  1. What is there to "take care of"? Aside from a little bit of comic relief, there is no negative impact to gaming. This has been around as long as I've been playing and I doubt it's going to get fixed.

    Ack. While I can appreciate the time you took outlining your idea, I hope none of this ever makes it into the game.

    I don't know if I was somehow scarred as a child, but for the most part I can't stand the kind of atmosphere that tends to surround organized sports. All too often sports reinforce the thinking of if you are 2nd place you're still a loser. To a certain degree that kind of thinking is already in PvP, but at least that is a 'self-contained' part of CoX.

    I already try to avoid businesses with TV's playing on the weekends, because invariably there is some sports event blaring. I don't want to have to avoid CoX because it is becoming City of ESPN.

    The awesome song being referred to is probably the CoH or CoX login theme. The 'song' from that link is not something I've ever heard in CoX. Were you installing through Steam or something?

  4. Even if my idea can't be implemented, I hope we can at least get some kind of base editing improvements/additions. I like to spend time in the base editor like others spend time at the tailor.

    There is no Day Job that boosts Flight speed to +96.42 MPH.

    Again, the data reported in the movement section of Combat Attributes is accurate.
  6. For a long time now I've hoped for more Base lovings from the Devs. The recent additions of Super Leader and bin permissions are very welcome additions indeed, don't get me wrong. However, Base additions and improvements feel a lot farther down on the to-do list. This brings me to an idea that I haven't seen as of yet, so if it has I imagine someone will direct me to it.

    Ever since I've started playing CoX, I've wished the Base Editor was less.. well.. clunky. With one mis-click by mistake or even lag, the entire base color/style scheme can be totally screwed. Also, in extreme situations, Base members can be left 'out in the cold' if the Base is undergoing extreme renovation (ie items being sold/moved constantly during plot/room changes). It would be great to be able to actually edit the base in a virtual environment before applying the change.

    So here goes. Is it possible for the AE mission creation 'engine' to be reworked into a Base Architect? Granted, I have no idea about any of the coding considerations for this task, but if it could be done, this would solve so many problems.

    [*]Accidental base editing would be a thing of the past. (i.e. crap I sold the tp pad!)
    [*]Base plot editing could be done without inconveniencing base members during construction.
    [*]Conflicts could be caught before the plot is 'published'.
    [*]Teaching base editing to others would no longer pose any threat to the existing plot.



    I envision it working something like this.

    [*]The Base Architect would have access permissions set by the Super Leader just as bins do. In this case I would like to see separate permissions for the ability to view, edit and publish base builds.
    [*]The BA would be able to store at least 3 virtual base builds (maybe this number could be bigger for the smallest Bases).
    [*]New and improved base items could be unlocked much the way extra AE maps/critters etc are unlocked. Such possible additions are the green crystal light 'fixtures' in the big CoT maps, and even water fountains.


    I have more ideas, but this is a good starting point. Feedback please!
  7. I'm sure many players would love having the ability to build objects from scratch, but yes I wouldn't hold my breath.

    Yes, it does. It is clearly listed in the big red box between the UPC code and the ESRB rating. Also, my copies of the GvE Edition and Architect Edition both have it.

Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to play. A valid credit card or time card is required to activate. NC Interactive charges a monthly subscription fee for this product, separate from your ISP charges.


    IMO though, all this statement really does is release NC Interactive from liability if a parent decides to let those under 13 play. They don't have to actively enforce it.

    The fly speed number shown from right-clicking has been bugged for a long time. What is reported in the Movement section of Combat Attributes is the accurate number.

  12. Others have reported this happening to their bases.

    What I would do is before deleting any Beacons, make sure you can still replace it. That way if you lose the ability to place new ones, you can use the existing one to prove to support that is was previously unlocked.


    FYI, sending a /bug report does not start a Support dialogue. Use /petition.

  18. I would like to find out if anyone knows the formula used to determine the colour assigned to players names when Individual Name Colours are enabled?

    Basically, I'm hoping to find a way to 'choose' certain colours by tweaking the names.

    IMO, additional action like this would be more of a headache for not very much gain.
