  1. Yeah I had assumed that the temp that drop was based on your choice, to sync up with the effects of your actions, as in, delivering it correctly causes romance, misdelivering it causes jealousy. Definitely not the case, since a number of romantic endings gave me arrows of jealousy >>
  2. And now that I've nabbed both badges, I think I can drop a bit of feedback.

I really like the concept of the tips, the valentines are all pretty well done and funny or sweet, etc.

I can certainly sympathize with some of the complaints about having tips that are pretty clearly meant for a single alignment, or the ones that offer a choice of a hero contact or a villain contact. Mostly because a number of times I ran into choices that I just did not know where they were before accepting to take it to them, so it was a bit disheartening to pick a choice and see 'Grandville' for example pop up, so I'd have to dismiss the contact.

I think for the future, anything like this just needs to point out where the contact is located -before- you accept the mission. Just add into the write up for when you pick the choice but haven't confirmed it, like "But it would be fun to misdeliver it to Johnny Sonata in St. Martial" or "You can take it to Positron in Steel Canyon" or "Hopefully you can find transit to track down Lady Jane" etc, to indicate whether they're in a zone or in an instance. It won't really stop the villain tip for a hero and vice versa problem, but it would at least let you do the tips that involve a split faction choice and not end up picking an undeliverable choice.
  3. Now I'm curious what Nightstar's response is

    Botched ritual?

Yeah that seems excessive, especially for a part where you're implored to improvise ;p

The base portal -entrance-. You don't leave that way unless you entered it from there. Using a base teleporter with the Peregrine beacon dumps you by Crimson. Just like Long Range Teleport skill dumps you near the Ferry, as does the Ouro portal.

On the plus side, at least it makes Glacia -very- accessible.

As far as we know, it isn't a bug, but working as intended. Rogues/Vigilantes have the most flexibility this event.

If you get a valentines tip that leads somewhere you can't go, you're meant to just abandon the contact. It should be an option when you open it up for the info.

In summary, Jessica Duncan's arc is the lowest point in my enjoyment of CoH writing at least since AE was introduced. Even the writing in the Trials has never been bad enough that I wanted to complain on the forums about it.
I think you meant to use the word 'empathize', not 'emphasize', they mean entirely different things >>

And as it stands. I kind of have to agree, it really seems like whoever is directing the writing team leans more toward redside. The SSAs are typically slanted in Red's favor, this is, First Ward is kind of dubious.

My guess is mostly time constraints, but it is a bit disappointing that when given an opportunity like this to show both sides of a story, we just get the same story with slight changes.

    New Dredd images

yeah that first shot gives the helmet a 'Special Needs' look. But the 2nd shot isn't so bad. Maybe we'll have to see it in motion.

  12. haha, again with the big tiger. Not that I'm complaining, but someone in marketing or the graphic department must really like him.

And, ya, toss in my vote that I don't see why this is time locked. If anything, I can see the -deal- being limited time given how big a discount we're getting on the full bundle, but I don't see a good reason to keep these costume bits on such a limited time gate. We've already got the roman pieces on a limited timer already. It just seems like a cheap marketing ploy "quick quick, you have to spend before they all go away".

That said, I am tempted to pick it up, it's nice to have some normal pants.

Wade's arc needs to be rewritten... unless is already has... anyone with a level 20-29 Villain wanna go Hero and back and then take Wades arc and see what happens?
They're -probably- going to change Wade's arc in i23 when all the changes from the SSA take place.
  14. because you need to be a member -and- have the password. Any random guy, -especially- in the Rogue Isles is not going to be trusted if they just walk up and say the password. The midnighters are a secretive group, they're very aware of who is a member and who is not, with good reason.
  15. Isn't Praetoria currently only available to VIP players and folks that purchase it? There's the biggest problem. Let freebies start there and you'll see at least a slight uptick. Honestly I think praetoria has a better tutorial than anything else in the game atm, you can totally skip it or let it guide you along and teach you all the basics you need in about 5-10 minutes rather than the overly long mega-arc tutorials and the 5 minute 'dump you into it and kick you to the curb' method in Galaxy City.

As it is, Praetoria stands as a monument to what the game could have been (but probably never will be), making the world a more natural feeling city and tying story arcs together much more closely.

Though, even so, as others have pointed out, Praetoria is really a lot of smoke and mirrors. Everything looks pretty neat and -seems- like it's important, but in the end none of it really means or affects anything of importance. Your actions don't mean anything in general, like playing a spy into the other faction, it's all just flufftext. One of the only decisions you can make that has some modicum of impact is killing or sparing Cleopatra. Which again, doesn't affect anything in the long run, it's just whether or not she's standing there doing nothing or phases out. It's all just dropped and ignored when you move into Primal Earth or skip into First Ward.

Honestly I can kind of see the logic. Really, they just can't produce more content that's Praetorian exclusive. It's a waste of resources putting out any story arcs that -only- Praetorians can run because they compose such a minor, niche portion of the population. It's still a shame, the run through Praetoria is pretty fun and such a different experience to the standard 1-30. I'm sure there'll be more Praetorian stuff, but I really don't foresee them making anything more that's Praetorian -only-. It would be kind of nice if they used the badge trick to offer some distinction to Praetorian characters running around in Prime Earth.

I'm not really sure what you could do to Praetoria to make it more popular though. It doesn't offer anything unique except fluff, which is only worthwhile for so long.

Actually, something I'd like to see is 'updating' Praetoria eventually where we can explore the Praetorian city zones in the 'present time' where the place is ruined and devastated once Cole is ousted and the Devouring Earth inevitably wreck up the place.

Also, tangent, but I -really really- want a Praetorian Devouring Earth Zone. The Underground has some awesome art assets showing what the Praetorian Hamidon can do with all the neat little freaky fungi and geigeresque architecture. I'd -love- to have a whole topside forest like that.

Anyway. Not really sure what could be done. Open it up to Freems for one. But otherwise... I really don't have a clue. It seems like it was an experiment intended to have potential and then the plans had to be subsequently abandoned.
  16. There've been a lot of hooks and clues pointing to Rularuu being extra important in recent content so it would not be a surprise if something is done with the Shadow Shard in an upcoming issue

Omg yes, perfect <3 I mean, we'd have to see it in action, I don't think the pic does it justice (it certainly doesn't with Hami) But yea, that's pretty much all they'd have to use. Maybe tweak the colors a bit.

Yes. He'll infect your friends and family and turn them towards returning the planet to its great natural form.
  19. Or what about the Vincent Ross arc where if you work with someone through they join you at the end, they just used a radio clicky to summon them.
  20. When you unlock the patron pool you'll be given a Respec. when you choose a power from the patron pool all the others, including the ancillary pools, will be locked out.
  21. radio missions + safeguard, you'll get introduced to him eventually, all the peregrine folks bunch up pretty fast

It isn't much different from the forums. Just check the suggestion forum or any of the feedback threads. People have little concept of what kind of resources are involved in doing anything they see as 'simple'.
  24. Title pretty much says it all. I just want a wee boot high hamidon blob with it's own lil bright nucleus that oozes around following me.

or a mini-Avatar. That model needs to be used more too.
