MA/Nin sounds very Batman-esque. Def Softcap potential, a self heal, and some little gadgets and tools? That sounds 100% Batman to me. For a primary I'd say Martial Arts, Dark Melee or Claws for a primary.

Very nice, ok, I was suspecting Recharge.
Thank you very much! -
My WS's primary build is focused on the Nova and Dwarf forms, using human form just for Stygian Circle, Hasten and Mire. Most of my Form's inherent powers are 6 slotted (except antagonize, just 4 slotted). Im working on planning and IO build, but I really have no clue what to slot for primarily. I don't need a build just some advice on the slotting is all I ask for, especially on an AT whose role isn't as definable as a Blaster or Tanker. What should I slot for, primarily (in your opinions) and/or how should I slot the powers I have for maximum effectiveness on a semi-limited budget (~200-400 Mil Inf Max)

That actually sounds fantastic for a plant controller. She bunches them up for you, then you Seeds of Confusion, Roots and Carrion Creepers. As far as pets go, it always seems that they fit their powerset at least to a point (See: Singularity and Ninjas).

I love it! Grave feels like a ruthless version of Robin. Great work!
Also, to the player of Phantom Cross, you picture just inspired a new alt of mine, hope you dont mind. -
CMA knows his stuff, so take that post to heart.
Essentially, slotting for what your character required most is a good thing to aim for. Perhaps you should tell us your AT/Powersets and we can recommend some slotting ideas for you. -

Oh, sorry I didn't read that part, I was tired. :P
I'll repost properly shortly.

EDIT: Here it is!
Breif Bio: Former Arachnos Webmaster, Mazzo Grave. There's a bounty on his head from Arachnos, but that doesn't matter. Long story short: He's a Mercenary/Cowboy who breaks conventions like a Bus through a Teepee.
Here are some screenies!
NOTE: The sunglasses are now goggles, see the 2nd Screenie.
And here's one of the face (kinda). Note the Scar on his right side. It would be longer, but I can' get it any longer with CoH's character creator.
AT: Crab Spider (duh)
There, thats better. -
All of the relevant info about My character can be found Via his Virtueverse.

They're called idiots. Just take it and use it and everyone will love you for it. Not to mention the Defense values are good fr you too.

Quote:Im in mids making bulds I'll never use whenever im bored. I've probably got over 100 builds in there now. :/I think there's no harm in asking.
A lot of people enjoy putting builds together without ever considering actually playing the character, I know I do. Some of us are born number crunchers and find it fun, some aren't and find it difficult and no fun. There's nothing wrong with asking for help. -
Sonic/Sonic or Rad/Rad for them all. Sonic's resistance buffs and DeBuffs get overlooked quite alot, and that combo is fantastic for busting up AVs and helping enemy groups die easier. The same can be said for Radiation, not to mention AM and the other fantastic powers in the set.
FF/Elec: Dr. Khan/Statesman/ITF. In my opinion, defense buffers like these don't get enough love. A FF Defender with Maneuvers can get everyone in the party to 40% defense or more if slotted properly. An entire team with softcapped defense sounds good to me. The only drawback is it's lack of debuffs and active asistance, KB aside. Having elec blast as your secondary doesnt exactly help, as the effectiveness of Elec Blast isn't exactly great. If you had /Rad, /Sonic, or /Dark a your secondary, you could easily be that much more helpful with all the debuffs. Elec Blasts secondary End Drain and -Recovery doesnt really help too much in the long run unless paired with another powerset that has similar effects (Elec Manipulation, Thermal Radiation, Kinetics (that encompasses all ATs with Elec Blast)). While your End Drain will help when paired with other Elec characters (of any AT), alone it wont be too fantastic. It's definately a situational combo, but it definately has its advantages.
Cold/Ice: Same as FF/Elec. The Cold/Ice combo is a great buffer/debuffer, with lots of support and lockdown included in both sets, making you a support monster. Your DPS will be sub-par, certanly, but you'll be able to cover most of your team with 35%ish defense. My only concen, again, is the DPS, but it shouldnt be a problem if your team has some Extra DPS.
Emp/Psi: Any. While I'm not a huge fan of Empathy as a set, when paired with a good debuffing set, it can wreak havok. Emp/Psi is very similar in regards to Emp/Dark in that the enemies wont hit your allies as often. /Psi's -Recharge is a bit less effective at it then /Dark, certainly, but that -recharge means the enemies attack less often, and teh more you spam your AoEs the less they'll attack. You should be able to keep Fortitude on at least 3 people at once and be able to pick up the slack left behind by the other support characters on your team.
Overall, they each have their advantages and disadvantages. Honestly, I would just join a team, and choose your defender based on the makeup of the rest of the team, for maximum efficiency. Always remember, when in doubt, bring the Rad/Rad. -
Play Elec Blast and you get a pet (kinda).
Play Dark Miasma and you have another pet.
Play them both and you get 1.5 pets. -
The midnighter arc + 2 ITFs should be nough to get to 50, and should be fun. Look me up tonight, I'll be running one at around 11pm EST if I get out of work on time.
-
You get to level past 14. 36 extra levels and the chance to paly Epic Archetypes Sounds pretty big to me.

I'll admit that my excitement for GR has to be contained by playing other games. I've been playing Champions on and off, preparing for The Old Republic and playingDragon Age just to contain my excitement. If I play too much CoH I'll get let down when GR launches, or will be bored of the game by the time. Better save my hype for when it launches so I can go crazy about how amazing it is then. :P

I second all that CMA said essentially.
To see some of the endgame performance of one, here's a video I just happened upon a while ago.

why do you need a base accuracy bonus when you have Targetting Drone?
-
I figure I can keep Darkest Night up long enough in a fight to keep me alive (IE Put it on the most dangerous target, and once it's dead the rest of the group shouldnt be a problem). 40% Defense and Good Resists (im rolling Dark Melee/Invul) should would fine with the info you guys gave me, especially with Darkest Night to top it off and my Dark Melee attacks for a little extra Icing. Thanks guys!
-
While working on a build for a brute, I noticed that I didnt have the infamy to pull off a completely softcapped build, but could spare to pull the recovery up. A friend suggested I respec into Darkest Night and said it would essentially be like having the Def Softcap. While it sounds perfectly logical, I was skeptical, sp lets set up a scenerio to check that.
Lets say I have 40% Defense to all, and use Darkest Night to give a -10.5% ToHit to the enemy, what would that make my overall Defense equivalent to (not taking into consideration the dark melee -ToHit values, Gloom, or any other factors)?
NOTE: I realize -ToHit and Defense are different, just humor me/ball park it. I don't need it to be perfect, I just want to know much leway I have with the build in question. -
Gobble Gobble Gobble.

For blasters, I love Force Mastery, ESPECIALLY when paired with /Energy. Both of my High Level blasters use the best 'oh shi-!' button available: Personal Force Field, Power Boost, Aid Self. Nice big heal while not getting hit, sounds good to me. Not to mention a toggle resist buff and Force Of Nature, in case you wanna godmode and still fight back.
Munitions isnt bad if just for Surveillance and a Resistance buff that doesnt cost endurance to use.
Elec isn't bad, but I tend to prefer it when my primary doesnt have too many reliable AoEs (like energy blast or Psi Blast).
I'd only recommend Ice for Hibernation, snow storm isnt bad, but everything is dead from Rain Of Arrows before it matters.
I just plain don't like fire.
