Just an FYI, the bundles weren't even on the beta server until last week, so finger-pointing there isn't really helpful. Not to mention the majority of the player base doesn't even have Beta installed, let alone up to date or willing to log in to it. Heck, the majority of the player base doesn't even visit the forums and so has no idea how to GET the beta server.

The mac pack porter is grayed out until level 2 or 4, I forget. That may be why you're missing seeing it, if you're on a baby character.

Quote:I'm just wondering why they didn't do Only Affect Self instead of detoggle. Oh no, I can click self heals and keep my toggles running! The number of animations required to 'fix' Only Affect Self animations is a fraction of the total number of animations in the game. (Especially since most of the Only Affect Self powers all use a handful of the same animations.)I have a sneaking suspicion that for every person who refuses to buy the Rocket Board (for whatever reason) there'll be MORE than that one person who will. These virtual items represent almost 100% pure profit for the company anyway - they can probably stand to have some people not buy them.
If you can't understand why the Devs decided to give the Rocket Board a built-in detoggle disadvantage (like Walk has) then you're probably better off without it anyway... -
Alternately, holler in broadcast/help for people to queue up. Every time I did that after waiting longer than necessary (I am impatient; I give it 5 minutes, then holler), I was in a trial within a couple minutes.
(I really wish they would give us a LFG chat channel that we could, you know, CHAT IN, instead of the LFG chat channel that they are using to make stupid game announcements in. Hi, you can put those in system, dammit! They're system messages! I hate clogging /help with LFG messages.) -
Purchase history: /mypurchases
Warning: it dumps a huge text list into your chat, so you will need to scroll for details. -

Quote:The OP is by Beastyle, not Avatea, and it says 4am.I didn't say she got the wrong time change, I said she forgot to change the world date/time clock link.
She change it to read 3am but the link still points to 4am: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...0&sec=0&p1=224
edit --- oooooh. The official announcement was changed but not this one. I never look at the official announcements, only the discussion threads. -
No, she didn't give the wrong time change. It's down an hour earlier than it says. It's just after 3am Pacific right now.

Rrrg...I was in the process of making Galaxy Guy to park in the old Galaxy. Can't enter the game because the "server may be busy". What? Sadface!
They're not supposed to be down for another hour. -
If nothing else, having a tally next to the server name with how many characters reside on a server would be nice. Several current MMOs do this.

Oliin is correct. This is what I did with the GR beta and it worked flawlessly. Got into game in about three minutes, with most of that being taken up by the file check after pasting.
Since there will be some updates that never made it to beta this time around, there will probably be some kind of patching necessary but it won't be the whole 2.5 GB download that it would be otherwise. -
Quote:At the end of the maintenance period, which will be before, at, or after 1pm Pacific.I know that.
But there can still be an "announced" time that, barring unforseen issues, it should become available for logging in.
Right now, I have *no* idea when it might happen. 5 minutes from now? 23:55 EST on the 13th? Somewhere in between?
I'm at work now, and need to know if I should plan to take my lunch break to run home and try to get my toon's names before they all get snapped up. -
Pixelforge: Currently, there is one board. It's red and white striped, looks like a bulky surfboard with some tiny engines on it.
I would buy Rocket Board in an instant if it meant any future "similar technology flight powers" ("Vehicular Flight"?) came free when released as a "customization" of my original purchase. I would have it grant different flight animations, e.g. a rocket board, a broomstick, a flying carpet, an energy disc, etc., based on different toggles ala Swap Ammo/Prestige Sprints.
If I have to separately purchase every single different vehicular flight "individual power", especially at close to a thousand points EACH, there is no way in heck I'm buying multiples. I might not even buy Rocket Board, just on principle. -
You get a token for every $15 spent, but I'm not sure how they got 8 out of it...$100/15 is 6 and some change, so adding in the token for the first time purchasing points, that grants 7 tokens, not 8.

Quote:They said in beta that the Tier 9 VIP rewards will come back, though they never actually said HOW they would come back. Either rotating back in or as a store purchase was the playerbase assumption. To ask the question that I don't think has ever been directly answered (that I saw, anyway), and mostly just for clarification purposes: The Celestial Set will eventually come back, yes? The phrase "rotate out" and references to revolving rewards implies that they will return at some point after some other new group of VIP rewards is rotated out in turn.
But the part about giving out warnings so that people can scramble to pay their way to the top is a bit disconcerting, since it gives the opposite impression. -
Paragon Reward Tokens are used on the Paragon Rewards Program. Paragon Points are used on the Paragon Market.
I just want everyone to stop calling tokens "points". They're not points. They're tokens. If we clean up our language, then we don't stand a chance of confusing each other and the incoming newbies. -

They have the math question to ask and they have the answer. Yes. They knew it was wrong.

Quote:You never modify the game client by placing items in the data folder. You only change where the game reads its stored data from. Nothing is modified in the client. The EULA says you cannot modify the operation of the game. While you are not modifying the game FILES, you are modifying the GAME. By placing those files there, you are modifying the game client. When you launch the game, it is different than the default.
And I don't ever recall seeing where it was said that the uncompressed folder bit was there for US to use.
Now, I will grant you things like this IS why "or not" gets put into EULAs. And as far as I know, nothing really prevents them from closing the folder trick.
Not only have the rednames "silently" acknowledged that this is OK, they have actually voiced their approval with data folder replacements: especially when it comes to replacing sounds (especially sounds that cause medical issues). -
Quote:Gary is amazing.I'm glad to hear that Alphas gets a second season. Ryan Cartwright the actor that plays Gary just steals the show. Great character, interesting ability and he has some of the best lines from the show.. "Bill give me a gun." "No Gary." "Fine then Bill give me a grenade."

Quote:Although I do find it interesting that they also specify mods, I wonder where that leaves the VidiotMaps pack and other such graphical mods. I doubt they would enforce any of this as those mods are pretty harmless, but that's still interesting. Was that in the previous EULA?Quote:Yes, they were pretty much (worded differently, but mods weren't allowed). I found a copy of the EULA from 2006 and it expressly forbid "modification" to the client. VidiotMaps has been linked officially by NC/Cryptic years ago as a top fan site or something another... also, one of the loading screen tips says that 'wiki.cohtitan.com is something something excellent resource'. While paragonwiki isn't a mod, I doubt they'd link to any part of CoH Titan in-game if they were concerned about any of the software on the site.
Second: Vidiotmaps is not "modding" the game. It is placing files in a subfolder that the game specifically looks for to overwrite sounds/images/whatever in the piggs. "Modding" the game is specifically changing the actual game files themselves. Vidiotmaps does not change a single file of the game itself.
The only part of vidiotmaps that could possibly be against the rules is someone finding out where to put those images and sounds and whatever else in order to replace them. (This is commonly called "pigg diving".) Dropping a file into a specific data folder hierarchy in order to replace something is not against the rules. -
Quote:Oooh, I thought that only applied to the actual SET BONUSES, not the global portions. Nice! This would normally be true, but PVP IOs follow the purple rule: Their set bonuses never go away, no matter how low you exemplar. This includes The +3 def and +3 resist uniques.
EDIT: Since neither of the IOs in question have any enhancement value, there is no compelling reason to select any specific level, except to allow them to be slotted earlier.
