Travel Powerless SR Scrapper

Is it easily doable? I figure I can take at least one power out of my build right there if I slot Quickness with 3 Run IOs. I have Superspeed at the moment, and was thinking that after level 40 I wouldn't need it, because I could get the raptor pack from FBZ.

So, in short, is Quickness + Hurdle a viable travel power?

Hurdle itself is a viable travel power as long as you have some backup (for getting to higher places than 18 feet). Don't 3-slot Quickness with run IOs though. That would only get you up to 35 mph run speed, and that's with sprint with an IO in it too. 3-slotted Hurdle, however, will put you at almost the exact same speed as unslotted Super Jump, which is 51 mph.

Then 3-slotted hurdle I shall do, with 1 run IO in quickness since I have to slot it with something.

Thank you very much for the help.

My namesake never has had a travel power. He went from 1-50 with just 1 slotted swift, 1 slotted quickness, and 1 slotted sprint. To be honest he didn't group much... grouping when you have to change zones a lot did occasionally put me in a position where I as the last one the the door... but not always. It's very doable. It helps to have a SG base with all ports, plus OB, Pocket-D, and the vanguard base help in getting from zone to zone with only 1 or 2 jumps. Also, now that the easiest place to find a team is in Atlas Park anyway, it's very possible to run without a travel power.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

Don't forget that Gift of the Ancients has a 7.5% run speed IO. You can easily fit five of those in your build.

Your scrapper can run pretty fast if you take quickness and swift. I'm not a big fan of 3 slotting those powers though, if you have spare put atmost 2 in each. Heh i still use my Zero G Pack from the KR bank heist, it stays a while if you only use it for a second to jump a wall.

Also, if you dont plan on using your 2nd build for anything, i'd suggest to put some travels on that one. My SR scrapper has no travel as one build, and 3 travels + invisibility in the other lol. Just switch to your travel build before logging off. That way when you get back on you can travel easier to whichever map you want before switching back.

I always go without a travel power on my scraps no matter the secondary.
It's even "better" with a /SR because of Quickness.

Also keep in mind that Combat Jumping compliments Hurdle quite nicely. It adds air-control which means getting up to top speed faster and making it so turning doesn't slow you down. It can also be useful for letting you "slide up" a lot of inclines. Plus it gives a little bit of defense which is always nice for an /SR.

Swift + Quickness + Sprint all with + ren speed anhances it quite fast and very suitable for most travel. Make sure to do your levcel 7 and level 12 bank jobs to get the Atlas and Kings row temp powers. If you are stingy with their use they will last you till you can get into the shadow shard to buy replacement raptor pack for when they are exhausted.

It's totally doable.

And worth mentioning that Swift + Quickness + Sprint is actually QUICKER than the temp power jetpack.

I've taken this option on my scrapper, Crab-spider and Widow, and have found that because I've used extras slots in those powers i'm actually quicker at crossing a zone than most fliers are, and even some jumpers, so yeah, it's totally doable

I almost never take travel powers nowadays. I recently started playing an old toon again that SS and keep thinking "Why is this on here?"

I'm still waiting for that day when I get to have CJ/Fly instead of wasting a slot on hover/airsup. (Not that airsup isn't an awesome attack...)

Be well, people of CoH.

Valkii, my Dark/SR, gets by wonderfully with the Combat Jump/ Hurdle combo. She is so fleet, I don't think I will get a Travel power on her...if she falls into hole or something I always have my jetpack to get her out
