Perf Shift proc vs End Mod IO?

In all my toons that take Stamina, I've always 3 slotted with End Mod. I was playing with some builds, and have started changing from 3 to 2 IOs once I get to the 40-50 levels (or 2 + a multiaspect IO) to avoid losing an entire slot to ED.

Stamina was always one of those powers I assumed still needed 3 b/c I wanted to maximize it's effectiveness (and it didn't benefit from any other enhs). However, I've recently come across the Performance Shifter Proc, which says "has a 20% chance to give a SMALL amount of endurance" (caps mine). If I have 2 Level 40 End Mod IOs and the proc is that better on average than 3 of them? Do the numbers change with level 50 IOs?

20% chance every 10 seconds for 10 end works out to .2 EPS on average, I believe.

Base recovery appears to be 1.67 EPS

Stamina appears to bump that to 2.09 and states that it increases recovery by 25%. 1.67/4 = .4175 + 1.67 = 2.0875 or 2.09 so that seems to work out.

A level 40 IO appears to buff 38.6
A second brings that to 76.48 with a tiny amount sliced off due to ED
A third brings that to 97.37

So...

Stamina with 1 slot is a 34.65% rec buff 2.25 EPS
Stam w/ 2 is 44.12 rec buff 2.41 EPS
Stam w/ 2 enhs and PerfShift is 2.61 EPS
Stam w/ 3 enhs is 49.34 buff 2.49 EPS

If my math is correct, 2 lvl 40 basic IOs or better plus the perf shifter is better than 3 straight lvl 40 basic IOs.

I've been told 4 slotting Stamina with the fourth being the + Endurance proc gets you the endurance recovery of three IOs plus the input from the proc, because the + end proc doesn't count towards the ED limit for that power.

If I'm understanding you correctly, that would be best as it would put you at 2.69 EPS.

Using 3 lvl 50 basic IOs and the perf shifter +end proc gets you to 2.89 EPS.

Using lvl 50 Perf Shifters: end / end-rec / end-acc / proc gets you to 2.71 EPS because that 4th one gives you a 2.5% recovery set bonus (EDIT: For the loss compared to the last slotting, you also get 28.1 HP and 5% movement buff)

[/ QUOTE ] This is correct.

OP: To expand on what BillZ said, in this thread Umbral shows that the Performance shifter: chance for +end proc is better than anything else you can slot into stamina or quick recovery. So if you only devote one slot, pick the perf shifter proc.

Thanks Bill and Munki! Looks like the proc is the way to go and that thread details it nicely. I wonder if a 4th slot in Stamina is worth it for either more recovery or set bonuses. Maybe a PM to Umbral is in order.

I know they go into some later in the thread, but to me it just really depends on your build and what you need/want as far as set bonuses go. So without seeing your planned final build, it's hard to answer that question.
