Potted Plant?
I haven't double checked it, but I think the powers themselves can be activated from the air. However, I know that Roots will miss if the TARGET is more than a foot or so off the ground.
EDIT: I looked at City of Data, and none of the powers indicate that you have to be on the ground to cast them. In comparison, Earth's Stalagmites specifically says that you must be on the ground to cast it.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

none of the plant powers require you to be grounded. roots not only misses higher targets but you cant even cast it at things beyond its ground clearance.
fissure does, however, require you be grounded and seeing as how much you will be wanting to spam that power, i recommend cj anyways. plus, as a kin getting immob can mean certain doom and wasted buffs. but as a kin you work better in melee anyways. i used to farm on my plant/kin/stone before my brute hit 50

Stonefather - 50 Stone/WP/Soul brute
Sable Affliction - Earth/Dark/Fire Dom
Wild Cipher - Beast/Time MM
Cool, thanks guys. I didn't even think about fissure. I looks like CJ and SS it is since fissure is a must have also.
Howdy folks,
I'm putting together a build for my plant/kin/earth controller and I want to use hover for my combat maneuverability and defense augmentation.
My question is: Do any of the plant powers require you to be on the ground to cast?
If there are any I will probably switch from hover and fly to CJ and SS(taking hasten either way).
Thanks ahead of time for the info.
