Quote:Now you're making stuff up blatantly. Recharge cap in this game is +400%, a.k.a. 1/5 the normal recharge time.first off....you dont play an empath much at all...how do i know you ask...well....your statements...little things...like not knowing maximum recharge for adrenalin boost was 150 seconds no matter what you do
By frankenslotting for health/end mod/recharge, AB, by itself, is already down to 150 seconds. By adding in AB on yourself, you get to ~200% recharge, dropping it to 1/3 the time, or 100 seconds. Hasten provides 70%, getting you to 270% recharge, and putting hasten (assuming 3-slotted with recharge enhancements) to 121 and change seconds. From there, you can either add a fourth, or a couple small bonuses from sets (for example, Sting of the Manticore in a snipe, 5 slots, 7.5% recharge bonus, though more for a better buffer isn't a horrible idea) to get over +275% global recharge.
Now, unless City of Data has some slightly off info, RAs are 500 seconds recharge, 90 second duration, making them non-permable solo, however those are gravy on top of the already high powered boost from perma-AB/Hasten, perma-Fort, and the ability to heal for half your HP with Heal Other, whose downtime is negligible at this point.
Throw in Power Build Up for Fort, Maneuvers, and even weave (since you won't need AP or Ressurect, or possibly even Healing Aura), then some set bonuses to taste, and you're walking around with more defense than you need to softcap in incarnate content, mez protection, massive amounts of regen, endurance that doesn't run out even when you nuke (AB's +recov is far greater than a nuke's -recov), and being to-hit capped against everything in the game (except the occasional DE emanator drop or venged Nemmies).
This is all from real numbers and having played half an empath duo built around that concept, so don't try to say "you don't play empaths".
Quote:And thats the reason people need to be able to use their powers on themselves.....they need to be heroes...not always sidekicks...the game is about becoming more.....not becoming less.
(by the way look up the definition of sidekick...its interesting...its amazing people on this topic dont realize a support role technicaly means sidekick or lacky)
And who's to say there's anything wrong with wanting to play a support role, anyway? Some heroes don't like the limelight. Heck, Stargirl (from DC comics) is the stepdaughter of Stripesy, the adult side-kick to child hero Star-Spangled Kid. And when she took up the mask, he built a robo-suit named S.T.R.I.P.E. to be his own stepdaughter's sidekick. -
That is one of the best gifs I've ever seen.

Quote:With reference to the name@global scheme, I've played Cryptic's offering, and the first thing I noticed was when it was on, how much visual clutter it really is. And I don't believe they even have names as long as ours.Re: unique vs global names (blah@whatever), I haven't weighed in one way or another. For the record, the idea doesn't bother me all that much, as long as the only place it appears is in chat. Still, ask yourself: what would most people think while running around in game upon seeing another character with the same visible name? This, I think, is the rub most people have issue with, and short of appending the VISUAL names with an ugly @global suffix, there's no way around some people having that reaction.
Now, imagine if this went in, and you had (to use one of my characters), "an adorable little fox@ArcticFahx" showing up in the chat window.
On the flip side, when you have the @global turned off, it can get confusing when you have Captain Tanzania and Captain Tanzania discussing something.
The main reason I don't feel the devs would ever adopt such a system, though, is that they don't have it already. An old saying comes to mind, "better the devil you know than the one you don't". Basically, in this case, if people are complaining about the current naming system, but a roughly equal number of people would dislike the new suggestion put forward, it is better to do nothing. -
ANOTHER bloody "weak to psionics" armor set? Why can't we have one that's weak to something else that's not flooding the endgame already?

Quote:It's definitely the second-highest melee modifier, only behind scrappers, and tied with VEATs (at 1.0). The ranged modifier is 1.125 (1 1/8 for those who like bad fractions like that), which is the same as a scrapper's melee modifier.Eh, blasters have the highest ranged modifier, and the second (or is it third?) highest melee modifier, which means even the lower DPA melee attacks, still hit like a mack truck, and you can't just spam 1 attack all day long, or else you'll be waiting on recharge times.
Blasters are better in teams with support to back them up, but a full fledged */* blasters (yes even including /dev and ar/ and DP/) can still back a decent amount of damage, and make most things melt pretty quickly.
Blasters also have the highest average number of AoE (their blasts having a minimal of 3, and the secondaries offering atlest 1, even in the form of a pbaoe toggle) -

And yet his hatedom will find something to despise about him.
Which I don't get. Having a married couple as companions is a nice change of pace. And the dynamic between Rory and Amy is dead on. Especially for a relationship between a very fierce Scotswoman and, well, anyone.
Not to mention he's clearly the most perceptive of the three (ref: Eleventh Hour, Amy's Choice). Must be where River/Melody got it from. -
Quote:Actually, he's still got 2 more hours, as woot.com is based out of Texas, and they key off local time for their day switchovers. If you're don't mind settling for a refurbished computer, you may consider keeping an eye out on http://www.woot.com/ .
NOTE: Woot!'s gimmick is that they only sell 1 (one) item a day accompanied with a pretty funny (usually) write up. Sometimes the item is new, sometimes it's refurbished. Maybe once a month, they might clear out their warehouse and spend the day selling off a series of limited quantity items. Woot! was bought by Amazon last year, if that'll give it better rep in your eyes. Anyway, their stuff usually is very cheap.
Today (06/11) they actually had a refurbished HP desktop on sale. There's only 1.25 hours left today, so I won't go into detail about it. -
Quote:I do not find myself opposing this idea. Now who else want's to see the continuing adventures of the Silurian and her maid in the 1800's.
Also, the River/Pond thing was pretty good. And definitely a good reason for River's very different reactions to Amy than to Donna. -
Quote:The Master was also cremated after his death in The Sound of Drums.the problem with that, over the years, how many times has the Doctor been captured, I would suspect bio-data or blood samples of the Doctor while rare and hard to come by, is out there. I rather suspect it was a Ganger Doctor( either the one we saw, or a remote control deal) hence why the idea to burn the body. The other alternative, that wasn't gasoline, Rory, Amy and River just assumed it was, it could've been something else.

Quote:Actually, no it wouldn't. Because there is no way for the game to ignore protection magnitude. If we're adding things to Force Bolt, I got a nasty idea.
Knockback mag 0.3
Unresistible, unaffected by buffs and debuffs.
Recharge increased to 15 seconds
With that, anything in the game will be knocked down by Force Bolt. Minion, AV, giant monster, anything. Even if it's supposed to be knockback immune. And since the magnitude is so low, it becomes knockdown on the target, unless it's vastly lower level than you. Of course, the resistible knockback we aready have will stay, Force Bolt is a great positioning tool as it is. -

Because people, in general, are horrible judges of random. Think about people playing tabletop games. You crit once, and you think that die is lucky, or you fumble once, and you won't put that die back in the pile lest it curse the others.
Basically, people are assuming that because they got the uncommon reward table a few times in a row, there's something besides the random chance going on. Never mind that they got a rare component dropped during the trial, which I believe are on the same random chances as the end of trial reward. -
Enhancement Diversification is based on the total enhancement percentage, so it would still kick in.

Quote:Just because you have that much recharge doesn't mean everyone else does. And if the devs made Fortitude a TAoE like the buffs that are getting that, then it would be nerfed, because Fortitude is balanced around the idea that it won't normally be on the entire team (massive recharge being a noticeable edge case). No, my emp has to apply one buff every 16 seconds. If you want to compare QoL, I would gladly trade that for running down the list once every 2 minutes, since on an 8 man team, I'm keeping it up on the same 7 people as the other buffers are, but with much more hassle and redraw.

These changes make my main (Grav/FF/Primal controller, yes, with Power Boost) extremely happy, and the various kins I've abandoned due to Altaholism seem far more tempting.
I also bet that after launch I'll still go down the list a few times with bubbles before I realize it. Mostly because of playing him so long that 1, /, *, 2, /, * (that's my bind setup, numbers are on the numpad) has nearly become muscle memory. -
I would love it if the Mids people were to make a builder for non-Windows/Mac OSes, or, heck, if Paragon were to make one. Ideally, it'd be free, though I would probably be willing to pay a buck for it on Android (I'm planning on picking up a EEE Pad Transformer to bring to classes, rather than lugging my angular brick of a gaming laptop).
For best coverage, it'd want to cover Blackberry, iOS, Android (2 and 3), and Windows Mobile, since I believe those are the only 4 smart phone OSes left (is PalmOS still around?). -
I have to nitpick here and remind you that it was explicitly stated multiple times in the series that it was vital to cremate deceased Time Lords, on a pyre so they are truly immolated, because even a single substantial bit of them could conceivably make some very horrible people very powerful. Imagine the Daleks managing to add Gallifreyan regeneration to themselves, as just a small example.

Quote:Sensei would be the proper spelling (italicizing isn't for smarmy emphasis, it's because stylistically, foreign words are supposed to be italicized, unless they've been adopted into the language (which sensei has not).Ninja .. The MM is the Sensae (Sorry not sure how that's spelled ) and the ninjas are his loyal students helping to rid the city of the criminal element.
Quote:Thugs .. Okay this one may be the biggest stretch but still very doable. The MM and minions grew up on the streets at at some point may have even been part of a gang. Later in life they reformed and now use the abilities they possess and the skills they learned on the streets to battle criminals and clean up the city. -
Quote:It's an Astral, not Empyrean.Well, when i20.5 hits, you'll beable to obtain more EMerits a day. Like 4-8 a day (I'm not quite sure if you only get one EMerit every 20 hours for joining an open League Trial).

This cannot be emphasized enough. I personally never leave the team until the contact has been talked to again, and I believe that other WSTs do this.

This would be better posted in Tech Issues & Bugs, as that's where most of the forum's techheads hang out, but I'll do some quick troubleshooting questions.
1) Are you clicking or double-clicking? Is it a desktop shortcut, start menu shortcut, or Quick Launch/Dock shortcut? Windows or Mac?
2) Check the target for the shortcut.
3) Try launching it from its actual location, rather than a shortcut.
4) What sort of "defensive" software are you running (Firewall/AV/Anti-Spyware/Pre-emptive sorts), and check the control panels for those. -
Quote:Or even better, how do we know Prometheus isn't simply wrong. Or maybe he's mistaken?Or, tl;dr: What makes you think he's a trustworthy source? His say-so?
Remember, Prometheus is a Greek Titan, and the Titans were small-g gods. And small-g gods are generally not omniscient. -
Quote:Rikti (and some Lost) Lts and Bosses, Carnie Illusionists and MIs, the original version of Mother Mayhems minions. Some of the new Praetorian seers, and Psychic Clockwork, off the top of my head. Not all that damaging, but a lot more common than you think.Unless I'm sorely mistaken, the only non-positional powers in the game exist in Mind Control and Illusion, both of which are relatively rare to see in the hands of an enemy. Plus only two of those non-positional powers are outright attacks. The rest are all various mezzes.
