Cheers plainguy, but I stated I want to keep Veng, and I can't really see how Suppressive Fire is going to be useful for my playstyle.

Well, this is my DP/Kin build that I am reasonably happy with. Softcapped S/L, but less global recharge than you have. The problem is, without dipping into the fighting pool, going a little off on the slotting to achieve those levels of defense is pretty much required, especially for primary/secondary sets with no native defense.
PS, not recommending this as a better build to yours, just so that you might have a chance to compare. As you can see I also ended up slotting just for the defense on siphon speed, among other things.

Thanks for that build Inspid, some interesting ideas in it. Were you slotting the Devastations for the Health Bonus, because they can be swapped out for Deci's to give pretty much as good a recharge as my build. Guassian's can also be swapped out for Rectified Reticles which give better SL Def for less slots.
Oh, and if you give it one more slot I like Five Doctored Wounds and an Acc in Transfusion for the rech.

Well I actually slotted the Devastation primarily for the psi defense. I know 20% defense isn't gonna do anything amazing, but against Rikti or whatever, getting nailed with a mez usually means game over.
The Gaussian's... mainly seemed like a good idea at the time. Maybe I'll think of removing them if I ever spec into purples or whatever GR brings.
On the topic of Web Cocoon, I eventually dropped Suppressive Fire for it, just for the fact that Sup. Fire is annoying to slot if you swap in and out of ammo. The slotting was mainly a compromise to get the defense.
If your after recharge, why wouldnt you have suppressive? 4 slots of basilisk gaze for recharge, 2 slots for flavor... I slotted 2 chance for holds... a most useful tool.

Hi everyone, I was hoping I could have some help with my DP/Kin as I'm mainly having some slotting issues:
I would like to stay at the Smashing/Lethal softcap and keep Leadership (for Veng) so if anyone has any other way of achieving the def cap through some better/alternate slotting that would be great.
Basically I'd like to see if I'm missing anything obvious that is going to allow me to achieve the SL softcap without some odd slotting. (Note: Siphon Speed)
Oh, and just to say I have the funds for the build, but no Glad Armor Def proc please
