You're quite welcome BaBs. Know what'll be even more rewarding? Watching a Hami raid or mothership raid light up like an acid trip.

I had a similar thought last night. At its basest form, this is nothing more than a paintbrush. It's that "simple."

But that "simple" addition to the game is going to change how it looks so much to what we've been used to for the last 5 years that I've no doubt many of us will be running around watching other people in awe at the art they get to create using that paintbrush on their characters.

We'll be playing the same game, but it's going to look SO much different.

I always get a giggle when Scrapper argue about whether this or that set is best. A whole AT where every single powerset combo is near overpowered or better and people feel the need to argue about the details.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But that's what makes us the best.

As for the hatred of regen's clicky nature, click powers cause weapon redraw. Weapon redraw was always annoying, but now it actually decreases DPS. This is why my regener has FM as the primary.

Have we heard if we can change the powers customization based on the costume slot, or is it going to be one set of power color customization for one character?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Powers can be individually customized per costume slot, but not supergroup mode.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Great job, man. Don't know what else to say on the topic.
  5. And considering that folks threw up fiery aura builds that were softcapped to S/L the other day, it HAS to be a resounding yes.

Made me realize that I had to completely rethink my new DM/WP brute build.
  6. I think I'm confused. I see the red dot next to Manual Fan Control when ATI Overdrive is not selected. Then the dot disappears when you enable ATI Overdrive.

Is the red dot present when you enable ATI Overdrive and Manual Fan Control but have Catalyst AI disabled?

Also Desdemona is so hot with a nice nice booty. she's built the way a woman should be...soft in all the right places

    [/ QUOTE ]

It always creeps me out when people talk like this about cartoon characters.

    [/ QUOTE ]
it's not like i said i want to have babies with her (which WAS said in this thread) Is it Really that bad to appriciate beauty where ever you find it? Would it be as bad in your eyes to look at a drawing or painting by picasso, rembrandt, or some guy painting on the street corner and make the same comment or is it that your unable to look past the fact that the topic of discussion is related to a video game? it's not like i or anyone else in this thread said that betty boop or lola bunny was hot

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's a difference about saying "Thats a beautiful painting" or "That's a painting of a beautiful woman" and "That cartoon character has a sweet booteh, she's so hot! Look at those curves... mmmmmmhmmmm... she's my kind of woman! Sooooo soft" There's a definite line between those two ends of the spectrum, and I just find it creepy when someone feels the need to cross it. On one end it's an appreciation for a beautiful piece of artwork and on the other it's an expression of lust for a cartoon character. There's a definite difference there. She's every bit a cartoon character as betty boop, and yeah, that'd be creepy too.

Mona Lisa has a real purty mouth. And the knockers on Venus are soo perky.

PLing characters to 50 in hours would seem to make players burn out much more quickly than if they had to play the game "as intended". That's why the Devs came down so harshly on AE farmers recently.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
As long as you keep playing, they don't care how you play.

    [/ QUOTE ]

These two statements do not compute.

Add in the fact that the greatest farming tool ever is about to be given to us with I-16, the first statement lacks merit even more.

The devs frown upon *exploits.* THAT'S why people were punished. They are apparently quite ambivalent toward farming in general.

EDIT: Side thought: If there were any truth to the "those that farm to 50 get burnt out and leave" belief, wouldn't all the farmers be gone by now?

So questions the guy with only 3 50s after 4.5 years of play.

Indeed, I could never accomplish anything decent on my own regen scrapper, so I shelved him.

Catalyst A.I.: Disabled (I've seen no benefit in leaving this enabled)

    [/ QUOTE ]

The one important advantage for me to have this enabled is the ability to manually control the fan speed of the card. You need to have both boxes checked off in this section in order to override the auto settings of the fan. I do NOT perform any overclocking and leave the timing settings alone. Having a cooler vid card with the fan at 80%-100% is better than leaving it up to the driver determining what IT wants the fan rpm to run at.

    Just my 2cents

    XFX Radeon 4850HD

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's nice to hear that fan control is now part of the CCC. If Catalyst AI must be enabled for that to function, then it should absolutely be enabled.

Do you notice any performance issues/bugs (besides it being hotter when your fans aren't cranked) with it enabled versus disabled?

QUESTION: Does your own general playstyle seem to reflect how you react in other social situations (not necessarily choir, but other similar kinds of groups)?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely. I'm a systems administrator for a small company. Hardly anyone understands my role, but understands the necessity of the role. Prior to a recent company merger, I was on my own dealing with my site. I'm still the only tech support for my site, although we are now part of a larger domain.

I come in, I do my thing, I fix issues on my own without outside support. In game, I play archetypes that don't rely on others to get the job done. Scrappers, brutes and corruptors are my go to ATs.

Side note: I've got singing history as well, so to Austara, I get completely where you're coming from. (Church choir led to opera gigs at the local college when I was in elementary school. Smoking and atheism brought me to rock and roll. )
  13. I'm still waiting for that day when I get to have CJ/Fly instead of wasting a slot on hover/airsup. (Not that airsup isn't an awesome attack...)

heh, I am the same, if it's just so absurdly stupid, I can't help but facepalm and look away.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Looks like there's a lot more of us with this issue than we thought.
  15. Claws doesn't bore me like DB does. There's something about being "pushed" into combo use that annoys me. And by pushed, I mean, "why not get the extra effects? You fool! You missed that attack and broke your combo!"
  16. [ QUOTE ]
But I think it's meaningless to hand to Castle as evidence of an actual problem.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We're certainly in agreement here. I don't see a problem with brute/scrapper performance on the whole. I play them both regularly and they feel completely comparable. Even these two separate data points of ST DPS shows them to be comparable.

There's lots of other data points that need to be taken into account, not the smallest of which is the fact that I do predominantly solo and my perceptions are obviously tilted a bit due to that, if you wish to get into the much large scope of whether the two ATs are balanced. But that was Never the goal of these two threads, as I thought I had stated multiple times.

Using these two spreadsheets as some kind of rule for total AT and powerset comparison in a void would be nothing more than dumb. There only purpose was to show myself what's gonna rock against pylons and AVs.

You're comparing optimal DPS charts. Since players are not natively flowing into these states

    [/ QUOTE ]

I call BS on this, but whatever.

[/ QUOTE ]I know this is going to be hard for you to believe, but you are not the natural evolution of playing well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While this isn't news to me at all, please share with us, oh brilliant one, what would be an example of that? I'm dying to here more of your pearls of CHV wisdom.
  18. Delete and reroll. It's better than having a slot filled with something you dislike. Trust Me!
  19. For ST damage it appears to get beaten by 3 existing powersets. And a 4th soon to exist powerset. But that's with basic IOs.
  20. And masochism. Don't forget masochism.
  21. Brutes 5
    Scrappers 3
    Corruptors 2
    Blasters 2
    Dominators 2
    Warshade 1

    I think that's correct.

The click protections also use less EPS, don't they?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    WP IW: .208 EPS
    SR PB: .087 EPS

    yup.

[/ QUOTE ] But could that possibly change on a high recharge build with PB on auto fire(assuming PB is one slotted with end reduction)?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you're talking about heavy IO builds, I'd stick with a single lvl 50 basic IO in IW. That drops its end cost to .146 EPS

My SR is sitting on a 64.5sec recharge on PB. That's .161 EPS.

The toggle wins. However, I *could* slot a single end-red in PB and it would still be perma. (Come to think on that, I probably should and have no idea why I haven't.)

Doing so bumps the recharge up to 74.8 seconds and costs 7.3 end for .098 EPS, leaving it below the toggle cost with identical slotting.
  23. I still enjoy having the gaussian CFBU in followup and the decimation CFBU in focus.

With my current single target attack chain, I'm getting a 5% chance every 1.5 seconds or so.

So on average, every minute I get two five second buildups on top of double stacked followup. Yay claws.
  24. If I'm understanding you correctly, that would be best as it would put you at 2.69 EPS.

Using 3 lvl 50 basic IOs and the perf shifter +end proc gets you to 2.89 EPS.

Using lvl 50 Perf Shifters: end / end-rec / end-acc / proc gets you to 2.71 EPS because that 4th one gives you a 2.5% recovery set bonus (EDIT: For the loss compared to the last slotting, you also get 28.1 HP and 5% movement buff)
  25. [ QUOTE ]
However, it does add tremendously to the uniqueness of each *character*. That's even more important to some of us.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Seconded.

What really separates the ATs? The inherent, different (riiight) APPs, and a whole slew of AT variables.

For me, that's a good thing. It made comparing the scrapper/brute primaries easy when I decided to proliferate the sets that haven't been done so yet.
