So I've always been a bigger blueside player than red. Defenders have always been my favorite archetype. Corruptors seem like the obvious choice for someone who is running out of defenders to roll. What are some good combos for a guy who likes to tankfend with a d3, rad/sonic, and an emp/rad. Does pain dom on corrs stack up to the tanking ability of an emp defender? Does fire/rad do that much more damage than a rad/sonic? Any experienced corrs out there wanna weigh in?

Pain Domination isn't even in the same boat as Empathy, unfortunately. A Fire/Rad Corruptor will be nasty - you won't be able to put out the single-target damage a Rad/Son Defender would, but Fire's got huge AoE potential.

Is there a good tankcorr combo out there that has slipped under my radar?

My Fire/Dark corruptor is one of the most robust characters I have, even including tankers and brutes. Running solo at +0/x8 I once got ambushed by three waves of Longbow led by a Ballista and did not faceplant.

These days I feel that the only corr worth rolling over the defender version is fire blast. All the other sets I can just pair with /soul app and do much more upfront damage while being a better forcemultiplier. I don't like having to rely on scourge just to catch up and hopefully pass the defender version while also being quite a bit weaker at buff/debuff.

Yeah, it's called a "Fortunata."

Oh I wasn't aware you could take a fortunata redside . So what I gather from the replies is that I can't expect a corr to perform as well as a comparable defender..guess I'm going to have to try my hand at doms.

Corrs are great. I probably prefer them overall to Defenders since they pump out more overall damage with Scourge and even though the buff values are less I don't really find it noticeable when teamed.

@Fail (Used to be @Tux) and @Tuxedo Infinitus Defiant/Freedom/Champion

Not to sound snarky but that's kind of just reinforcing the difference between corrs and defs. I would just like to know if anyone knows a good combo other than like dark/dark that fits my playstyle.

My fire/cold corr can solo +2/8 and handles bosses quite nicely. I also have a fire/therm corr that can handle nearly that. I have seen fire/kin corrs that can tank as well as a....well tank. Over all out of all of my corrs the fire/cold is my favorite simply beacause I xan solo or team with it and never have to adjust my diff.

But just for reference the level 50 corrs I have are Angle Iron arch/ta, Koran Klaskos fire/therm, Cherri Chinook ice/kin, Darrad Von Malikite rad/rad, Soniferous Malikite son/kin, Herr Herschaft fire/cold, Frau Herrschaft ice/cold, Kradnik dark/kin, Mr Mediocrity dark/dark, and Chronic Sentinal elec/pain. I also have a fire/rad corr at lvl 39 that brings good heat for the level it is currently at.

I am a big fan of the fire/dark combo for Corranker (Corr+Tanker). Darkest Night + Tar Patch + RoF + Fire Ball + Fire Breath is a nice starter combo.

and pretty much an ending combo for about any group you will run into

I like my fire/cold, my fire/traps and my fire/rad corrs.

If you want a corruptor and you want it to be awesome I suggest picking fire blast.

If you want a strong tankcorr I'd suggest fire/traps. The same build that can easily solo AV's can also easily take out +2/x8.

Even when defs get fireblast the triple damage that rain of fire does when it scourges is just amazing and is enough to probably keep my vote for corruptor fire combos.

Fire/Rad Corr is significantly better than Rad/Sonic Def in ST damage too.

I dont think I will ever roll a defender again once GR comes out.

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

I think I might role more defenders once GR comes out. The idea of an Empathy on the Red side makes me happy.

I like to use my sonic/storm for "tanking." Since hurricane keeps them out of melee range for the most part, I only had to build for ranged defense. Made the build cheap and allowed me to still focus somewhat heavily on recovery and recharge, the two main things a stormy needs.

I was teamed with a fire/storm last night on my fire/dark and we did awesome. All the drops storms do well. Basically what makes fire/cold good is sleet+rof, with storm you get it at 16 instead of 35. But the other debuffs from cold are pretty awesome but are only single target excluding heatloss.
