  1. I am lookinb for maps with large numbers of spawn points, preferably with a good density,

I found the troll tunnels so far, and they are great. But I have looked through many office, warehouse, and outdoor maps and most of them don't have that many spawns or the spawns are spread out too much.

    Any suggestions?
  2. How about "Trainer" for those missions that have no story and are just for either

    1) working on battle techniques. Like how to take out specific type enemy
    or
    2) Geared to fast XP gain. Likely also gear to focusing on a combat technique.

This would be helpful, and remind the player not even bother looking for a story, there is not one. Might be some helpful hints on how to play better, Like "Prepare for Smash Attacks" or "Flying Is Suggested".

It doesn't have sizes but it is pretty much up to date with power, control and cost.
    Excellent Source! Thanks

Google kept taking me to pre Issue 13 pages
  4. Since Pocket D is interdimentional, The Chalet could be open for southern Hemisphere's Winter as well. Paragon City would be locked in summer though, so candy canes are out.

Converting the slide mechanics to a water park might be interesting, but flowing water is still a weak point in CoH graphics. But a chance to get some nice surfer shorts and other beach appearance would be nice costume prices. Add some Dance moves and summer based emotes would be fun as well.

I enjoyed the Winter events. And looking forward to next event.
  5. Is there a guide that has the Power and Control Needs of Items?
Any list of item sizes and prestiege costs?
  6. As a returning player, that started with new account. I really don't mind veterans getting new character slots, respecs, badges, costume change tokens and costume pieces. and even access to pre-order items. I do not like however things that make the character more powerful, like the inspiration bonuses and additional or earlier skills. These give the existing players and advantage over and above their experience.

IMHO, the veteran rewards should actually be more significant, like free or half price bonus packs, discounts on expansions. But items where the in-game advantages are available to all players, they may have to pay for them (since the veteran paid for the subscriptions over the years)

Other items I would think would be great veteran rewards, but have not been awarded yet. Additional Costume Slots, Unique Colors, Unique Capes and Auras, Rename credits, additional profiles, free server transfers and additional AE publishing slots. None make the character more powerful, but allow the players to stand out and/or correct errors of the past.

In a pinch, you could use the 2x2 room (Control Room 1, 100k Prestige) and just pile everything in like a cluttered closet.

As for the Turbine, a 2x2 (Energy Terminal 1, 100k Prestige) or any of the larger ones will fit it. The Turbine itself will take up most of two squares, so will fill half a 2x2 room. You shouldn't need any auxiliaries, since the Turbine provides sufficient Energy for your 11 Telepads, your Control items, Infirmary items and several other things on top of that. As an example, I have the Turbine in my SG base and it allows for the 11 Telepads, Supercomputer (plus 5 aux), 4 rez rings, Vault, base item crafting table, 8 Slow Fields and some defense turrets. And I still have some left over.
Thanks for the Info, if they can fit in a 2x2 room, I am good since these rooms will be moved off to side and likely never entered. I am trying to get the smallest possible base with 11 transporters.

Looks like I do an 8x8 with 8 transporters and expand it to an 8x12 minimal reorganization. Thanks.
  8. I found the Troll Tunnels great for setting up grinding missions, there is one and only front spot, so you can set the "I'm done" collectible up in there. The spawn density is dense, even on (+0,x1) and has a center core with many feeds off it so travelling from front to back on re-entry is quick.

It has 7 "Boss" rooms so its great for popping the big buffs and clearing the rooms before it wears off.

Its best for melee since there are many corners to duck behind when in trouble. I have no trouble using super speed inside. There are a couple corners that will trap NPC following though, for but that can be used for good or bad. the mobs get hung up on them too when running away (re tactfully retreating)
  9. I am trying to configure a base to eventually hold 11 telepads and have a couple questions. Only will have infirmary and Vault for other power drains.

What is a good (as in cheapest) energy control combination to run all this? and what rooms do I need to hold the control and energy items?

I found the stats for the energy output and control conversion, but could not find any where that states what size room is need to hold the Supercomputer, Turbine and needed auxiliaries. I plan to put these rooms pretty much out of sight so I just need it to fit, not necessarily look good.

I initially was going to have a basic 8x8 pad, but prestige is coming in faster than I expected.
  10. I've always looked as debt as way of slowing a characters development for people that may need it. If your dying, you likely need to work on this level a little longer

For people like me, with severe Altitis, I just park the character for a little bit and build patrol XP to pay the debt off while I play another toon.
  11. I agree there is not much CPU wise are memory wise that will help this machine. The GPU, could be upgraded, but what is there is more than enough for COH.

I repeat, SSD is by far the best bang for the machine, 64GB is more than enough, and install COH on it and any othe disk intensive game. You will not notice much while playing, monster will appear quicker. The big notice will be at login and zoning where the the machine is pulling large numbers of different textures and really seeking hard. That is SSD's spot. You will notice that you will always be the first in a zone of a team, changing zones will be faster and places where you approach large numbers of different textures (like Atlas Park during a costume contest)

Other option, its a great time to check out upgrading the monitor, prices have dropped hard on those recently. Or upgrade Keyboard, mouse and/or speakers, but those only need to be upgraded every couple years or more, if you buy quality parts. Also your win7 RC will be expiring soon, save some money aside for that.
  12. Add and SSD (Solid State Drive) and install Coh on it. Best Bang for buck

Otherwise system is great. The biggest Bottleneck is the HD, SSD addresses that.

    Really??!??

If I am selling multiple stacks of the same items I will always price the two stacks at different prices, so the lower priced one will go first and free up a slot sooner.

I also often put "suffixes" on buy prices to know if alt bought something like xxx105 is Debbie Dualblade's buy where xxx110 is William the Wolfboy's buy. Its not always right, but often I can tell when A character gets an item. Plus adding a little bit will put your purchase ahead of others. if a hundred people are offering 100,000,000 for something and you bid 100,000,001 you get it. Adding 110 or 105, gets in front of the +1 bidders.

If I see something selling for 10,000 solidly, I will bid 10,000 + plus a signature value to get next one. Then no mater what character I am playing I can tell, if I got it. if they are back to selling at 10,000. I know I got one.

I know both the LOTRO and WOW ones are built of the regular backups and are not on shared resources with game servers. If they tied them to game database, that would be bad.
  15. I remember the good old days at release when Atlas Park would have 3-5 instances. And scrolling the Tram destination List from all the multiple instances.

I was nostalgic for then When I saw the second instance of Pocket D.

There does need to be someway to change instances in Pocket D. I have not found one yet. Not sure how Villian side works with multi-instances as well
  16. A daily High/Low and Volume would be very useful. Could even have a Closing/Opening Bell when the Daily Resets.

An offline or online daily closing report would be really awesome.

    Where would they come from?

maybe use the same code tha prevent Mobs from spawning in sight, if no one is in the tram a couple may spawn, however they would not spawn if someone is already in them.

As for the people getting off the tram, where would they go? they just can't go "poof"

    Winter Lord

Or just let the lowest level take the initial agro. I often would rus to hit the guardians first when playing a lone level 20, and the frostlings would be level 20 then usually dead by the first AOE of the higher levels. Sometimes I could actually hold the agro of the Gaurdian, since the level 50 AOE heals of the high level healers keep me set with heal and energy there is no problem with energy or health.

The better organized groups let the lowbies start the attack. If your not after the badge, as a tank or any melee, your better off solo than in SSK up levels with a group, since the damage scales (except the spawning pet frostings). For healers higher is always better.

I do the same, Except I have some some that will be changing sides pending Going Rouge (I really want a Brute and Dominator Heroes, and a Defender Villain)

Does Coh have an out of game characters viewer like http://my.lotro.com/ or http://www.wowarmory.com/ ? I have found those very fun use.

I second that, My entire base is same style. The only reason I wanted to remove the wall trim is because it was not in doorways.

I would be nice if we could put items in doorways (and bring double wide doors back)

Of those two I'd recommend the Magic one, it's got some very nice costume parts.
So If I wanted the Magic Booster, and paying month to month, it would be cheaper to buy as an existing player to get the AE edition w/ magic pack with a month free, than the buying the magic pack outright for $10 and paying a month?
  22. I'll second the min specs needed for COH are low, it runs fine on my Netbook. I use it often when watching TV and playing CoH, mostly playing Wentworth's though.

But how about, a request to join in email. Only be sent to Leaders and by default they are automatically rejected. The leader could then accept and then when any user (not already in a Supergroup) on the the request account logs in, they get an invite they can accept or reject, until the accepted invite is deleted.

There is also the issue of off line promotions, which is not possible currently.
  23. I decided to buy one of the booster packs but now deciding which one.

I think I have it down to two.

    1) Super Science for the Body change

    or

    2) Ninja pack for the Skills at early levels.

Recomendations if only one is possible? I will likely get another in a couple months if I keep playing, but would like to start with just one.

I started with the GvE pack so I have Pocket D Pass, and Jet Booster.
  24. I have my entrance to my base set in a corner, but when I enter I always am facing the fall vs the center of the room.

Is there a way to fix this?
  25. AR/Dev was the first AT to reach the cap (level 40 at the time). Since then they have nerfed Caltrops. It works well with a technology theme, but every time I pull the rifle I wonder where I get it from.

I am liking my Traps/AR Defender so far. He is however a Jack of all Trades master of none type character. My goal with him is to take him villain side when I can. (I have a Brute and Master Mind to come to hero side).

But the above two are just more theme than power, I have found pretty much any AT powerset combination works well, it you play it to its strengths, and there is some fun in playing a "underpowered" or "unusual" combination.

The only conflicts with AR is the number of knockbacks you have, so power sets that root are not that good for solo, however, in groups its welcome by the tanks so they don't have to go chasing all the knockbacks.
