I thought basically the same thing, though I thought "go in superhero, come out Tolkien Elf", so not exactly the same but in the same ballpark.

With your requests in mind, we've pushed very hard to make this a priority because I know, after reading all your requests, what you want and how long many of you have waited for certain items. Will every player get everything they want right away as a result of this? Of course not, but it's another way of addressing the essentially infinite list of requests, and it'll make a dent--that's for sure.

Wish I could tell you specifically what's coming, because I know many of you will be VERY excited about the additions, but it's in progress as we speak, and anyway you'll have to wait and see. In many cases, decisions have been made specifically because of things posted on this forum. 'You know, if we adjusted the concept slightly, we could make that (fill in the blank) the players have been asking about.'

Down the road, when it ships, I hope you'll let me know if we've hit the mark.

    Cheers.

Tying a General Discussion thread into this one, how do you say "Caer" in "Bannog"? Care? K-eye-r? Chair? Ch-eye-r? Keer? XD

(I'm well aware "Caer Bannog" is not a Latin phrase so it doesn't actually tie directly in to that thread. )

Rommie has boss level immobilize protection (as with most AVs). Just sayin'.

  6. OP: You are thinking of Assemble the Team from Veteran Rewards, and Summon Teammates from Safeguards/Mayhems. These two are "group-wide recall friend".

Team Teleport works like Teleport (self), except you and anyone around you is teleported (Team Teleport), instead of just you (Teleport).
  7. There's "suppress close FX" but that only turns off buffs on your characterw hen you're within a certain distance. It does not affect others' effects.

Turning down particle effects will make fewer bits stay on screen. It will, of course, empty out the explosions and stuff, making it seem faker.

    Communication 101.
It's also a matter of colloquialism, too. I have a subset of my family tree that calls couches "davenports", and they're certainly ...not ...sophisticated. :x It's not a siphistication thing so much as an "everyone else calls them this" thing.

Read all relevant links from there.

Also, go to the Market forum and look at the stickies there, including guides, for help with money management issues.
  11. I was going to suggest something like your new workup, except not quite so epic. And then I forgot about it while hunting down information about Sentry, which turned into trolling Wikipedia for comic lore, which turn into trolling Google images for pictures of comic covers, and then I closed the window and went to bed....

Yep. I had other friends reimbursed (one of them was someone reimbursed from the original global crash, lol) during the 30-day fiasco, but yes, people were reimbursed. One person I know who was reimbursed nearly threw a b---- fit because it was almost a billion and a half inf lost! lol

It's not only happened to me on Youtube, I've mentioned it in-game when I noticed a player going around as 'Statick Shokk' and I got flooded in broadcast with people calling me a jerk for mentioning the rule. I mean...what did I do wrong?

The rule is there for a reason, Marvel even had there own employees spying on this game. Whats stopping other companies from doing the same? I don't want to see players causing NCSoft and Paragon Studios to be sued and having to shut down City of Heroes simply because a player decided to make a Vegeta, Bart Simpson, Spiderman or Wonder Woman. I bring up the rule because no one else seems to care unless it's something mentioned on the forums.
If you're going to petition someone, petition them and move on. Don't tell them about it. Don't mention it in broadcast. Just do it and be done.

Personally, the only time I petition someone is if it is a total blatant ripoff (Incredible Bulk, green skin, purple shorts) and they have vet badges enough that they should know better. (I typically let zero, three, and six monthers get off with a polite question on whether they know the rules.) Or if the bio says something like "yeah yeah, this is a ripoff character, SO WHAT!!!"

It's the same with ignoring someone. No one else frikken CARES. Ignore them and be done! Don't tell them, don't tell your audience, don't announce it to the world. No one cares. The troll you're ignoring sure doesn't! Telling someone you're ignoring them is second grade bullcrap.
  14. One of my friends was reimbursed inf, the other two were reimbursed items - some salvage, a couple recipes, and some crafted enhancements.

    Globals Down?

Wrong. As stated in the other thread on this subject, three people I know were reimbursed for missing items, so they had to have reimbursed pretty much anyone that asked. Which sets precedence to request reimbursement this time.

Um. So very, very wrong. They reimbursed three people I personally know, so they had to have reimbursed a lot more people than that.

PLEASE NOTE: je_saist is only part right. Different ATs get different buff values --

Defenders' base value for Tactics is 12.5% ToHit.

    Controller/Corruptor/VEAT base value is 10%.

HEATs get 9%, Dominator/Masermind get 7.5%, all other ATs get 7%. These are the archetypes where the final numbers start looking anemic.

Although he is correct in that Tactics does not grant tohit debuff protection, so if you don't have any enhancements slotted and are facing, for example, Circle of Thorns... prepare for whiff-fest.

    Open Mids.

Make a build. Select Tactics. Turn tactics on by making the little toggle button green. Look at final accuracy chance of an attack/debuff/whatever. Turn tactics off by making the little toggle button not-green. Look at final accuracy chance of an attack/debuff/whatever.

Slot an accuracy in your attack/debuff/whatever. Look at final accuracy chance of attack/debuff/whatever. Turn tactics on. Look at final accuracy chance of attack/debuff/whatever.

    That is what it does.

    WAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY OVERKILL. Holy cow!!!

Did you know that activating one attack is generally the same as running a standard toggle for one to five minutes, depending on the attack and the toggle?

One endrdx in an attack is generally two to five times more effective than a single endrdx in a toggle.

    Example:

Tanker > Super Strength > Jab costs 3.54 endurance; combined with the activation/recharge rate, that works out to about 1.15 end per second.
Tanker > Super Strength > Jab with one white SO (33.3%) costs 2.65 endurance; combined with activation/recharge, that works out to .86 eps, a savings of .29 eps.

Tanker > Invulnerability > Temporary Invulnerability costs .26 eps. This is already lower than the amount of eps that Jab is reduced by if you slot one endrdx in it.
Tanker > Invulnerability > Temporary Inulnerability with one white SO costs .2 eps, a reduction of .06 eps. Read that again: you only save less than one tenth of an endurance point per second.

Tanker > Super Strength > Punch slotted with one endrdx saves .25 eps.
Tanker > Super Strength > Haymaker slotted with one endrdx saves .23 eps.
Tanker > Super Strength > Knockout Blow slotted with one endrdx saves .17 eps.
Tanker > Super Strength > Foot Stomp slotted with one endrdx saves .21 eps.

Get the picture? Slotting more than one endrdx in a toggle is such a waste of slots. Instead, put those two extra slots per toggle in something useful, like an attack that uses a lot of endurance.
