  1. Yeah giving out a build would help, so I can have a look at it for you. Consider building for good Smashing/Lethal defence to combine with your Cold shield from the APP.
  2. Corrs are great. I probably prefer them overall to Defenders since they pump out more overall damage with Scourge and even though the buff values are less I don't really find it noticeable when teamed.
  3. What would you suggest swapping out Wassabi? Keep in mind I'd like to stay at the SL softcap and keep the leadership powers.

  5. Glad I could help. I pretty much take Hasten in every build, but Willpower is one of the ones where it's not really needed, as even SoW has a set recharge. Mace however I guess benefits quite nicely. Who wouldn't want Crowd Control up as often as possible!
  6. Thanks for that build Inspid, some interesting ideas in it. Were you slotting the Devastations for the Health Bonus, because they can be swapped out for Deci's to give pretty much as good a recharge as my build. Guassian's can also be swapped out for Rectified Reticles which give better SL Def for less slots.

    Oh, and if you give it one more slot I like Five Doctored Wounds and an Acc in Transfusion for the rech.

    I like the Web Cocoon slotting aswell, and also using Stealth for a nice def bonus.
  7. I had a go at softcapping SL defence on your Mace/WP Brute. Some odd slotting but overall not too bad. 45% recharge too but no PPP or Hasten. Could swap in Hasten instead of SJ if your clown wants to use Ninja Run.

    What is it...

    I team a lot more than I solo, and after a year of having it, I find myself hardly ever using it since it just dies too quickly and the buffs are neglible.

  11. Like Gilia said, I highly recommend considering the Ice Epic to softcap Smashing/Lethal defence. However, I understand if you want to stick with Fire for RotP

    So I had a go at your build, only thing I did power choices wise was swap Burn for Maneuvers. I think you'll be fine personally hopping in and out of mobs to line up Empty Clips.

    For the build, I got you 34% Melee defence so you can pop a purple to softcap, and 21% ranged which isn't great but should be noticeable. The build has 65% recharge which should be good for getting HoB and all your AoEs back quicker. I would think about maybe putting Hasten is aswell (maybe for ES? If you're not concerned about ST damage).

  13. HoB got buffed a few weeks (maybe a month now?) ago in a patch, so it now grants a 10% def buff, as it is basically worse than FA and RoA, *and* it's a PBAoE.

  15. So I had a look at your build and made a lot of change, hopefully you'll find what I did useful:

    1) I softcapped Smashing/Lethal/Fire/Cold/Energy Defence so you should be a lot more surivable. I figured you had a decent budget since you used Kinetic Combats in your build, but I didn't use purples or Hami-Os.

    2) Energy Protection is near useless, Midnight Grasp is a much better pick. It's good upfront damage now (after its buff), which you can never go wrong with on a Brute.

    3) You don't really need Dark Consumption to do damage, so I just put EA's in it for more recharge. I think you could consider dropping it if you find Energy Drain is doing enough to give you limitless end.

    4) Soul drain needs more recharge in it. Oblits are good.

    5) Gave you Energy Cloak for more defence, opening with Soul Drain should grab you enough aggro, and just use Taunt when you can.

    6) Netted you some more recharge (~55%) and took Hasten.

  16. Either combo will be fine solo, but I think Dark will probably be best suited. Fearsome Stare, Darkest Night, Tar Patch etc are all great solo & team tools.

    I would recommend looking at Silas' guide for advice on how to play either of those secondaries. (http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=196722)

    For Radiation Blast, I would recommend picking up your Tier 1 & 2 blasts, (at least for the lower levels) and probably 2 out of the 3 AoEs. Electron Haze could be useful solo but the KB will annoy teams when you're doing SFs. Aim and the Nuke are personal preference.

    EDIT: If you're not fixed on Rad as primary, Ice is good for the ST holds if you solo a lot, and Fire is great upfront damage which is always welcome on teams.

  18. I went with DP/MM, and while the redraw can sometimes be annoying, it can be minimized and is decent ST and AoE damage.

    I would probably put the Ragnas in CC instead of Ice Storm for the added recharge.

    And I would personally have more use for EE than Hibernate I reckon.
  21. So first off, I like your build, you've netted some good recharge and I like a lot of your slotting.

    However how set are you on the Ice Epic? For Controllers, I always find myself leaning towards the Stone Epic for the SL Defence, good ST attack (which few Controllers have), and a fast recharging AoE.

    I played around with your build, if you don't mind the ugliness of Rock Armor, so that you have more recharge, slightly more recovery, and 34% SL defence with CJ on. (But not Hover). I guess the only things you might miss are the worse enhancement values for Lightning Storm and the weaker Def Debuff from Freezing Rain (which personally I don't think matters too much.)

  22. This is a very rough build, and I'm sure there are better builds out there, however as no-one replied here are some general tips:

    1) Try to softcap to Melee/Ranged/AoE for good survivability.

    2) You don't need both the Wolf Spider and the Bane Spider Upgrade. The Bane one is just fine.

    3) I gave you a Ranged AoE for a change from the melee and for slotting some recharge into, though switching to the ST Blast is absolutely fine if that's your kind of thing.

    4) TT:M is your best team (and great solo!) buff, so slot it well

    5) If I'm right, I think all three positional defences are capped with Cloaking Device, though I could well be wrong. Either way you'll have a hard time dying

    6) I went for recharge aswell on top of the defence, and some recovery/max HP.

    7) I didn't think you'd need Wide Area Web Grenade, as it causes redraw (iirc). If you really want an AoE mob, Web Envelope from the patron would go better for the mace.

  23. Hi everyone, I was hoping I could have some help with my DP/Kin as I'm mainly having some slotting issues:

    I would like to stay at the Smashing/Lethal softcap and keep Leadership (for Veng) so if anyone has any other way of achieving the def cap through some better/alternate slotting that would be great.

    Basically I'd like to see if I'm missing anything obvious that is going to allow me to achieve the SL softcap without some odd slotting. (Note: Siphon Speed)
