  1. I'm only up to level 26 (highest macer ever), and I have to say, overall, the set is ridiculously good. The damage is good, but it's the mitigation that is is amazing.

    Clobber is one of the best melee powers I've ever used in this game. Auto Mag 3 stun with great damage. Just got shatter. 100% chance for knockdown with a Shadow Maul cone? Yes, please. I can reliably stun the biggest non-boss threat with Clobber and then take a step or 2 back and knockdown 2-3 mobs reliably. Jawbreaker is 75% chance for knockup. Which means much more often than not, I'm sending someone flying into the air.

    And crowd control, which I don't have yet, also does 100% knockdown.

    My secondary is electric, mostly to offset mace's big end drain and to get lightning reflexes to speed up the attack chain. It's fairly sturdy, but not nearly the best, but mace makes it a lot more survivable. You can tell the set was designed for tanks. Too bad it took them years to fix clobber.

    For those who have never tried mace, do yourself a favor and try it.
  2. So if I wanted to leverage AOE, which defense set with it's aura would ensure that mobs cluster around me the most?

    Edit: Aside from Ninjutsu, what secondaries have people tried with Elec, and how would you rate it? I've been eyeing up Electrical Armor and Regen. Would either of those work or not? And whats the problem with Elec/Elec solo, Adam?
    I think Elec is slow to mature and resist sets seem to work worse on a stalker because the resists aren't that high (40ish% on elec) and hit points are so low. The heal, while good, is a full minute slotted out, 2 minutes with no slots.

    As for elec melee, Lightning rod is one of the most fun attacks I've ever used in this game. But I think Thunderstrike is overrated (really small radius and only the primary target gets hit with really great damage) and chain induction just isn't that great.

    AoE is meant to really pile up the bodies, and my stalker CAN do that on a team, but solo, it's not realy satisfying because stalkers don't have the health and Elec doesn't offer enough defense for you use AoE on more than 5 or so mobs at a time.

    Maybe it will change when I get some IO sets in there. As of now, I am 35 and only have standard inventions in my attacks and defense, no sets.
  4. I have a lvl 35 elc/elec stalker and I think he is a blast in teams. I don't think he is that much fun solo, though.

  6. Which sets do you feel are the least played on stalkers?

    For me, I rarely see MA stalkers. And I also rarely see DA stalkers.

    Stalker v. Widow

    Taking into account all stalker power combinations, how do stalkers compare to widows in damage and survivability?

    I have a widow at 24 and because of the long recharge, the attack chain is sloooow. But the damage is heavier than stalker, but the DPS is probably worse.

    So how do they compare in general?

    My goal is to survive the highest percentage of possible in game scenarios that I can. So which powerset will allow me to thrive most often against the greatest variety and rank of opponent?
  11. Ok, which has the most synergy? Which covers up the weaknesses of MA the best?

    And I guess if I have one goal, it is to survive.
  12. Looking to make an MA scrapper and am looking for suggestions on what secondary goes best with it.

    I have no preferences at this point and am willing to consider any of them.

  13. For concept reasons, I'm thinking of rolling a stalker with one of these 2 sets.

    Secondary is either going to be Ninjitsu, Regen, or Willpower. Haven't decided yet.

    Is claws any good on a stalker? Is energy better?

    And also randomly, how good is spines on a stalker?

    And which of the 3 secondaries would go best with those primaries?

  14. From my somewhat limited experience with MA, I would say a good fix for MA would be lowering the animation time of Eagle's Claw, which others have said.

    And also adding a Parry like damage to Cobra Strike.

    And if that isn't going to happen, maybe go back to MA having an inherent 10% accuracy buff instead of 5%. Or maybe adding a 3% defense inherent or something to the set.
  15. So I'm lvling up a MA/SR and am having fun with it, even though in other threads, I have noticed MA is a little weaker. But is SR the best secondary for an MA? I plan ot soloing PvE the vast majority of the time. What secondaries are best to pair with MA?

    I would not recommend that, because it will most likely leave other parts of your toon lacking, but if all you care about is soft cap, I would try that.

    What is your primary.
    What is your budget.
    What is this intended for. PvE or PvP or mostly PvE with a mingling of PvP
    90% PvE.

    My budget is about 75 million or so.

    I am currently leveling up 2 stalkers: DM/SR and MA/SR.
  17. I'm not too experienced on invention sets, so I was wondering what is the easiest, most straight forward, and cheapest way to softcap SR to all positions.

  18. Which basically means martial arts needs some kind of PvE buff if there is literally no performance reason to take it over DM.
  19. So I was looking at the stalker sets and I noticed that Dark Melee does more damage than martial arts, has a heal, is not more endurance intensive, does not have longer recharge, has a dark energy component which is rarely resisted, and it's secondary effect is more reliable and useful.

    Is style and theme the ONLY reason to pick martial arts? Is there a good gameplay argument favoring martial arts over dark melee?
  20. I would hope that MA actually does have the bonus crit chances since the set seems to be lagging a little behind other stalker sets. It would be the unique perk of playing MA.
  21. Quickness is the one thing that makes super reflexes more appealing than ninjitsu, to me.
  22. I'm not looking for the best pure AOE damage, I'm looking for the best combo of safety and damage. So I will take good, but less than optimal, AOE damage for more safety.

    Which dom combinations would you recommend for this?

  23. For a single target set like MA or dark, is it better to up the difficulty level or up the number of enemies? I'm looking for most xp efficient mission difficulties.

    And what about an AOE set like elec?
  24. Is there anywhere where I can actually see how much damage these combos do?

    And are they affected by rage and enhancements?

    Sorry for the noob dual blades questions, but I'm considering my first DB toon on a brute and I think the combos could be a nice asset if the damage is good.

    I'd like to add the jumping to the run, plus a bit of defense. Do they work together?
