How are pistols being considered melee, I can't wrap my head around this, do you smack people with them!? :P Blaster and ruptors o.o

    [/ QUOTE ]

The only way I could see pistols being used as melee weapons would be if they're freaking huge pistols like Noel Vermillion has in BlazBlue. Those things look like 20-inch 2x4 planks with pistol grips, except they're steel instead of wood, and bullets fire out the end if you pull the trigger. Those things are clearly meant for blunt force trauma.

Of course, they still couldn't be a melee set, since they're still pistols, and it'd kind of suck to have to wait until level 8 to fire them.
  2. Quick Reply:

Adding on to my previous post, recall that there exists a magical barrier between Rikti Earth and Primal Earth, which held the Rikti at bay for some time after the first invasion. Now, the Rikti have managed to breach that barrier, but only to a very limited degree, which is why those Dropships are the biggest Rikti things in the skies right now.

Now, we don't know how the Rikti are getting through the barrier, but it wasn't designed for workarounds. If we wanted to invade Rikti Earth, we'd have to pull the barrier down completely, which would mean the Rikti could make multiple, massive portals like they used in the first invasion, so we'd be up to our ears in Rikti soldiers, and the sky would be blotted out by Rikti Motherships just like that massive pile of metal and technology in the Rikti War Zone, except these would still be flight- and combat-capable.

Until we find out how the Rikti are getting through the barrier without taking it down, attempting to invade Rikti Earth would be like dealing with a leak in a dam by blowing the dam up.
  3. WACKY SPOILERS OF SPOILERNESS AHEAD!!

The Rikti aren't actually from another planet. They're from another dimension's Earth. In fact, they're the humans of their own Earth, mutated by some wacky pan-dimensional travelers of zany-ness for unclear reasons and purposes.

Our version of Earth, which we like to call Primal Earth, is the only world the Rikti are invading. Lord Nemesis pulled a fast one on them by sending Automatons over to Rikti Earth to mess crap up and make the Rikti mad at us. Nemmy was planning to roll out his army and wax the Rikti, thus making himself look all heroic so people'd like him, but the Rikti were way too hardcore for the Nemesis Army, so Nemesis and his crew hid while the rest of us cleaned up his mess. That jerk.

Only a small number of the Rikti actually want to invade Primal Earth. Problem is, the peace-desiring Traditionalists who make up the vast majority of the Rikti population can't seem to stop the militant Restructurists. Thus, invading Rikti Earth and killing Rikti en masse would be a real jerk move on our part. That's why we're just holding off the Restructurists as best we can while the Traditionalists sort stuff out back home.
  4. Gradin' time!

IdioticGenius: Four Dixon Ticonderogas out of five.

Quincy_Archer: D+. Even though you didn't technically take the test, I gotta give you points for ruing the day properly.

Angryellow: C rasied to the power of negative Tuesday. And, down the hall to your left.

Kheldarn: Telegraph. Also, they moved lunch to eighth period.

BJShygo: Ninja of Love and Justice!

*Mysteriously uses a not-Federally-approved grading system*
  5. They look fine to me. Though I didn't look very hard, admittedly.
  6. Hrm. Where are the rest of the students? Am I going to have to send our truant officer out there? As soon as he starts, you know, not being imaginary, that is.

    Right then, suprise stupid-easy quiz!

    1) What color is the sky?

    2) Why should you not try to eat fire?

    3) Boxes. What's up with them?

    4) Identity your favorite pencil.

    5) Did the US federal government ever, for any reason, ban hugs?

Easy times, guys. Just to spite those slacker not-showing-up types. Don't think too much about questions 3 and 4, just hit me with an answer.

*Mysteriously shows favoritism to punctual students*

Man, being mysterious isn't the same without Quincy_Archer here to rue the day. Oh well, gotta keep doin' it.
  7. *Unlocks classroom door*

*Starts Servbots clearing away debris and setting up new desks*

    *Adjusts glasses*

Right, as Mandatory Mysterious Transfer Student and apparent Teacher by Default, I have to question how I'm still a "transfer student" when it's been a trimester since I transferred in. I also question the validity of promoting students to teacher-hood by virtue of no teachers turning up. The heck kind of school is this?

Class will begin once the students turn up.

*Mysteriously wonders who he's talking to*

Next time I play Final Fantasy 7, I'll read Sephiroth's lines with a gangsta accent. At the risk of digging up a dead meme: "Yo dawg, I herd you like swords, so I put a sword in your flower girl so you can cry while you fight." I'm not sure if this makes the game more or less awesome.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I vote more awesome. Just because the mental image of Sephiroth speaking "gangsta" cracks me up.
  9. Quick Reply:

Rogue. Not Rouge, Rogue. Son of the Morning, guys, we're not talking about an expansion that turns everything a rather dark shade of pink here.
  10. Favorites: The Clockwork are just fun. I enjoy fighting the Fir Bolg, too.

Least Favorites: Those mother-loving Malta jerkweasels. Zeus Titans are horrid for my Blaster. His Boss-killing method is to stack Tesla Cage and Shocking Bolt, then move in and drain all of the Boss's Endurance, after which I can flip out like a psycho. But when I hit a Zeus Titan with Power Sink, its blue bar does not even move. At all. And then there's the Sappers. Hey, let's make an enemy that sucks a player character's Endurance in seconds and has a stupid-long-lasting mez power! And let's make it a Minion! Who had that brain-wave? Carnival Ring Mistresses are also nasty, they're the only things below Elite Boss that my Brute needs Strength of Will for, and that's mostly for the +Recovery. I just don't fight Carnies or Malta any more.

It's almost like people think comic book plots have no room in comic book games.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Comic book stories in a game based on comic books? what madness is this?!

Really, though, it was kind of weird how everything the Fifth did was suddenly done by the Council. I've been keeping away from the spoilers so that I'll be suprised when I run the Task Forces, but who am I kidding? I never run Task Forces.

Srsly. Best bug ever. Of all time.

That's... that's just fun to watch. I've gotta try this!

    A Pondering

    [ QUOTE ]
Must.... resist.... making.... list... doctor.... said... bad... for... heart....

    Ah heck with it...

If everything is a Nemesis plot...

... then the furthest time travel in history was to the Garden of Eden.. though how he fit in the snake costume is beyond me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It was a Snake Automaton.
  14. Hey, I'm back, just like I said I'd be back. Here's the rest of my characters on Freedom!

Samael Diener: He was created by Nazis, so his status as a hero constitutes a Heel Face Turn, he's Lawful Neutral, since all he understands is absolute loyalty to Bitt Player, his body is composed of Magitek, his aforementioned loyalty to Bitt Player borders on Happiness in Slavery, which frequently prompts Bitt to Contemplate his Navel regarding free will.

Takomo Yocmer: A Humanoid Alien Genki Cat Girl who demonstrates that Dark is Not Evil, and fights with Arm Blades. She was exiled from her home planet just for having powers, but she doesn't talk about that much.

Raoul Kasima: He came looking for Takomo after her exile, because he missed her so much. He shows signs of Double Conciousness, in that his personality is almost completely different when he's wearing his Powered Armor. Being from the same planet as Takomo makes him a Petting Zoo Person. While normally a nice guy, he can suddenly switch to being a Knight in Sour (powered) Armor, when his enemies irritate him or someone asks him about his home planet.

Android Rho: He comes from Another Dimension, but faulty technology resulted in Laser-Guided Amnesia, which, since he was evil before, but recruited by the good guys, means he's pulled a Heel Face Turn. Like General Phi, Rho is not Three Laws Compliant.

Rehnac Naturai: From the same planet as Takomo and Raoul, she's a Social Darwinist Dark Action Girl, with serious Psycho Electro tendencies, and a hint of For the Evil. Also the only villain in this post.

That's my characters on Freedom, next is Truimph!

    New starter

Architect Edition is all you need, it's called that because it has every patch and update up to Issue 14: Architect right on the disc.

    Welcome to the game!
  16. Hey, this looks like good times!

Bitt Player: Religious Bruiser, Incorruptable Pure Pureness, Shock and Awe.

Elaina Rhysenn: Wrench Wench, Powered Armor, Action Girl.

Bitt and Elaina between them form a Battle Couple.

General Phi: Evil Feels Good, Ridiculously Human Robot, (not in appearance, but personality) Mecha Mooks, Which he manufactures to serve him.

Mecha Maven: Magitek, Affably Evil, and General Phi's Perky Female Minion.

I'll be back to list some more of my characters later.
  17. The devs view farming as a problem. To them, it harms the game and the community, period.

This is therefore solving the wrong problem.

    Blue Steel!

    [ QUOTE ]
    that would be amazing!

other cantidates would be a paper bag with 2 eye holes or a /protest sign up saying "not here"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or just have the basic "afk" indicator over her head.
  19. Bitt_Player

    Blue Steel!

Blue Steel only makes mistakes to trick his enemies into thinking he's human.

Blue Steel cons purple to U'Kon Gr'ai.

Blasters have nukes, the devs have /set_target_heath 0, Blue Steel has dirty looks.

All Hero Archetypes are actually Aspects of Blue Steel.

The Tyrant only rules Praetoria because Blue Steel hasn't gotten around to visiting yet.

Blue Steel's Shield Bash normally kills everything within a 100-foot radius, but sometimes, Blue Steel hits his enemy too hard, and they immediately come back to life, horribly disfigured. This is what happened to the Clockwork King and The Wretch.
  20. Bitt_Player

    Good Villain PvE

Mastermind, Robotics... oh wait. Not that, then.

    Brute, Energy Melee/Willpower. Darn fun.

Yes, because all Japanese people are known for is their ability to wield a sword and a gun at the same time.

    Wait, what?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You haven't seen the City of Hero trailer, clearly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought that guy was South Korean. South Koreans are known for their awesome gun/sword skills. North Koreans, sadly, are mostly known for having a sucky government.

I'm thinking about some Dual Pistol characters, but I really need to know more about the set. I may re-make one of my current Blasters. Since she's deep into magic-related stuff, I can pretty much pick whatever Secondary I want for her.

Magic is the best Origin for concept, it explains everything: "Why can your character set himself on fire and punt Zeus Titans through walls?" "Magic".
  22. Your Arcitect Archvillain is too tough when...

... Blue Steel needs a team to defeat it.

... When you select the mission, your character starts crying.

... When other Archvillains are kicking puppies, yours is kicking Warwolves. With similar PR results.

... It can only be fought if your difficulty is set to the new, sixth tier ("Friggin' Ridiculous") which was made just for your Archvillain.

... The game starts giving Hamidon Origin Enhancements to anyone who can defeat your Archvillain.
  23. Dang it, Vanden, I had a really great pant-related suggestion I was working on, but if I post it now, everyone will think I'm stealing your idea!

I guess his box really must be hidden at the office if it took BABs 3 weeks to realize he wasn't there.

BaB's thought process, every morning: "Huh, what's wrong with pohsyb? He doesn't yell when I kick his box any more"

    Anyway, congratulations, pohsyb!

    Triumph:

    [ QUOTE ]
But, for there to be a social collapse, we have to be civilized first.

And Triumph, is far from civilized.

    Srsly. We wear no pants!

    And everyone hits on me!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wear pants. Purely to spite you all, but yeah. So the social order is the not-wearing of pants, and going against social order just to be a jerk, as with my pant-havery, is clearly the beginning of the slow decent towards anarchy.

It's all my fault, but I have no regrets.
