qft!!!! trying to go for Lore alone would drive me insane.

There are folks who like to do stuff like this, such as opening 2400 superpacks or what not.

    I ain't one of them.

I know plenty of blastless blasters. It's a perfectly viable way to play. There will be more come Martial Combat.
The MM attacks in general need a review. They are generally terrible.

But anyone is allowed to play how they want.

(I have a feeling that Clarion will still be my no-brainer pick for all Blaster builds, though. )
I have a feeling that's NOT changing for plenty of blaster players in I24.

While I agree that the overall buffs to RANGE (not just blasters) changes the game significantly for blasters, I don't think the mez issue is changing all that much.

But to be honest with you combined with tier 1 and 2 blasting while mezzed AND break frees, I've (personally) never had that much trouble with mez on my blasters.

And yes this includes the ones not built to be soft capped.

IMPOSSIBLE in a game like this.

When you start dipping your toe into time travel and various areas of your game being in different time lines you are asking for trouble. EDIT: Doubly when you start STUPIDLY removing people/things from storylines that really SHOULD NOT be removed!!!!!
(But people already know my opinions on the retcon mess).

I no longer try to figure out the time line vs the leveling path or the what remains of a consistent storyline. (LMFAO!!!)

I just grin and play the game.

If it's not a specifically themed set, it'd be nice to work with a creator that has your 'Base' layer (such as these bodysuit designs) that you can then build upon. It's kinda sorta how Champions does layering, but they have a significantly more flexible base creator to work from.

I would like to think that we could see an upgrading or overhauling to the costume creator to allow this also. But I'm very pleased in the meantime that there's an understanding of costumes being more than just patterns and colors. Texturing particularly is going to be key to getting any Golden or Silver Age themed costume parts right and this is a step in the right direction.

    S.
Agreed. Though I think updating the costume creator would be a job of epic proportions.

I disagree with the flexibility of that other game's creator though. I find it very hard to find certain things I KNOW are there.

then again that might be just because I'm more used to other creators, like this game's.

Mehhh, if they are going to do that they might as well allow all the rest to work when exemplared also.

Pretty much this. With how much power we got in the first slots there isn't much left they can add that can impress me.

Now we just need more NON-Trial incarnate content, which from their teasers sounds like we will be getting in I24.

It would be the items most wanted by paying players. If the players knew what they were doing then the pieces could be already close to ready to be put into game code-wise. If not then the piece would have to be translated to code.

With ten (or more) a month you get a rate of pieces added to the game that is controllable, so the Dev's could decide how hard it was to verify the pieces were not copied material. The new pieces would be added in with the next patch, patches come much more often now, but it wouldn't be a player side view only. Everyone could see what your character looked like.

This could also be a baby step towards a more player designs every piece of clothing for their toon from head to foot. But a manageable way to move in the direction.

But COH was the first to do AE, so they can think along these lines and this might be the type of idea that could be fleshed out.
A contest where they pick maybe 10-20 every 3-4 months and add them to the game would work.

Still hands down one of the best comics of all time.

    "Marvels" was another good one.

I'd also recommend "Invincible," though some of the arcs are not for the weak of stomach.

Powers, as mentioned is also the boss.

For a somewhat related superhero/politics fare: Ex Machina, though it can move a bit slowly at points.

Fables is also good for fantasy.

The first 50 on the live servers was an ar/dev that burned through the sewers using stacked caltrops to do most of the heavy lifting. The first giant forum firestorm that I recall was the infamous "purple patch", which prevented teams from basically PL'ing themselves by taking on comically high level spawns.

DFB is simply a reflection of the desires of the playerbase, as expressed clearly and repeatedly over the previous 8 years.

It is a well constructed, dev approved escalator that imposes the framework of a team setting and a canon storyline to a behavior that people have always and will always pursue anyway.

It's less efficient than some 'black market' alternatives, but clearly it is efficient enough to satisfy the cravings of a large portion of the playerbase.

It is a fantastic addition to the game, one that I've greatly enjoyed since my return, alongside all the other stuff I've been doing (tip teams, running TFs, checking out the new low level content, newspapers, story teams, etc etc.)
You forgot about the legendary original winter lords during the "initial City of Blasters" era. Which Positron wanted to shut down the servers for to fix/patch, but was denied.

    Or so the legend goes.

  21. A select multiple, delete all at once option would be great.

I don't mind answering questions and helping people, but it gets REALLY old telling people things they should have figured out by accident by level 30. Repeatedly.

It is also aggravating dealing with players who do things like run into the next room and taunt a mob while playing a brute with only one power from their secondary. And then they either drag that mob back to the team that isn't ready for them, or die in that room and complain that the healer didn't follow them (even if there is no healer on the team).

I am aware that I have the option to quit or kick people, and I exercise both on occasion. It just bugs me that I feel the need to because necessity of doing either is avoidable. It's not a new issue by any means, it just seems to be more common now that DFB exists.

I'm of the opinion that DFB, the way it was implemented, was a mistake. It should have a cut-off point beyond which you cannot use it for easy leveling. Veteran players use it to get past the early levels, but how many of them use it to get all the way to 50? New players frequently get to level 50 without ever leaving Atlas Park, and it's worse than AE missions because they never learn how their powers acquired past level 10 work.

Now, do I rage against people repeatedly running DFBs in-game? Not at all, I let them do their thing. But when I team with those people it irritates me when they do things they should have learned not to a long time ago (in leveling terms).
You'd still be in the same situation prior to DFB, and after. And no, it was waaaay more common during the height of the AE. And I'd argue its NOT worse than AE. Those people using DFB are actually playing. Those in an AE farm cave mission are laying down dead while an ss/fire uses them for Veng bait. you tell me which is worse.

I'm not seeing the issue here.

I see no problem with using the kick/quit button daily. Life is waaay too short to get upset about something that isn't going to change anytime soon.

I don't agree that there should be any limits on dev-sanctioned content. AE, whack at it all you want.

Even CriticalKat's best efforts at the leagues fielded at most 10-12 teams, total. Now, there are none. As gallant as Sentry4 has been in hosting events nonstop on Virtue (and full credit for that), we've had at most a dozen to twenty people in RV and about the same in some Arena nights. That's not even mentioning the yeoman's work by Zwillinger helping with Leagues, Ex Libris before him and the blink of a Lighthouse somewhere in there too.

Not to say pre I13 was perfect, but instead of just working with us in fixing and balancing the most egregious stuff, it was all turned into a mashed up disaster.

People were always going to move to other games but our community is a shell of what it was and yeah, I13 can take a huge chunk of the blame.

As for your stat, we know it was around 10-15% of the playerbase, but seeing most of them had 2-3 accounts...
I13 killed pvp full stop. PVP was never really popular in this game. Full stop.

10-15% of the playerbase was anemic.

Do I want them roll back I13 pvp? yes. Will it ever happen? no.

Do I care any longer? **** no!

The places they have spent that money instead have been 110% greater than anything they could have done with pvp after I13. I don't miss pre or post I13 pvp. At all.

Everyone else's mileage will probably vary by 1001 degrees.
