    As Captain of Omega Run n Shoot I am speaking for our team, as well adding to the comments listed above. There are NO alterior motives involved here and what JK said is true we do not wish to participate with you in the tournament. Funk and Jk may be a little combative with you, but they do so in standing up for our server.
    And that being said they (Jk and Funk) represent Pinnacle, in short they represent us. I for one am glad they do. The actual issue as you ask is simply this. You came over here telling us we weren't any good at PvP, and then turned right around and requested to join the Ladder in an attempt to show us just how bad we are at PvP. So at this point you have damaged any possible relationship that may have existed. Perhaps another time, but as for now I believe we (captains and players alike) all agree that your team not be allowed to participate in our PINNACLE event. Thanks for asking though. And good luck on test.
  2. Team Omega agrees with the Replacement player rules in the statement that If a replacement is needed that player is added to the team permanently and the original player is removed for the remainder of the season.

    As well Team Omega in NO way endorses any type of substitutions for any reason.

    Currently Recruiting: We are currently looking to add to our Core group of players.

    RP Level: WE are really not into the RP thing. WE play hard and have some interesting toons and some even more interesting characters behind the toons however.

    Theme/Concept: WE are a hero based group no real Theme, so to speak. But again we play hard and often.

    Activity: We have a solid core of members that have played together for a couple of years. We also have a few newer members that add some color and excitement to our old dull bones. We would like for you to be the next! Activity hours are varied as we have an ever changing schedule. Weekends still seem to be the best time for most of us to hang out. And "Clean up the Streets"

    I like this idea and thanks for commenting. Team PVP in the zones is much more fun than solo. I mean I hit the arena's but They (devs) need to give people a reason to venture into the zones on teams.

    Honestly I still beleive a tutorial on the differences in slotting PVP vs. PVE would increase the awareness and maybe some examples of what happens to a toon with properly slotted say PVP travel powers vs one that is not slotted properly etc. give them the footstool to reach the laddder with. Don't place them on top of the building yet. but sterr them in the right direction.

    Like the team buffs for support players idea though.

    If you arm new players with a new toon that they feel will be able to stand up a bit in the zone they will venture into the area. and maybe take some friends with them.

    I ama decent PVPer not great but could be better. still cruising the forums looking for more info and not finding anything but PVP smack talk. There so far is really nothing useful to offer around here from players or Devs.

    PvP Tutorial?

    Just an "outside the Box" thought. Since PVE and PVP are actually 2 seperate animals all together. How come we have a Tutorial for Players going into PVE and not one for First timers going into PVP? Not everyone that signs in and creates a Hero has PVP'd before and most are lost as to what IS actually important in PVP as opposed to PVE. For example we now have 2 builds so you can have 2 seperate and distinguished builds. In my SG most have one for PVE and the 2nd for PVP or visa-versa.

    So my thoughts are this you have 2 options (or more if anyone cares to expound on this) you can either cram it all into a multi session prior to someone entering A pvp zone for the first time to get their PVP graduate badge, and teach them things like Defense vs Resistance attacks/holds Kiting anything PVP that will 1 give them a leg up and make them feel semi-knowledgable and 2 possibly get their PVP juices flowing so-to-speak.

    So if its a single tutorial then you can have them run the gambit and instruct them and train them in a few techniques they may need in the Zones or Arena.
    and if you choose the gradual training. Teach them the basics of dual build advantage and enhancements etc. Defense vs. Resistance as they enter bloody bay and then give them follow up tutorials as they enter the other Zones increasing their knowledge base. Just a suggestion but I wish I had it when I started.

    Problem is is that there are too many really good, really knowledgable PVP'ers out there that are unwilling to share their knowledge even within their own SG's I know my Sg we share what we know with people that wish to learn and enjoy doing it. But reality is that is just not the case in general.

    Anyhow this is yet another idea on how to help stimulate PVP. Additions/criticisms/ideas all accepted.

  15. I have been reading all of these comments and I PvP as wel as play content with equal fervor. I am however Newer to the PvP Alumni so I wont claim to be an expert. However My SG is known for its teamwork. And with that last statement I would like to say that there are Two things Broken in PVP.
    1) is that Not every class should fair as well as the next. All should have Strengths and all should have weaknesses. I personally feel that the Devs in trying to level the playing field have lost the crucial elements of in short What makes a Blaster a Blaster! and What makes a Tank a Tank(<--Examples) Why should I be penalized for crying scrapper on the ground because my flying Fire Blaster One shots him because he chose the wrong defenses for his toon and wandered into the PVP Zone? And Why should My Scrapper be penalized by a crying Blaster that has high attack and low defense and he happend to fly to close to the business end of my Broad Sword? I guess my point is all Toons have strengths and weaknesses and all a level playing field does is cause boredom. Have thier been more PvPers since the fixes? and are we going in the right Direction.
    I sent a post in about going to level 60 it was the "Weakness" post. That would add a whole new dimension as all comic heroes have weakness. Superman has Kryptonite, Martian Manhunter has Fire etc. Why shouldnt heroes pick a Buff/Weaknees set? IF Im a fire blaster and I want to go by theme I can pick A Weakness to the Ice power pool etc but I will also have buffs for my Fire set (anyway that was another post) That would level the playing field in PvP some and definately make it intersting. That way you could power them up, and hope no one finds out what a Heroes weakness is.

    2) the second thing is Teams! most of the PvPers in Zone are on Teams. And from what Ive seen all Types of Heores AT's and Vill AT's are represented. If you Freed up the toons to do what they are capable of then it would probably take a team effort to defeat the other side. As a tank might be sufficient vs. a scrapper or two ont he ground but if the Blaster flys over and unloads on em. As blasters are supposed to be capable of then the other side will have to have someone watching. We just cant keep "Leveling the Playing Field" and think we will find a happy medium. Teams are awesome in Pvp and each player adds his intelligence to his fight. I have a toon or two that are hard to beat but I have been beaten by toons that should not be able to take me down but I made mistakes. If you dont play smart you will lose regardless. Allot of the whiners are folks that dont want to take their lumps to learn, they want to just walk in Zone from Day one and OWN it. Well thats not gonna happen. AND SHOULDNT HAPPEN!

    Max em out and let them fight. Add a Weakness/Buff set so people cannot be singularly dominant. As it stands now some toons can become close to unbeatable and it takes the fun out for even experienced PVP'ers. If you add a weakness/buff set and you are familiar with that toon then you bring in a "fire toon or whatever" and then you know its not beatable and this will also force Team play in PVP zones based on skill play and not total single toon survivability, And find a way to make it Team friendly in the Zones. One on One is great for arena. Adjust the Arena fighting if you need to adjust something. Now there ya go. Two different Brands of PVP. Zone PVP all Power and Glory. Arena PVP for one on one and combat competitions (get rid of the Weaknesses for Arena and make that a PURIST PvP area).

    Yeah. And I know we all try to be effective. All I was saying is that even the Vets get Rusty and complacent if running MA for too long without running real content.. Its different especially if you have your own creative team tailoring you missions in MA.
    And in retrospect, I suppose it's not exactly "Making" bad players. Its just giving loaded guns to 2 yr olds so to speak lol. What I mean is (and I am) we need to take time to teach some of these youngens how to play. Teaching is my new Bag baby and its not a bad gig really. We have a few that are really, really eager to learn... Trust me they dont want to play poorly alot of the time. Some have attitudes but then so do some of the old scchool also.
    But when they see you running an uber unstoppable toon they are like... WOW and then How? "Door Opened"

  20. Even the Vets coming out into the sunlight from running AE since its inception are Rusty! We were guilty as well, my SG has alot of Creative talent within its member Ranks and we have been running AE for a bit. Just got back to running regular missions again "quite different" You have to "create a team..can't just run any levels with one or two "Uber" toons and plow through everything in your path (our standard runs are always at Invince) lol. You have to play smart.. Only took us a mob or two to get into a rythem but yeah. Some of these n00bs have no clue I have seen people on toons that have absolutely no clue how to play them. And i asked them when did you start the game (no vet rewards) " Oh three weeks ago" And I say "cool well grats on hitting 50 so quickly" Lol

    I actually went out of my SG comfort Zone last week just to see what was out there lol. P.U.G. 'ing (Pick Up Group) and wow It was nuts. running High 30's low 40's I just shut up and went on for the ride lol. Wow they had to totally replace the team after every painfull gruelling mission except the leader and his bud of course. I hung around for about 5 missions .. its all I could take lol. Wipe after wipe after wipe lol. It seemd All I was doing was finishing mobs and waiting for people to return from hospital lol. And the kicker was when the leader was bragging about 6 slotting his main AT power with all damage lol Anyone care for diminishing returns.
    Not only do they not know how to play (MA babies) they know nothing of building toons either. Like breeds like I suppose.

    In answer to your question I am inclined to say yes.
    And in agreement with the second post. IT makes us look like... ... Well, Super Heroes lol

    Your right since none of the ones that you have suggested have never happend we should just quit evolving the game...Keep it the way it is so it dies off as an MMMO and find another game to play. I guess the people that suggested Dual Guns for Blasters or the Upcoming Demon Summoning power should never make it to the game either. As Demon summoning for one, implies Magic. I suppose you could work in science if you wanted to. But Hmm? I think we should all just take the I am in my freakin comfort zone and not change a thing attitude and see how long the game lasts then.
    Way to go there.

    I think Origin related powers are possibly a new evoltution to the game. Maybe not now but it hasnt really been explored on CoH.
    Why cant we explore different sets for Magic based Characters and Different sets for Tech based characters? And maybe instead of Wands being required they can be earned (for toons that want them) just like Capes and Auras on magic based toons. They have other unlockables. And as for the new powers suggestions. Again it was a suggested idea. for a new powerset. Of course it would have to be altered some in order to fit into the game just like anything else.

  24. The Devs never take anything away completely. Flagged PVP forget about it. Forced server transfer? That was a joke right? They would have to drop transfer tokens. (The devs have to fund increased salaries somehow right? So you have all of the easy access payable stuff up front. Character transfers, name change, pushing the new Packs, magic/cyborg/mac etc. That will never happen) drops like that (Transfer Tokens) won't happen and some people can barely fund their game as is.

    If you want purple run Ouroboros missions or AV's I have recived several Purples over the past couple days We (my SG and I) have run several AV arcs and I have had a few drops there and almost everytime I run a Ouro Arc I get purple drops. Your chances are better for getting Purples in a short Arc than they ever were by running a single TF. Get out and play some mishs. My words to anyone on AE... Everyone plays it for different reasons. Not everyone who plays this game is into the "Different Content thing" some are happy with running the same mishs over and over. Some like change of venue. Whatever your thing is DO THAT!

    To Nerf AE I feel is harsh. But again the Devs do what they want. I want whole heartedly to support the devs, and I used to have a HARD CORE back the Devs at all cost attitude. But this time I feel hurt. The lack of Forsight and the (excuse the Phrase, it's really big down south where I am from) "Indian Giving" is kind of a slap in the Face. I am sure Posi is upset. But now I am daily trying to talk people into not leaving the game and I am about talked out. (Sorry off tangent slighty) My vote is do not Nerf it more than it has been already.

    One last Item. The Merit System. I kinda like the Merit system and with AE it is kind of a crucial link in enhancing toons. Plus... ... It helps in getting some of the "Hard to Aquire" items that everyone wants or maybe doesnt want to pay 100,000,000 Inf or 150,000,000 infamy for a level 30 item. I feel though as well as do some others that the merits required are still a little high. (Unless you are one of the ones that like to "FARM" Dr. Q TF and I am one of the ones that really doesnt care for that so) It takes me forever to get enough merits to purchase anything.

    But everything you want is still there and more you just have to change your habits to get them. Get out of your comfort zone and play something different. ( I think that is what they are going for anyhow)

    And Don't feel bad about your post. You put up a post asking questions. Some answers will be ok while others will strike a nerve with people and you may get some passion back. It gives people a chance to vent . SO cool
