Display settings disappeared?

My power blinked last night and it shut my computer and monitor down. When it came back up, my settings for 1440x900 were gone. This happened a few months ago, and I red/l'd my video card drivers, installed and all was good. Well now I can't get it back at all. I redownloaded everything, installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, system restore, uninstall, install. Nothing. It's just not there anymore =/

Now my game looks all funky because its in some weird 12xxbyxxx something weird which I can't remember right now. Anybody have any of this kind of weird randomness?

I have an ATI Radeon X1600/x1650 512mb
Vista 32bit

Try turning on your system. After it's up, unplug the monitor video cable and plug it back in. See if the resolution comes back.

It sounds like the OP is saying that the 1440x900 is no longer available as a desktop resolution.

Try adding it as a custom resolution.

Sometimes it can also depend on the monitor itself. Using "default plug and play monitor" doesn't always yield the best results. Is there a special driver for your monitor as well?
