People Entering/Leaving The Tram?

This is a very small QoL issue that I'm sure would break the very fabrics of time and require the devs to spend 100+ hours of backbreaking labor mining data in the jungles of Cyber-African data mines, and that the implementation of this idea, or even postulating that it would work would tear a hole in the universe and suck out everything you know and love, including kittens.

That being said,

I'd like to see people simply getting on and getting off the tram. Just the occasional person or two, depending on the zone you're in. I could see Talos having at most 3-4 people walking off while IP would have 2-3, Croatoa would have a single, rare passerby, Founders would have a few, etc.

Why? Because the tram is paramount to Paragon City... It's the reason people don't drive many cars, I figure.

So, whaddya say? A few people stepping on/off the terminal? I don't see this causing too much frustration, seeing as how the to/from terminals are in different places.

Edit: And now, two signs will be placed on the tram:
"DEPARTING" on the tram that will actually take you to the difference places, and two signs on the tram where you arrive into: "ARRIVALS" posted over the station, and a large "NO ENTRY" sign over the entrance to the nook.

sounds good! Easy, quick, and no con's. It would fill in the city a bit more.

Especially at night. With a few 'flavour' groups being tormented by ghosts.

Is Derek Acorah a known entity across the pond?

Only if we can walk through them. Otherwise I'd find them as annoying as meeting them in a mayhem/safeguard mission. Especially if I have a timed mission somewhere.

Well, think of it as a 'flow'.

I can't guaruntee you can pass through them, since you can't anywhere else, but note that when you leave the tram, you're getting out at a secondary gate that you don't use to board the tram.

People will be leaving through this secondary gate... At maybe 3-6 per arrival, that's not even that much of a pushing force OUT of the secondary gate.

Meanwhile, the 3-6 that are looking to board the tram will do so in an orderly fashion in the main gate, since there's more than enough time. These departees will only travel into the tram's primary entrance, thus giving a (weak) force that wouldn't move your character anywhere but closer to the tram itself.

This would be pretty cool.

Put a 'No entry' sign on the Out Door of the station.
Only a few weeks ago, someone on our team was going 'I cant get on the train!' I twigged fairly fast it was the wrong door
Or make that bit block off entirely, and character simply step out of a standard mission door.

The NPC idea sounds good. But yes, no more Mag 100 Sillystrength, please.

"EXIT ONLY" on the exit side.

I like the idea of civilians boarding the tram, but ONLY if the number is kept low. I wouldn't want them to pile up enough when the doors are closed that I couldn't reach it to bring up the menu.

YES!

Edited the first post, just for you and Tech. :3

As for the amount of people: It would be kept VERY small... I would think that Atlas Park would have the maximum of 6-7 people coming/going at one time. Even with 6-7 people, it's not hard to imagine that it wouldn't be too hard, considering the train's gates stay open for a good, long period of time. Most places would shrink their amount of people to roughly 3-4 per time.

Sounds good to me, as long as they don't push me away from using the tram as previously stated.

Signed on the signs, as they are much needed.

I'm still not convinced that the civilians, even at 6-8 wouldn't prove annoying. 2-3 maybe.

Definitely /signed on the whole "Exit Only" sign deal.

Civilians only if we can push them like we can now push our pets. Even 3 of them standing right in front of the entry door would make it hard to click on. But the devs have been reluctant to implement pushable civilians, fearing that we'd grief civilians by herding them or pushing them off stuff, so /shrug.

You know, it never, ever occurred to me to "grief" the NPCs. Until you mentioned it. And I have to admit it would be tempting . . . .

Keep the waiting ones down to 2-3, regardless of zone. Some people don't realize you can click on the upper part of the door, too.

Make it so that, if pushed too many times, Civilians run away. Getting jostled by anyone, super or not, hero or villain, will cause most people to get the heck away from them, whatever the heck they are trying

Where would they come from?

maybe use the same code tha prevent Mobs from spawning in sight, if no one is in the tram a couple may spawn, however they would not spawn if someone is already in them.

As for the people getting off the tram, where would they go? they just can't go "poof"

Honestly, that would be an issue for the devs. I don't know if they're capable of making NPC civilians go 'poof', or if they can just make them temporarily invisible, untargettable, change their name, and then have that 'entity' that moves from the entrance to the exit with a new body, name, and tangibility.

That being said, I doubt they would want to change all those people, so I'd be hoping for the simple 'poof'.

Why not just have them slowly fade out as they do if you watch them walk away from you in IP?
