Honestly, I'd like to see a single pistol blaster; I just see a character holding and properly bracing 1 pistol as a whole lot more dangerous and skilled than someone wildly firing 2 pistols.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm guessing you haven't played Left 4 Dead then.

I recommend a fifth of bourbon.

But hey, if it would make you happier go with the other suggestions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Glad I'm not the only one that thought that when I read the title.

    [/ QUOTE ]

LOL, glad to see I'm not alone either!

Now if we just had a Drunken Master powerset.
  3. First, you are running on a beta operating system. That's a pretty big detail to not even bring up in your initial post.

Have you done any of Doomlord's suggestions with the CCC or driver cleaner?

    [ QUOTE ]
Also I have written customer support a few times and have not received anything from them except a customer satisfaction survey.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Exactly what did you do? If you started an additional ticket after getting not getting a timely response to your original, then that could be why.

    [Edited for clarity]

In any event, this last go around I had to cold boot the computer and much to my chagrin, the computer made it to the bios screen (I can reach the menu and adjust all the MB settings) but after that the screen goes black.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So to be clear, currently your computer can't even boot to Windows?

Since you didn't state this, did you try pulling out your physics card to see if your machine boots properly then? If you didn't, well you know what to try next.

If you already tried that with no improvement then post your CohHelper report (link in my sig) so we can see what kind of motherboard/system you are working with.
  5. Don't waste your 'breath'. Though Kryhavoc would do better to call it just a personal preference instead of passing it off as a fact, as also done in this thread.

Back on topic, I also support FatherXmas's advice.

Will you be our poster child for listening to Support?

    Tech support?

..but I swear if my whole team map serves and I /bug it and they ask me for a hijack this....I'm gonna break something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Using /bug does NOT initiate support dialogue with a GM or CS for that matter. Using /petition does, however timely conversation is never guaranteed.

I searched for "+rescuer -badge" and that didn't show up, so I don't know what to tell you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Searching this specific Topic Category with just "rescuer" for 2 months, shows the thread I linked right after yours.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I don't know how long this has been going on, but in every single mission I've run since I14 went live that wasn't an AE mission, the hostages have been calling me Rescuer, instead of my character's name.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Search is your friend.

    Hostages forgot my name

They are faster than hard drives if you plug into the usb 2.0

    [/ QUOTE ]
Incorrect. A decent modern hard drive will beat out a USB flash drive rather thoroughly. A solid state disk is a different story.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well a 200x Flash Drive has quite a respectable response time. Also, file fragmentation isn't much of a concern with Flash Drives.

I heartily support using an SSD though. That will be what goes into my next computer.
  11. Just some basics to try:
[*]Disable Window's Sidebar[*]Disable any Windows Skinning programs

If those don't help, try reading this thread.

If nothing there helps, post reports from the first two links in my signature.
  12. And guess what we are going to ask for...

    Team Teleport

You didn't respond to ZM's second statement, though. You do realize that Team TP does not work on players unless they are a member of your team.

If it indeed is not working on team members then is sounds like they have the 'Prompt team teleport' setting enabled, which requires them to click a confirmation box to be tp-ed.

[Edit]Or another option is you've placed the self-TP power on both trays.

    Forums

Note that using Preview doesn't actually check whether length restrictions are met or not. I use Openoffice to check the number of characters before trying it out. Also, including certain special characters will make it go wonky, even to the point of giving an error message.

As for the Avatar graphic, make sure it is no bigger than 80x80 Pixels, and that it really is saved as a .gif, .jpg or .png file. If you're sure it is, then possibly the hosting site is the issue. I use photobucket.com to host mine and have never had an issue using them.

[Edit] If you only have Microsoft Paint to edit your Avatar graphic then I would try Gimp for your graphics editing.
  15. A search for "windows 7" in this particular list shows numerous threads, with this being the main one. You might want to try that search feature again.
  16. Navigating to boards.cityofheroes.com works fine, but trying to open most of the lists yields the following message:

    We cannot proceed.
Database error only visible to forum administrators

So far I've only been able to post this on the cityofvillains side.

What about the Kheld player who figured out a way to 2-shot Hamidon by putting an infinite number of slots in one of his blasts?

    [/ QUOTE ]

So is this really a covert Chuck Norris factoid?
  18. As to the problem you linked, this workaround is from Netminder in another thread.

"New Bug: When editting an arc, the MA editor is inserting "default" text into the description for hostages causing the arc to show errors (over size limit, only 300 characters permitted/Invalid HTML etc).
Workaround: Just delete the text and re-publish, but everytime you edit the arc, you will have to do this.
Workwround: Use a custom critter as a hostage instead of one of the provided ones (with a small description).

I also purchased a small fan when I bought the card, ram, and power supply and I hung it to the inside of my case blowing outwards through the side vent. When I looked at it the other day, it looks like it isn't going as fast as it should. Would it be because its a couple inches away from the motherboard fan and that the mb fan is I guess canceling out the other fan?

    [/ QUOTE ]

For proper cooling you need adequate airflow, and that can be a tricky thing. A fan's effectiveness is best rated by it's CFM rating (cubic feet per minute). The other consideration is whether the orientation of the fans are configured for negative or positive pressure.

Negative pressure would be say 80 cfm total directed out and 60 cfm total directed in, while positive pressure would be the opposite. Personally, I use negative pressure at around 70 out/40 in, but your configuration would need far more than that.

Odds are you be left with doing just as Doublehelix suggested and pull the hot air out. If you do, I would try to use a 'cylone' design like this one.

Er, unless you changed this yourself, it looks like something is messing with your system?

    Or maybe I'm hallucinating too...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I noticed that too. I'm a little bit confused as to why it's like that. =/

Also the WhoCrashed program doesn't work because my system shut down while I was trying to update XP and it doesn't show up. he only crashes it shows are from 2007.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In that case something is seriously bjorked on your system, maybe from malware or maybe from something else. Try running an online scan from here.

    [Edit]
This looks like the specs for your system. If so, you've done a lot of upgrading.

I'm now thinking it is heat damage to your power supply, motherboard or other internals. Looking at the motherboard specs show it to be a micro ATX, so the case is probably a micro ATX. The 4850 tends to get up to 90°C/194°F during gaming.

If you are indeed running that card in a micro ATX case, I would be surprised if you had enough airflow to keep your components from frying.

  22. If this is happening in AE missions then that appears to be 'working as designed'.

Though, if you are getting this with regular missions then that's a problem.

    Keyboard issues

Menu > Options > Keymapping > Keybind Profile

That is likely set to Joystick. If so, change it to Default and see if that helps.
