    Ice/FF soloer?

BoI will last long enough to serve its purpose..I just need to get whatever Im hitting with it to stop attacking. If the market is kind to me I would outfit it with HOs for dmg/mez.

AA's end reduc and confuse stand at 80% and with the confuse proc i I have never needed to max out the confuse component.

You are probably right about the mako's...Im just used to getting every point of end reduc I can since my whole build kinda hinges on AA and with this kinda of attack chain IM looking to burn thru my blue bar pretty fast.

    Ice/FF soloer?

This is my oldest active/badge toon but he's just not been able to keep up with the times...after a long break Im back in the game and wanted to bring him up to par. This was the best overall attempt I could muster without purples. I dont expect to own everything but I want to be able to solo at a decent rate.

This is very true. More time spent redrawing guns is less time filling them with bullets. Also ff/ defenders can make ANY team softcapped..talk about easy mode!

this is my all-around TF toon. i exemplar fairly often and spend the lot of my time in melee.

i dont have as much global rech as i like but im usually firing off siphon speed as often as its up anyways. i decided to give a couple of perks in favor of beefing up my mez resistance b/c its just been bugging me that much lol.

if anyone has any ideas(beyond adding purples..i will work them in one day maybe) im all ears

  5. only a couple of small tweaks from what im seeing
-you can trade out one of those EA's in stamina/PP for the PS +end proc
-rearrange some of those IOs b/c almost every attack has little..if any..end reduc

otherwise..very impressive numbers across the board
  6. Bots are the top aoe MMs, tho a good thug mm can almost match them. Bots are easier b/c they are much more self-efficient than any other set. I prefer thugs just as a concept thing.

I love the bruiser, especially after I picked up all 4 pet IOs.

I also like that thugs can work well in melee or at range.

Id say roll the thug just to have a different set to toy around with.
  7. @nomorekrazy
Yes imo I would take aid self on a /ea brute..but my usual thing is to just tweak what the OP presents to best overall performance. Personally Id drop taunt and either dampening field or overload in favor of aid self. My reasoning for DW partly is the rech bonus..but also b/c the heal is so minimal while the end rec is decent on its own.

    @sensai
Energy drain is up every...23 sec w/o hasten. I picked focused acc b/c its a nice way to get some nifty bonuses, namely the +2.5 def to all. Plus I really hate missing when i want to smash things. If you dont like it you can keep your softcaps to everything i mention above w/o it.
  8. At higher lvls /MM will be more survivable and more damaging. Also, it doesnt hurt to have a different type of dmg at your disposal. Psy is rarely resisted(even tho when it is the mobs are practically immune).

Either way you will be forced to be ducking in and out of melee to maximize your pbaoe's so my vote goes to the one that helps you live longer and keep pumping out the dmg
  9. This is my take on your build. S/L/E/F/C are all 48% or higher..but seeing as /EA doesnt have the DDR Id like I dont think its overkill since you have almost nothing to help you during a cascading defense failure.

IMO Id go for the spiritual incarnates to get a little more recharge for energy drain and power siphon..tho the nerve sets would be a solid choice as well.

  10. For my own stone/wp brute I went for as much +hp and enough defense to feel comfortable without breaking the bank. So now I sit around 2700 hp and 30-35% defense to all types. I also run darkest night and almost nothing can stop me.
  11. D3!!! Dark miasma is the #1 soloing/team friendly secondary to me. Traps has a lot of great points as well but I like dark better as a playstyle preference.

Dark gives you some of everything..heal/buff/debuff/crowd control/FLUFFY/stealth.

Dark mastery doesnt give you a 2nd hold BUT it has a much better soul drain plus a self rez. You can turn a team wipe into a massive resurrection party and make a grand comeback.
  12. Dark works very well with wp and inv...I was never a fan of regen's clicky nature.

If you plan to invest in the toon invuln will likely come out ahead overall, tho wp is always amazing out of the box.

    this made me lol
  14. poke thru the forums a bit...should be hundreds of fire/kin builds out there to pick from
  15. BlissfulChaos

    Potted Plant?

none of the plant powers require you to be grounded. roots not only misses higher targets but you cant even cast it at things beyond its ground clearance.

fissure does, however, require you be grounded and seeing as how much you will be wanting to spam that power, i recommend cj anyways. plus, as a kin getting immob can mean certain doom and wasted buffs. but as a kin you work better in melee anyways. i used to farm on my plant/kin/stone before my brute hit 50
  16. BlissfulChaos

    Team of 2

i took a look at the builds..but im not near mids so i cant post a modified version.

imo i think you can make better use of several slots.

here's my take on changes to make

    for both builds
-both shields for both are underslotted..minimum 3 to make them more useful
-aim and PBU are overslotted, 2 rech should be ok unless you just really want the set bonuses
-drop medicine. he heals are interruptible and with all your buffs you are better off popping respites. you dont even slot them anyways
-get all of leadership powers..with dual defenders and double assault yall will be beefing up your own dmg a whopping 38%. Tactics will get better use from gaussian sets proc anyway. This way it will randomly proc when tactics is running, versus the tiny chance it has to proc when you use aim
-stamina..2 end mods and thats all
-i dont like sniper attacks...but the sets bonuses are spiffy, im partial to sting of the manticore myself tho

-just put a lotg 7.5 in hover
    -positron beats detonation any day
-use 3-4 LotG sets in the defense powers...much more useful
-with the changes to flight, fly just needs either an end reduc IO or a stealth IO

    the sonic
-liquefy...2-3 rech, anything else is secondary
-disruption field, drop a slot, 2 is fine

    the bubbler
-torrent needs DMG...you have insane KB as it is
-force bubble just needs 1 end reduc...its more situational so it doesnt need much love

wow that was shorter in my head...um..on the plus side yall can make these changes and not be broke but be WAY more effective for teams and duoing
  17. On my stone/wp brute i got the best results slotting for typed defenses and +hp/regen. my s/l/f/c/e/n are all 30-35%, tack on my high resistances to s/l, and the mitigation with the the knockdown...all adds up to one very tough hombre. I just keep mobs parked on their butts while I take out the high priority targets.

IMO I never really understood slotting for a lot of recharge on WP or claws. WP has no use for it at all and claws is one of the fastest sets out there. I think hasten is a bit of a waste on claws. Even with only moderate global recharge your attack chain should be solid, especially since you pick up shockwave. Titan was on right track saying to cover your weaknesses b/c they will catch up with you.
  18. the drain really isnt that bad...while i dont run it on my brute anymore i dont remember it being a real issue b/c i was generally around 80% or higher on my end thx to the rec buff
  19. yeah...DP wont wow you with big numbers but thats DP for ya. but at least you look pretty doing your job!
  20. base 7.5% to all melee, range, and aoe
    slotted around 10-11%

take into account you only get 1 shield yourself, just like the protector bots themselves
  21. BlissfulChaos

    Thug/dark

i went for a mix of resistances and defense..throwing in rech where i could..wondering if i should go more into defense

  22. not bad for a what it does, id only change a few things myself. nice and cheap too, my favorite option XD

-siphon speed seems overslotted to me, maybe 1 acc and 1 rech, but you will likely not need to be worried about casting it as often as its up with that much global rech..on my own elec/kin i know I dont have this much rech and im still too busy

-from your procs im guessing you plan to use the basic ammo more often than not b/c my understanding is the procs only go off when whatever their respective effect is being used. that being said i find I get more from the fire ammo vs anything else.

here's my slightly tweaked version...loses some rech but i softcap your s/l

  23. corruptors are pretty straight-forward for their overall playstyle.

here's some options for soloing 1-50..
-fire: probably the best overall pick..not much in the way of mitigation but ots ST and aoe dmg are hard to beat

-ice:very good ST dmg, alright aoe, 2 holds for troublesome enemes(such bosses, sappers, etc)

-sonic:nice ST dmg, the cone sleep as amazing for mitigation, plus the -res aspect lets you rip thru targets

other set worth a nod is dark for its -tohit, a self heal, its not often resisted even higher lvls, and tentacles is a great cone attack that can keep mobs in place for whatever debuffs you may have

    good secondaries would be..
dark:again my overall top pick. you can heal yourself, monster debuffs, massive stun via the res power, and Fluffy..one of my favorite pets in the game, great crowd control, plus built-in stealth

-traps: arguably the best soloing secondary out there. its defbuffs mobs, the ff generator gives you lots of defense and a lovely layer of mez protection

-rad:not as friendly on your blue bar early in your career but you do get AM to help with that to an extent, while offering some degree of mez protection

-storm:lots of debuffs with freezing rain, hurricane, snowstorm; at higher lvls the extra dmg fro tornado and lightning storm is quite nice..this set has a slightly higher learning curve compared the previous sets tho

thats the better options that ive seen on forums and from personal experience
  24. i would strongly recommend dark/ice or dark/dark. dark miasma alone is amazing and those 2 secondaries give some extra mitigation and do respectable damage for a defender. rad blast is also not a bad option

here's the biggest reasons why dark is nice..
-1 anchored toggle, and its amazing
-built in stealth via shadow fall
    -can heal itself
-fluffy is one of the best pets in the game imo
-howling twilight is the games only aoe rez for teams..AND its a massive debuff(great opening power for soloing)
-basically every power(except black hole) is great for teams and still very useful for soloing

i like dark blast b/c its not commonly resisted and the extra -tohit adds up. plus stack dark pit on top of HT to neuter any retaliation from mobs while you set up tar patch and darkest night..then keep them there with tentacles

ice is just awesome ST damage and you can effectively handle most anything thrown your way b/c you have access to 3 holds total. also tar patch + ice storm = awesome
  25. scratch that...i still need all the rech i can muster for ice slick...permadom gets to be a nifty bonus lmao
