Bots/Dark - Thugs/Dark -

This is not really meant to just be a thugs vs bots thread, but I had a question. I think most people seem to agree that Thugs do more damage normally than Bots. I was thinking though that at level 50 the main damage dealer of thugs will be much lower level than the main damage dealer of Bots. It just seems to me that the Assault Bot would end up doing much more damage overall than the Arsonist against higher level enemies of perhaps +3 or higher? I also think that the Assault bot lives MUCH longer than the arsonist which means more damage.

I am just wanting to make another MM, but I am stuck between the two. I am thinking Bots/Dark since I already had a L50 Bots/Traps I deleted to make room a few years ago. I also already had a Thugs/Dark I also deleted years ago. I always wanted to take a MM to blue side so I am ready to make them again.

How is the bruiser now?, especially compared to the Assault bot. He was OK back when I had him, but I did not use the first upgrade since it caused KB which was annoying and I see that has changed. I know he is supposed to be a "tank" type pet, but it just seems like he would run in and take alpha and die in a few seconds lol. Let me know what you guys think. Any opinions on end game play would be appreciated also!

I have a 50 Bots/Dark and a 30 Thugs/Traps (not the identical comparison you are looking for but close).

My Bots/Dark was one of the easiest characters to level to 50 for me. Love both sets a million zillion times over.

I'm have a lot of fun with my Thugs/Traps, but as I level him, I find myself giving the edge to the bots a bit more.

Now in fairness, I don't have the level 32 upgrade for my Thugs/Traps yet, so we'll see. /Dark is also incredibly useful on teams.

Bots are the top aoe MMs, tho a good thug mm can almost match them. Bots are easier b/c they are much more self-efficient than any other set. I prefer thugs just as a concept thing.

I love the bruiser, especially after I picked up all 4 pet IOs.

I also like that thugs can work well in melee or at range.

Id say roll the thug just to have a different set to toy around with.
