My DP/Fire's build is a mess. Please help.
How willing are you to bend on these power picks?
I'm playing with the slotting, and I can't figure how to soft cap any defenses. The other problem I'm seeing is you have 2 cones and a bunch of PBAoE. I think it'd be better to drop Empty Clips and Piercing Rounds and pick up Blazing Aura and Consume.
Another thing to consider is to replace your APP with Ice, and you might have a shot at soft capping Smashing/Lethal defense.

Well, in retrospect as to my build, I've seen worse on the forums, but I'm pretty much going for an A.O.E machine which is why I picked all the A.O.E./cone powers.
I wouldn't mind seeing what the build would look like with Empty Clips and Piercing Rounds taken out and the two fire melee powers added in.
I'm kinda set with taking Fire Mastery because I want to see what it's like to have Rise Of The Phoenix. I would be interested to see what Ice or Electric Mastery would look like though.
Mind giving me a Mids run down with a data chunk to load into my copy of Mids?
Thank you for the help by the way. The A.T.'s all play and slot so differently that it's hard to get a handle on a build unless I've played it for awhile, and frankly, I don't have as much time to invest in this game as I once had to figure out how to slot new power sets I haven't played before.
And please, please, please, go easy on the purples. I can manage to get about 1 to 1.5 billion together for a build, but any more than that is going to take way too much time to earn... Unless you feel like donating to a hero in need?
Like Gilia said, I highly recommend considering the Ice Epic to softcap Smashing/Lethal defence. However, I understand if you want to stick with Fire for RotP
So I had a go at your build, only thing I did power choices wise was swap Burn for Maneuvers. I think you'll be fine personally hopping in and out of mobs to line up Empty Clips.
For the build, I got you 34% Melee defence so you can pop a purple to softcap, and 21% ranged which isn't great but should be noticeable. The build has 65% recharge which should be good for getting HoB and all your AoEs back quicker. I would think about maybe putting Hasten is aswell (maybe for ES? If you're not concerned about ST damage).

IMO if you want to stick with the dp/fire/fire concept and still hit softcap, you could try as a hover blaster, and then aim for softcapping ranged def as opposed to S/L.

Hey there, I'm new to using DP/Fire and I'm trying to make a build, but I know I'm gimping myself here. I'd like to try and keep the powers I have chosen, but as far as slotting's concerned, I'm pretty retarded. Need some help, and also, try to keep it within a 2 billion inf. build. If it goes over that amount please don't go over by too much.
I'm looking to go for A.O.E. damage, defense, and slows. I honestly am at a complete loss at how I should be proceeding to slot this guy. Again, please keep the attack powers I've chosen as that is the play style I prefer.
