The Threat formula works just fine. The problem is that people don't understand it.
Threat = Damage * AI Mod * Range Mod * AT Mod * Debuff Mod * (1000 * TauntDurationRemaining).
As such, if you are Taunting at Range, and depending on the AI Mod the target has, and the resistance to Taunt that it might have, then very high damage levels can override just Taunt.
Throwing in an attack, even a ranged one, every now and then can help you to keep aggro on targets like Hami.
Having said that the op is talking about hami who probably isn't susceptible to gauntlet anyway. -

Yes it's lag and you'd better get used to it. There will probably be a lot more of it for a while as the devs muck with the servers for i17 and GR.

Gauntlet is broken. I think Castle posted numbers some time ago that showed how much aggro damage and debuffs do and it is completely unbalanced with gauntlet. I don't think the situation was ever resolved.

I tried Thermal and I had a real hard time babysitting them. I was trying to use the tactics that worked on my Thugs which was to let them shoot everything up and hang back and buff. This does not work too well with demons (pre-SO's) because they like melee too much. I think the best way to use DS is with BG Mode as much as possible and the best secondary for that imho is /Dark because of the slows and debuffs. Also the -res from Tarpatch will stack very well with all the other -res.

Lash is best because it does more damage and has a shorter activation time (after you run into melee).

It's not the new thugs cause it's not as easy mode as thugs. Demons rush in and you have shorter range attacks so you have to be more careful. I still prefer thugs cause I'm lazy but I reckon I'll be taking 1 or 2 demons to 50.
(I should point out that I have a 50thug/dark and a 50thug/storm and also a 35thug/poison). -
No need to wait for live leave it on at night or try again in a couple of days it should speed up again.

Remember gang it is the test servers which are not as beefy as the real servers.

All the above is normal random spawn location behaviour. Unfortunately sometimes the hero in the mayhem gets caught up and you have to go look for it and it can lead to fail.
