Not looking to go over builds or anything too specific, just a general comment. Trying to find what may pair well with Water Blast and I was thinking of giving Dark a try. Haven't tried /dark yet so not familiar with how it performs for Blasters. I see a lot of talk about Water/Fire (theme wise and aoe dmg wise).
Is there any glaring issues with paring WB/Dark together that I should know about?

On my journey of making one of each class pimped out at 50, I have turned to a defender now.
I REALLY want to do something with traps and was thinking that Traps/Fire might bring a nice blend of damage with traps. My goal is to focus on trials and end game content while helping out a team as much as possible.
Any suggestions on a good Traps/Fire build (or reasons why Traps/* else would be better) would be greatly appreciated! -

Need some advice here...
I currently have a 50 Shield/SS tank and a 50 Fire/Fire brute. I enjoy playing both of them. Being that I have pretty bad alt-itis (about 40+ toons), I'm trying to focus on a few which brings me to my question.
I would like to be able to farm but also be able to do trials and TF's effectively. I know the Fire/Fire brute can do fire farms and the Shield/SS tank is beefy.
If INF is not a problem (which it isn't), my concerns are this:
a) If I focus on the brute (who I know can farm), is he going to have problems handling certain trial/TF content in a "tanking" roll?
b) If I focus on the tank, will he not farm as efficiently as the brute?
c) If I made up a new toon and went SS/Fire brute, would he be SO much better than the Fire/Fire brute for farming (I know, it comes down to personal play style choices also) and again, would I then have a brute who couldn't tank the hardest stuff?
Part of me wants to keep the brute for farming and the tank for tanking, but again, this is my alt-itis talking and I would love to combine the too.

Looking to create a new character and need some suggestions.
* Money isnt an issue
* Want ranged damage as much as possible
* Looking for that "Damn! Just dropped the hammer on that dude!"feel to his attacks.
* No sonic
Going for the character equivalent of a big bad battle cannon blasting away.
Kind of like when a fury fueled WM brute hits something, you can just feel the OOMPH!

Ok...so did a bunch of reading, did some looking around at other builds and am ready for some comments
I know that some of the slotting could be better with purples, but I'm trying to do this one w/o purples first to see how much I play him and then will purple down the road.
I'm thinking of musculature for the +dmg.
Two things I would like to change with this build but not sure how I would:
1) I have a full set of the MM AIO enhancements. Not sure how to best use them in this build.
2) I would really like to gbet photon grenade in here somewhere but not sure what to swap out.
As always, comments/suggestions are greatly suggested!

Have a 50 bots/dark who was my first 50. Currently he is SO'd out, but I would love to start trying incarnate content with him. I am horrible with builds using sets and couldnt find any posts with build info that was current. Any builds/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Had a question about what sets to use for the ST attacks while i work on getting the Kinetic sets.

Been playing for a while but have really fallen behind when it comes to doing builds with all the sets. I read back about 7 or 8 months and couldn't find any threads about War Mace & Elec Armor.

I have 4 Illusion Controllers with different secondaries at 50 with a 5th getting there, and each one plays differently. I also have 4 */Rads and 4 */Storms. I have a Gravity/Storm that I finally got to 50 after trying Grav/Rad and Grav/Kin and Grav/Therm. Each combination of primary and secondary plays differently.

Ice/Fire is the reverse of the classic Fire/Ice. It is nearly as survivable and puts out a whole lot more damage as it makes up for Ice/'s lack of AoE damage.
Ice/Energy with decent range slotting and Alpha Cardiac lets you hit long range with your AoE (with Posi 5 slotted [all but the proc] and a HO centriole and boost range, Frost Breath range - 78.22, Ice Storm and Blizzard range - 117.3)
Ice/???/Ice gives you access to Hibernate you can annoy a bunch of mobs from around a corner, drop Ice storm where you are standing, Blizzard > Cab > Hibernate and giggle as stuff hits the invulnerable you for too long for them to run out of the Ice Storm + Blizzard combo.
Ice/????/ and any PPP will give you an AoE Immob to keep stuff from moving out of your Ice storm and Blizzard.
There really isn't a bad combo with Ice/, the only caveat is that there isn't much synergy with /Dev or /Dark. -
I have always wanted a character with Ice blast. I know ice isn't the "OMG PWN" numbers of fire blast but that is fine.
I can't decide what to combine it with though and when is Ice blast most effective - as a blaster, corr, or dom.
So any of those classes (although leaning heavily towards blaster) that lets me do the following:
* Solo at a decent rate
* Contribute on a team
* Hopefully have some sort of synergy with the other powerset (I'm not a min/max'er but I do like using synergy between powersets to try and go the extra mile).
Not super hung up on cost either.

Definitely 2nd this sentiment. Been playing for 6 years and have a little of everything, have never been able to get the groove going on my WS. He's at 38 now but feel FAR from comfortable on him still.
And also agree, Dechs guide was great. -
I have a 50 Bots/Dark and a 30 Thugs/Traps (not the identical comparison you are looking for but close).
My Bots/Dark was one of the easiest characters to level to 50 for me. Love both sets a million zillion times over.
I'm have a lot of fun with my Thugs/Traps, but as I level him, I find myself giving the edge to the bots a bit more.
Now in fairness, I don't have the level 32 upgrade for my Thugs/Traps yet, so we'll see. /Dark is also incredibly useful on teams. -
If I could get some updated input on the new build, I would greatly appreciate it!

Took a stab at a full build hopefully using what you told me in the right way lol.
I'm not sure what my end usage would be on this. I have invisibility as a LOTG+RCH mule, but if i kept it toggled, even with suppression would it add a discernible difference? And if it did, would Cardiac be enough to help offset it's end cost?

Normally I try and do as much research as I can to figure out builds, enhancements, etc. but need to fall on the mercy of my fellow blasters on this one.
I have a level AR/Fire blaster that I love playing. Veteran reward wise, I have 60+months of playing time. He is level 50 and just finished the Incarnate arc last night. I play him as a ranged attacker only occasionally swooping in to drop a burn patch or administer medical attention (my team members are always pleasantly surprised when things go bad and I'm able to rez, stimulant, and heal our healer back up on their feet mid fight).
I have some Posi sets slotted and a few LOTG, but modest funds outside of that (access to maybe 100 million).
Besides wanting to play at range and keeping my medical pool powers, and hover/flight, I'm completely open to suggestions on powers, slotting, and what the heck I should go for with the new Incarnate system. I read a lot about ranged defense and that seems fine to me but not sure how to achieve it with these powers (was wondering if people go Maneuvers or Weave, or something else).
I've never gotten the knack of figuring what sets are best for bonuses etc, so would be very grateful if I could get some help filling in my build and recommendations on Incarnate powers going forward for my type of build. Much thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

I see lots of great threads on end game DM/SR builds but having a hard time figuring out what a good leveling build would be.
If anybody could post one, I would greatly appreciate it. I've never played either set before so not sure what is needed while leveling vs. a final build.
