  1. Great! Thanks for the replies.
  2. Been searching for a bit and can't find the answer to this question:

Do the Alpha slot incarnate abilities that increase the healing for healing powers also increase the +Max HP components from powers that provide them? (i.e. Dull Pain, Serum)

    E.g.a.d.!!!

I've been in the SG for a couple of weeks now, and it's sure quiet around there. Most of the big names that I was excited about playing with when I joined are missing-in-action. Is everyone just hibernating until staff-fighting comes out?
  4. Don't have room for beanbag chairs? I don't understand this statement...
  5. If you're still looking for characters, here's a bio on mine. I can provide pictures, but I trust the imagination of the writer to portray him accurately.

    Name: Obsidian Atonement

In the beginning, a dark, immortal mother saw fit to leave her only child among the shadowy depths of Paragon City. As a parting gift, as well as a catalyst for his inevitable power, she stabbed an enchanted blade into his stomach and broke off its hilt. Throughout the child’s growth, the pain within turned him into a fierce killer fueled by an immense rage, though his noble nature kept him from being consumed and turning to a life of evil. In his teens, the superheroes of Paragon discovered his talents and recruited him, vowing that they’d see the cursed blade removed from the child’s body if he wished it.

Unknown to them all, the youth’s rage had developed an intelligence of its own after spending years mingling with the immortal blood that surrounded it. After a minor surgery, the young man was free from his affliction and fully capable of expelling the rage from his body. Unfortunately, the Rage would not surrender its newfound life so easily. The excreted entity happened to find its way to a Shadow Cyst and wrapped itself around a weakened Nictus. In that moment, an egregious bond was forged.

While the Nictus had no desire to bond with the Rage, it did not have the strength to completely fight its way free. Still, for the price of eternal captivity and servitude, the Nictus managed to keep its new host from using the powerful energy forms of its species. Over the years, the newborn creature pulled together the matter around itself to form a replica of a human form capable of passing unnoticed through the streets of Paragon. With a physical body intact, the dark being has become a twisted abomination of Human and Warshade, and it lives only for making its previous host pay for expelling it into the wretched realms of humankind.

Obsidian Atonement is not a hero, nor a villain. Its fighting is nothing more than practice. Its arrests are nothing more than coincidences. Any good deeds traced to this being are a lucky result of training against the ‘correct’ enemy. This being is capable of speaking and exhibiting emotion, though it rarely sees any point in either. Every cell it inhabits exists to one day crush his true enemy’s body into oblivion.
  6. He might be taking the whole "fighting with duct tape" concept a little too far, eh?

    Mouse running

    Yes!

Thank you Aggelakis! It worked! I owe you a soul.

    Mouse running

I've searched all over the in-game options menu and I can't find what I need... Does anyone know of a setting that will enable or disable autorun from kicking in when you hold down both mouse buttons to run? This is really cramping my style...

    "Alien"

I never thought of that. SS has always been such an End killer for my other toons that don't have the luxury of Stygian Circle that I've never thought to just keep it on. Little rough to control my positioning with it on, but I guess I could get used to that.

Thanks for the responses so far. More ideas are indeed still welcome.
  10. Human-Only? Well, pick up Gravity Well, Gravitic Emanation, Eclipse, Dark Extraction, and Stygian Circle as soon as they're available. Recharge is a blessing, so Hasten will do you well too. Outside of that, everything else will be either forced on you or you'll decide on it based upon your experience leveling. You won't get it right on the first go, so keep your respec's handy and use them when you've done some serious consideration and realized that it's not quite going the way you'd like it to go. Warshades are not one-size-fits-all, but they are pretty much awesome in any possible way that an experienced player decides to shape them.

Oh, learn our mantra! (Also linked in the above post.)
  11. I've been a 50 WS for quite some time now, and I've switched back and forth from Tri-form to Human-Only three times. Finally, I've stopped on Human/Dwarf; Not a frequently traveled road I hear, but it's working out well so far. It took me this long to discover my problem with Human-Only, and I have one question for the experts... How do you keep your pets alive?

I love to stay in human form: Hasten pops at the exact moment that it's ready, Eclipse and Dark Ext. are going off moments after their ready, and Unchain is always on hand at the beginning of each mob. But, killing goes SO much slower when my fluffies aren't there to back me up, and without Dwarf's taunt, I can't keep the enemies from killing them. How do you guys do it? Is there a strategy that I'm missing?

I tend to run at +0/x6, and my usual rotation is Eclipse (when it's up, otherwise Grav. Em. to get 'em all stumbling around), Mire, Grav. Well on a minion (or the Void/Quantum), Unchain (or Dark Ext. or both if they're up), then I chew through whatever is left. This works out fine, except for that pull when I'm moving so fast that Grav. Em. isn't up OR when I get mezzed (which is fairly frequent). At that point, I'm taking so long that Eclipse is about to fall off and I'm left with three mobs up and no pets. Not a serious problem, mind you, but an annoyance so severe that I've had to respec out of Human-Only three times.

So, how do you guys do it?

(P.S. I don't think this is a build problem, but if you guys think that it might be, I'll post my Mids build when I get home.)

That would surely be epic in my book. Honestly though, you've done more than enough by writing a great guide and answering the questions that followed it.
  13. Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I don't mind going back to building the T1, I just didn't want to do something stupid like rebuilding T1 and have it erase my T3 or something crazy like that.
  14. Okay, after hopping into the game, I see where I'm confused: So, it appears as if I can't make the Spiritual Total Core Revamp now that I've made the Spiritual Partial Core Revamp. The requirements for the second rare are the first two tiers, but those two powers are showing in red since I used them to make the first rare (Hope I'm making sense here.) So, do I need to start building T1 again in order to get the second rare?
  15. Oh, I see. Makes sense. Not sure why exactly that confused me before, but thanks.
  16. I have a question about the Alpha slot. My most-played toon has gotten to T3 of the Alpha, and the requirements to proceed further seem a little confusing to me. Do you have to craft your way up two sides of the tree in order to get to the two T4 powers?
  17. _Relikk_

    Bad ws powers?

I tend to use Dark Detonation as more of crowd control attack than anything. If GravEman didn't catch the whole group, and we're in a relatively tight space, DD will make sure the rest are on their backs as well and still positioned for the rest of my arsenal.
  18. I think it depends on the player's personality. I, personally, don't like leaving things unfinished, so I've deleted many alts. (Though I refuse to do this after level 44; If I played it for that long, it had to be fun, so it's definitely a keeper.)

The progress of characters in-game now isn't what it used to be. 1-50 is a much smoother road, which makes it much easier to delete a toon that couldn't cut it. Also, as someone mentioned before, the Incarnate system has changed things. If I'm not excited about the rigorous journey for the character to finally unlock that Omega slot, it's gone! For me, playing the lowbie alts only takes away from the progress I could be making on my handful of 50's that make me smile each time I see them staring back at me from the select screen.
  19. Cheap Fire/Shield build, here I come!

    Thanks!

  24. I don't think the OP, quoted in my sig, ventures here anymore, though I hope that I'm wrong. I've felt the urge to continue the tales myself, but the first one I wrote up there gave me a feeling that it was inappropriate.
