Cardiac is definately better for Endurance issues.
I took agility on my forcefield / Electric blast Defender. I seriously doubt I could have selected a better alpha. -
The old meeting place to get together and do trials was the RWZ, I guess that Dark Astoria is now the place to go for Virtue level 50's to do trials and such?

Bruising causes a 20% damage resistance debuff in your foe for 10 seconds. Which means the second time you hit them, you'll cause more pain!
Bruising rocks. And in the case of SS, lead with the jab was never so true! -
I think if you are building a Tanker to tank... then Taunt is invaluable. Having said that, a Tanker is not just for tanking IMHO.
I made a tanker basically to just fight. She has got taunt, but, at the time war mace was not available to scrappers, otherwise she'd have been a Scrapper. Could have done her as a brute I guess... but I didn't have going Rogue, and I wanted her to be a hero.
If I am the only tanker on the team, I will make an effort to tank the mobs. If I am not, I play back up to the tanker that is taunting and drawing agro. -
Hello guys, Ive been using mids of late to redesign a couple of my characters. Of course you can include the incarnate parts in the totals.
In one of my builds on mids, I found I had my lil Defender with 300% regen. Then when I gave her the higher level Diamagnetic Interface tier 4, she lost 10% of her own regen taking her down to 290%
This a bug in mids, or, does Diamagnetic actually cost your character 10% of its regen? -
If you wanted to Tank probably not a good thing I'd think, Regen has no inherent defence and only limited damage resistance. But if its was heavy duty scrapper who can heal from things stupidly fast, its probably amazing.

Hey guys, this may have been asked before, Im not sure as I may have missed it in the search feature. But I just wondered what year First Ward was built and what year it was destroyed?
Also do we know how long Nova Praetoria, Imperial City and Neutropolis have been around? -
Quote:FF/Elec blast is a very fun combo in my experience, I made an FF/elec defender and she is now level 50 and even if I say so myself, she can turn a blaster into a credible tank.I have an FF/Elec I'd like to dust off and was after any tips/build guides and some general advice as to what I can expect to solo.
How does FF/Elec compare to other primaries and secondaries after all this time?
I mainly choose those sets more as design concept than anything else. Is it a good combo?
I will be dropping down to premium after this month so anything VIP I won't have access to. Also I don't have a great deal of inf therefore an SO build to start would be a great help.
If anyone could offer any advice/guides it would be much appreciated, I did look but all the guides do seem to be really old.
Thanks!
Kaes
Forcefields offer probably over all the best defensive buffs in the game. 23% defence to smashing and lethal, with 40% toxic resistance. And 23% defence to energy, negative, fire and cold. Forcefields rule. 3 blasters and a forcefield defender = unstoppable meat grinder. And if you take the medicine pool as well if you have room for it, then you are laughing so hard.
FF/Electric is definately better suited to teaming, Electric will suck the hell out of the enemy endurance and will inflict damage, but really th beauty of this is, between your shields, and the lack of endurance for the bad guys, it means they can't fire off the big nukes, they can't hurt you or your team much.
electric blast is not going to cause the big damage, if you want out and out damage, then you need anything but electric. However, from my experiences, a forcefield / electric Defender is ANY team's new best friend.
Terms of build I can't post as Im in work. But...
I took all the Electric blasts apart from Aim.
I took all the forcefield powers too apart from forcebolt and repulsion field.
Didn't see the point of either. -
I think by 20-30 the character is about ready and from there on out, its just a fine tuning exercise to get them truly sorted.
-
My single forcefields are worth 23% each, plus my dispersion bubble, and manouvres means I can hit about 40% to all the major incoming damage types. Which means she can already practically softcap people.
I don't struggle with end at all. And, she has a bundle of recharge.
Which means I leaned toward musculature. As long as my teammates stick close to me, they are literally almost untouchable in normal content. It may help the incarnate content though. -
Hi guys, got my forcefield / Electric Blast Defender to level 50 and alpha unlocked. Question is, what do I want as an alpha?
I was thinking musculature. Any suggestions, she's my first level 50 Defender. -
Ive noticed that till you get SO's its accuracy isn't the best and it will miss a few times in a row.
Other than that, I love it. -
I got an Invul / StJ tanker, and its nice, very smash mouth in your face fighting for a Tanker who wants to bludgeon without the clumsyness of super strength.
-
Got an Invul / StJ Tanker to try at the moment.
-
Earlier today I remade my level 47 invul / Elec melee tanker, into invul / StJ
Originally I was going to make her invul / SS but already had one in male form. Martial arts came over to tankers, and again thought about it, but no... Street Justice fits this characters concept perfectly.
I took electric melee as compromise. -
War Mace does some whopping smashing damage. My personal preference is to pair it with Electric Armour, steal the bad guys endurance!
-
Bruising is automatically inherent to the tankers tier 1 attack, if you fire it off and it connect, its debuffs the enemy resistance by 20% to all incoming damage for 10 seconds. Quite useful against those extra sturdy opponents.

Hey guys, do you know what the default settings in options under graphics and audio are for the GUI for:
Hero
Praetorian
Villain
My settings seem to have muddled up a bit.
Thanks. -
That's a hard combo.
Super Reflexes would satisfy this tanking on pure defence.
Dark Armour would be an option too it has RES and DEF to all three.
Shield Defence and Invulnerability are considerations as well.
Overall I'd say a Dark Armour tanker would probably do the job best as it has all three. -
Id say once you pick up invincibility, and then tough hide, and weave from fighting. You've got masses of defence there to play with alongside HUGE resistance to smashing and lethal damage and reasonable resistance to exotic damages. Then you really do feel invulnerable. And if anything does hit you, you just go... "tickles!"
Invul doesn't really shine IMHO till the mid 20's and after that you get chance to bung in some invention sets of your choice, but even on just SO's you can still stand in battle for an insane amount of time. Then you see just what it can do.
A level 50 invulnerable tanker from my experiences, is almost completely unstoppable (Without the actual Unstoppable power) in normal game content. The Incarnate trials, you can't be so "go on, hit me!" with them, but, even then, with the right incarnate buffs and a good team with you, you can tank the hell out of em regardless... -
Were it not for this thread... I'd have still been locked out of the forums! I was quite stumped as to what the issue was.

Quote:Thanks for the answer friend! Im a bit stunned that its going to be extra price even for a subscriberStreet Justice and Titan Weapons will be later added to the cash shop, for extra price even for subscribers.
Time Manipulation is free for subscribers, but they lose access to the toons they make that use it if their sub lapses.
Beam Rifle is in the cash shop, available for extra beyond the subscription.. But, well... Hopefully we won't have to wait long either way, I have a Tanker to remake in the street justice powers.

oops, got an answer. Sorry Guys

Willpower has a few nice tricks that Invulnerability doesn't have.
For a start it has an additional healing and stamina power to go with inherent fitness' healing and stamina powers as inherents, and rise to the challenge, which is awesome. A very user friendly tier 9 that outshines unstoppable IMHO. And also, a self rez power should you fall in combat.
Invulnerability by contrast, offers you resistances to things, albeit small, to things that Willpower does not, and counteracts with accelerated healing.
But its swings and roundabouts, an Invul tank IO'd up for defence etc, is probably going to take LESS damage off a hit than a Willpower one. But it balances out in as much as the Willpower one heals quicker etc...
There are different way of survivability and this is what it comes down to, a FA/SS tanker is going to kill things far quicker than an Invul / SS might for example. But the Invul will take less damage doing it, just takes longer, war of attrition, than an out and out blitzkrieg of the enemies.
I'd say the differences between the two are negligable but Invul takes the lead somehwat because you can face off masses of mobs and you have the resistances and defences to get you through it.
