racial and people stand up and take notice and a lot of people are passionate about this subject. My Dad was Jewish, My Mom is Italian. Im very mindful of racial sensitivities.

Why have something corrected if you know that angie "isnt that kind of person". That tells me that the way you chose to interpet the word, was infact, incorrect.

Im sorry, I dont typically hit up urban dictionary to get clairification on whats hip and not hip these days. I guess im just old school.

I had to laugh. When I went to Wiki this is what they say : The definitions on Urban Dictionary are meant to be those of slang or subculture words, phrases, and phenomena not found in standard dictionaries

if you use this as a reliable source for information its bound to be offensive to someone. Lets use something im quite passionate about, shall we?

Cupcake : http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cupcake

Had the OP been, oh, say, budweiser or elf stalker.. ok, perhaps.

I think i can speak for a lot when I say we all knew that wasnt how angie meant it. Angie removed it because thats how angie is... shes a sweet girl.. which, if that was perhaps looked at in the 1st place, we'd not be on this depressing topic now.
