  1. Does this mean Statesman's going to start singing?

    "We could be heroes, just for one day!"

    So start copying characters to beta, and install the beta client if you haven't done so yet. If we pull this off, this can and will only happen on beta.

    You definitely did, I believe you, I'll try to be there, and I wish we all could too.

    And Arcana, thank you for trying to make this game just a little bit better.

    Don't lose Hope

  4. Unlocking some free server transfers would be nice, like that pack you sold at the start of Freedom (5 server transfers for 100 points if I recall). There aren't that many active players left and it'd be nice if we could just flock together.

    This makes alot of sense, and it's a wonder why something like this hasn't been implemented already.

    Well, it makes sense, <Br> + X. Who'd want to play a normal person in a force sensitive world? Even in this game, I tend to avoid the Natural origin like the plague ^_^
  10. Outleveling content.

    Even with Ouroboros, it just seems weird for a hero to let a crime take place just because it's beneath his notice. We should have been able to accept grey missions, even if they awarded no experience or rewards.
  11. I'd definitely check out Positron's game if he developed one. Things I'd like to see?

    1) Better power customization, things like:

    - customizable name for each power
    - customizable thematic origin for each power rather than powerset (magic, technology, mutant, science, natural, etc)
    - customizable weapon (blades, guns, staffs, fists, palms, eyebeams, blueberry pies, ect)
    - customizable type of projectile (bullet, bolt, blast, ray, etc)
    - customizable damage type (electric, fire, psychic, etc)
    - customizable animation style (brutish, professional, stylish, flamboyant, etc)
    - Customizable pets if there's a Mastermind AT
    - Minimal FX option for all defensive, shapeshifting or buff powers

    2) Better PC customization and development, things like:

    - two costumes at character creation (civilian clothes and hero uniform)
    - two names at character creation (civilian name and hero name)
    - character origin having a visual impact on the GUI (tech heroes could have a steampunk-looking GUI, for example)
    - a personal apartment and vehicle (even if it's just a car or airship that can't get out of the garage)
    - Closer involvement of the PCs in the meta-plot (like the missions designed post Freedom or even like SWTOR)
    - more recurring NPCs that remember their previous involvement with the PCs

    Hey, I have one of those too! Just Nova without the Knight, and my 1st 50 too! Btw, he's completely OP in the beta right now, so I changed his name to Nuke and gave the Nova name to my little Peacebringer

    Ahh, I will miss this game...
  13. Even before the shutdown notice came, I was planning to make a perfect run with what I consider to be each of the eight different storylines in the game, which would have included the new missions in Beta. I even had a .txt with their backgrounds and descriptions, but I procrastinated too much and now there's not enough time to do them all...

    - Hero (Peacebringer) - Completed
    - Vigilante (Warshade) - Completed
    - Rogue (Soldier) - Never got started
    - Villain (Widow) - Completed

    - Warden - In progress
    - Crusader - Never got started
    - Top Dog - Never got started
    - Interrogator - Never got started

    Yeah, it's kinda like copying a saved costume file dressed in the Cybertech Jacket from Beta to Live, the character creator recognizes it, but the store won't let us buy it.
  15. Woot!!

    Though you can't buy it from the store, but the numbers are there anyway

    My personal annoying mob is Master Illusionists. It seems unfair that they can Phase Shift even when mezzed. Even Fake Nemesi can't activate PFF when mezzed, and Paragon Protectors can't MoG.

    ("Nemesi" is the plural of "Nemesis", right?)
    Ugh, sorry, could swear reading something along the lines of a fix to bosses t9 res limits, but I might just be mixing up patch notes and logical things in the suggestion box.

    P.S. I think Nemesis is its own plural. It's the name of a greek goddess and it ends with an s, so the plural is always going to sound weird, like Jesus, Lewis, Santa Claus, and etc.
  18. - As you enter the Tutorial, Officer Daniels asks you if you could put the radio back where you found it.
    - You swear the Giant Shivan just pointed at your costume and snickered before slithering back into that hole.
    - Even though you've drained Blue Spectrum's powers, you still end up in the Longbow safe zone.
    - You never got the fitness pool at lvl 2, just a text clue directing you to the nearest gym.
    - Twinshot refused to invite you to join the Shining Stars, you're just not cool enough to fit in.
    - The Menders keep making you take Pilgrim's initiation mission over and over again, refusing to accept you've visited Ouroboros before.
    - Instead of cloning you during Agent Nance and Jenni Adair's arcs, Proteon chose to clone Flambeaux instead.
    - You're a little irked that stores always doublecheck your hero ID before allowing you to purchase enhancements.
    - There's a weird cheering sound whenever you type /respec, even when you don't have any respecs available.
  19. 5) Carnies, I hate those phasing Master Illusionists and their invincible Phantom Armies that linger on when the boss is defeated;

    4) Tsoo, those teleporting Sorcerers are extremely annoying in numbers for any build without burst damage;

    3) Vanguard, and their op endurance curse, plus even without it they're so much stronger than the Rikti that it's ridiculous the war lasted that long;

    2) Shock Therapy, once she hits her Tier 9 she's a ranged sapper with 90% res to everything... They fixed her recently, but for history's sake, she deserves a mention;

    1) The Shivan Meteor, why travel forward in time to spend 10 minutes hitting a piece of rock?

  22. Barring Manticore's mansion? Probably an apartment with full view of city hall in Atlas Park. If stuck in the Rogue Isles, I'd say Agincourt in Nerva Archipelago.

    But I don't know their plans at all, but since they said they were willing to sell the IP but there was no takers, I just wonder why no one would spend the million.
    A million is nothing, the playerbase would cover that in a week. If everyone who signed the petition donated 100$, we'd easily have that million and more than enough to buy a bunch of servers. That said, it's doubtful that NCSoft's willing to give away something that was generating 5 million a year for that little cash, and to a direct competitor, no less, even if it means antagonizing the hardcore fans. Plus, as you said, even assuming whoever bought the game cut production and maintenance costs to a minimum, it'd take at least 4 years plus taxes to regain that initial 20 million investment, even assuming the playerbase wouldn't dwindle by 2016.

    In a nutshell, it's just not profitable for any outside company to invest in the game, just as it's unprofitable for NCSoft to give it away for "free". All we could do was appeal to their decency and hope they'd accept releasing an old IP to the players as a PR boost, but apparently NCSoft sees it otherwise, so the game is stuck in a limbo until hell freezes over.

    Me? I blame the absurdity of intelectual property laws...

    No thanks, November 30 will be the last day I'll ever touch an NCSoft product. I'm also being mean and unreasonable by telling everyone I know not to buy stuff from them ever again.
