AI changes? Returning Veteran is puzzled...

I hear Ellen left the show and Kara ain't coming back either...

Wait, wrong AI.

<Ahem, sorry about that...>

I took a brief respite from the game and am back leveling a bs/sh scrapper and I am puzzled at mob behavior.

On multiple occasions I have had a mob no larger than 10 baddies and 1-2 of them will not agro unless I attack them directly.

There are other minor things I have noticed that are too complicated to go into other than to say I have seen some really stupid mobs of late.

Has anyone else noticed? Has the AI changed over the last two issues?

Well depending how long you have been away they did lower or introduce limits on how many critters you can have aggro on. There are also new limits on the number of critters an AoE affects and taunts only affect 5.

Days of herding maps are long gone.

Except for Rommie. That dolt still insists on running all the way to his front door and up into the hills whenever he feels the need to go for a jog, even when he's got multiple taunts stacked on him. I've had it happen often enough on ITF's that I've run that I just tell the team to sit back and wait for him to tire himself out and return. Its as good a time to rebuff, heal and recover End as any I suppose, heh.

Rommie has boss level immobilize protection (as with most AVs). Just sayin'.

Tying a General Discussion thread into this one, how do you say "Caer" in "Bannog"? Care? K-eye-r? Chair? Ch-eye-r? Keer? XD

(I'm well aware "Caer Bannog" is not a Latin phrase so it doesn't actually tie directly in to that thread. )

Sometimes there's a lack of immobilizes

Oh yeah, but when you're on a team that doesn't have much in the way of Immobs (if any) that doesn't matter. But you'd think that with a couple of Tanks cross-taunting him and a Brute or two with punch-voke that he'd be taunted so much that the thought of going for a jog would be the farthest thing from his mind at the time, heh. But no, he still insists that he needs to get in his daily run like any good health nut no matter what, lol.

Not saying that it happens every time mind you, but often enough since the "run" coding was changed that it can be a nuisance.

The enchanter ("Some call me...Tim!") pronounces it "Kay-ar" (sounds like "liar"). Honestly I had to look up the spelling. For years I've been spelling it Cair, merely because I never saw it written.

Dec out.
