Quote:YesNo, they are not. The biggest part is people 1-starring other people's arcs out of spite, or to push them off the front page, or because somebody said something mean to them on the forums and that's their virtual equivalent of TPing your house when they don't have a snappy comeback ready. Farmers don't play our arcs. Any farmer who starts an arc with "Knives of Artemis" in the description hoping for quick XP is an idiot.
All that really needs to happen to put a stop to the 1-star bombing is to disallow the rating of arcs you haven't completed. Ideally, all previous ratings from players who haven't completed the arc would be wiped. Remember when all the 0-star ratings were wiped? We suddenly got a rash of 4-star arcs jumping up to 5 stars. You would think the devs would have learned a lesson from that. But they didn't, they never will because there's a new shiny over there, and the rating system will remain completely useless. -
He was butthurt by someone looking for a farm so decided to bend over every farmer he could (til he got bored).
Pretending that it had something to do with improving the rating system (which is bad) is just pathetic. -
Quote:Because beast legs can't wear the new boots?Paragon Studios, I am disappoint. :|
Also, Minotaur character shown without using the cool minotaur leg option we have? Really?
Understandable, I guess. How do you make a boot/shoe for a heel that's halfway up your leg? Maybe I don't know how because nobody has ever TRIED it. hehe
What I'd dearly love to see is a Fur option for bottoms that is NOT monstrous. -

The day I bought CoH I also bought another game: Mech Commander 2.
Through pure chance I installed CoH first and started playing. Interestingly, I was dismayed that I was unable to find a "single player" option and that I was forced to play in an environment fully populated with all these STRANGERS.
I solo'd exclusively for at least a month, made one or two "acquaintances" and played a little on duo teams but never joined a SG or even a PU team. Before long all servers were completely full of sub-level 12 toons and I started deleting some to make room for other low-level toons because I found soloing past level 12 to be just tedious and unfun.
Around this time I found myself playing on my level 7 Empath Offender and started getting tells from someone I had never met BEGGING me to help a team in Perez Park. I explained that I only soloed and that my Empath was not spec'd for team play. After more begging and pleading I relented and started sprinting towards Perez and consequently to the other side of the zone. I arrived just in time to witness the team wipe, which was dismaying. What really bothered me was the blame that was heaped upon me by the players of the dead characters. Here I was with just Healing Aura and the other team members were spread over a large area, dead. Like I said, I soloed and did not have Resurrect or even Heal Other. The abuse that I suffered from those two soured me to teaming even more.
About 6 months into the game, just as I was thinking of finally opening Mech Commander, I happened upon a costume contest on Champion. Ironically, it was on a toon that was a duplicate of the Empath that I had already deleted out of disgust. While standing around for the contest and afterward I met a level 31 toon named "Golden Pyro". We talked and she invited me to her SG, "Paragon's Golden Heros (sic)". From that point on I made the effort to ask into SG teams whenever I saw them. Pyro and her friend "Tokyo Dropout" ran together most every day and I tagged along whenever I could.
At some point I expressed dissatisfaction with my performance as a Defender (no ****, I was still thinking like an Offender). Tok (Tokyo Dropout) said to me "Well, maybe you're just not cut out to be a Defender." To me, this was a galvanizing observation. If I was going to be a Defender then dammit I was going to be a GOOD one. As soon as I got to level 24 I headed straight to IP and joined a PU Respec Trial which we succeeded at gloriously. I immediately respecc'd into a DEFENDING Empath and from that point PRIDED myself in my abilities as a Defender.
Golden Pyro, Tokyo Dropout, The Sampler, a few others and myself rode the train all the way to the end of the line with Pyro and Ainu (my Emp) dinging 50 one day apart.
How close I was to playing Mech Commander for a month and then moving on to something else... -
So often, we want movies or TV to be just like the book we know and love, but it never is.
Should we remake movies in the exact image of the original? To what point? Okay, we like the premise of a movie but it has already been told to a conclusion. Do we keep ADDING to the timeline? How far in the future do we have to go before its no longer even related to the original story?
Books? We love our books, and for good reason. Books can tell an intricate story with multiple WELL-fleshed characters the way no other media can or ever will. Well, TV maybe COULD but ratings and network dollars being as tenuous as they are, no TV series can AFFORD to develop as fully as books.
The only way for a "remake/reboot/revisioning" or for a 90 minute telling of a story that took 500-2000 pages of print to "succeed" is to make it just as good as you possibly can and hope that enough people are willing to join you in the experience of your story based on its merits. Too often we judge that which is new against the old when we could ENJOY the new for what it IS and what it DOES offer.
As for "Rise", I have not yet had the pleasure of experiencing it. I will be seeing it and I will watch it in its own context, enjoying it for its own sake.
~ As an aside, I think that viewing chimps sympathetically, as the victim is a bit overdone. Especially as we learn more about what they are "really" like. The oppressed should always have our sympathy but it will(?) be based much less on the "cuteness" factor. On the other hand, are they (will they be) "Ramen", "Varelse", or "Djur"? -
"Nothing left to lose".
Good enough for me (and Bobby McGee). -
AE already served its intended purpose. It was a new shiny to entice more players to buy the game.
Fixing the filter won't increase sales so as long as it keeps the lawsuits away it will not be fixed. -
Quote:qftpeople have a really eff'd up perspective.
Now:
You stop paying them money each month, you lose access to your incarnate powers, mastermind and...oh...everything. Because they cut you off from the server. You can have paid all you want for going rogue. You don't pay the monthly sub, you don't get to use it. All those costume boosters you paid for? Worthless without the game.
Future:
You stop paying them money each month you lose access to your incarnate powers, mastermind and some other things...but you get to keep access to a bunch of other stuff, including the servers.
As opposed to now where you retain access to nothing if you stop paying.
Having access to some things while not paying is better than having access to nothing while not paying. Period.

Quote:Even more so that the OP did not directly respond to you until your 5th post aside from stating that he did not believe that you understood what he was saying and that was directed toward more than just you.My first post in the thread was anything but personal. I even related that I had made a similar mistake (in the vendor window that doesn't even give you a prompt), and claimed that only I was responsible for that mistake.
It was the OP being offended that we weren't readily jumping on board with the suggestion. And when someone suggested he just pay better attention, his only sentiment was that he shouldn't have to pay attention. Now, your terms for laziness may be different than mine, but if you can't bother to pay attention, you're lazy.
Ironically enough, the OP can't take the time to look at the color of recipe in the window he's deleting from, but he can be bothered to respond every time someone disagrees with him on an idea meant to buy him more time (in seconds) that will never be implemented. -
Quote:Concur.I don't know whether this specific suggestion is necessary but a cleaned up UI would not be a bad thing. I think calling the OP lazy and stupid is really overstepping. I'll never understand how people get so personally offended by the suggestions forum.
And you know, this thread has reminded me why I keep my mouth shut so much of the time in this forum. Some people simply must be superior to the "lazy and stupid" people in the community. I'm not even involved in the discussion and I'm offended by the tone of some of the posts. Makes me wonder why I gave up ignoring posters years ago. -
I won't move unless they give me a much better tool with which to rebuild my bases.

What gripes me the most for Premium accounts is the loss of 10 character slots on one server and ALL of them on the rest.
However, if you had no intention of stopping payment, VIP accounts is pure win.
Even if you DO quit paying and downgrade to Premium its still loads better than NOT HAVING AN ACTIVE ACCOUNT, which is how it is currently.
oops... mental capslock off. -
And people couldn't understand why a month ago I said that I felt the Incarnate Trials were subverting SGs.
-
Apparently about $30.00US, so far.

Do I understand correctly that they use a 3rd-party filter program to police their copyright liability? Lazy. That's like trusting "spell check" on a scientific paper.
If not, they went to an AWFUL lot of effort to make it this bad. -
Quote:But curiously, his cloaking device ignores the LEGS...This is my Crab/Bane, Agent Nobody. His Cloaking Device allows him to bend light and create any disguise he wants.
Here is Nobody without his disguises. I was going for a look similar to the scorpinoids.
Here he is as a Longbow.
Here is is as a Wolf Spider. Ha! Get it?
And here his device is on the fritz...

Quote:Hi DangerWoman,No offense, but is it possible you're getting kicked from leagues because your RPing is disrupting gameplay?
I imagine that losing one's memories would be a terrible thing. This having been said, would it be possible to choose a member of your team, keep them always selected, stay as close to them as possible (without putting yourself in undue danger) and just try to contribute in whatever way you can? Think of it as a temporary "Living Assistance Dog".
Good luck in your endeavors. -
I went ******* on them after the LAST patch that took Global down. To my chagrin it was such a well-known issue that I felt like an idiot for petitioning it. When your Friends come back, your email should too.
But good advice for everyone to check their stuffz. -
Quote:Pfft.
Just implement a new currency. That'll solve everything.
And if one doesn't do the trick, make more. You can never have too many, you know.
This is how it works, is it not?
What you really mean to say, Marcian (PLEASE forgive my presumption, as it is theoretical) is "Please Hammer (players) don't hurt 'em (Devs) while I'm gone."(?) -
Traps. Or if you want something that's "almost" as good but faster moving, Trick Arrow. Rad secondary is also excellent.
