I've never done the STF.
If y'all can stand guiding a newb thru it, I can bring either Maurya (lvl 50 energy/electric/electric blaster) or Isotope 167 (level 48 rad/dark/dark defender). I bow to the wisdom of the team which I should bring.
I've never gotten Shivans before either, but I can do that this week since it seems it would be helpful. I may have a War Wolf Whistle and/or a Snowbeast laying around somewhere as well.
Team 1 please. -
Quote:A lot of the SFs I'm in people actually ASK for the mobs to be set to CL3 (which is +1 level now).
Why can't they just let things be, find a real fix, then delete the master badges from the people that did it since i16?
Pardon my ignorance - but are you basically stating that EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER who has completed a Master run since the release of I16 deliberately did that run at -1? That NOBODY did a master run at +1 or even at 0 adjustments?
Wouldn't taking away their badges be a tad but unjust?
Just deal with it unless/until it becomes obvious whether this is temporary or not. Histrionics on the forums can be amusing, but don't go overboard. -
Quote:Don't forget your towel, Forb.Damnit I hate doing math. Let's see . . . 77, 87, 97, 2007, 2008, 2009 . . . carry the 1 . . . divide it by the square root of the bicentennial . . . ask Deep Thought to double check my numbers . . .
I'm the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Nice to see so many people owning up to being in their 40s, which is where I am myself. -

I try to *always* quote when I am directly replying to someone specifically on these new forums. On the old forums, you could tell (mostly) who was being replied to because of the "Re:" line, but now we lost that hint.
Sometimes, I'm a slow poster, and on particularly active threads, it may be several posts later when mine appears. By quoting, it's clear what I am talking about in my post. -
What Kitsune said - ask a friend to help you.
If you don't have anyone on at a time that is convenient to you - head over to the Base Construction forum or your server forum and ask someone to help you invite alts to the SG.
Here is what you do:
Have a second person log on an alt not in a SG or perhaps make one just for the occasion.
Invite that character to the SG and promote them to the level you will want your other character to be (not that big a deal if your SG stays just your characters, but if you later invite others you may want to have your guys be higher rank than the newbies).
Log on with second (& third & fourth & etc.) character and have the friend invite you to the SG & promote as desired.
Then friend either quits the SG or you kick them.
I have done this for a few other players and if you need me to do it for you, just send me a PM of when & where. -
Quote:No, you are right - it was not adjusted to account for IOs - and it SHOULD NOT BE ADJUSTED for IOs - which are an optional system.I feel the same way as the OP sometimes. I play with folks who steamroll through SFs on relentless and make near record times.
The game hasn't been adjusted for the benefits of IO's, I guess.
I am building a serious challenge AE.
I will post the number here when I finish.
The game is balanced around characters with normal DOs & SOs.
There weer lots of tips on how to increase challenges offered throughout this thread - try some of those. -

Quote:It would be extremely unlikely that Blasters would get a secondary that offers much defense or damage resistance. That's *not* what Blasters do - their defense is to kill it quick before it hurts you. Blaster secondaries are about more damage and a bit of soft control. Why not a secondary for blasters that is different. One that has melee, but also maybe has some defence or damage resistance available. A mixed bag really. It gives another option for blasters, and heck, that could go across all of them really, except scrappers and tanks.

Quote:Ouro portal is under the Control Items tab in the editor. You could use it to access the flashbacks without going to the Ouro zone.I think I've got all that, except the Ouro pillar since I don't know where to get it or what I'd use it for. Stuffed in all three levels of empowerment stations for both tech and arcane, two ley taps because I couldn't figure out why I'd need the megajumbo power thing and it was 5m, the works.
I'm red side, so there's no need for extra porters - the 8 I have now take me everywhere I can go. Raids.. well, I built this to be a raiding guild, but that didn't exactly turn out the way it was advertised.
Looks like I'm turning off prestige generation. There's nothing useful for me to do with the stuff if I get it.
I agree that all the "useful" things can be on a relatively small plot. That just leaves lots of room to decorate. That's something that may or may not float your boat - it's not for everyone. -
Not really that much of an "ugh".
Niv is really fast on these (or she was when that post about how to do it first came out). She took the "underscore" out of my name is just a few minutes.
BTW, you may be able to get "Battlebabe" back unless the EU person beat you to it. -
Quote:Awesome, as always, Michelle!"No Limits", my Issue 16 trailer, is now available on YouTube, and my website's Video page.
Enjoy.
However, due to funding restrictions, punch and pie are not available at this time.

Quote:My main on Everquest 2 is a small, cute, gnome druid who is female. I have an extremely deep definitely male voice (I can do a passable Darth Vader). I do not speak over voice chat ever. It's even jarring for me!Quote:Damn it, man! Now I want to hear you speak
Speaking of which, listening to recordings of my own voice speaking English, I have to say I sound almost exactly like the most stereotypical Russian guy in movies you can imagine, but with proper grammar and sentence structure.Quote:me to,but while suffering an asthma attack so we can see how strong the Vader resemblance is.
I absolutely hate listening to my own voice. I have a soft Southern female voice (which is a good thing since I grew up in WV and I'm female) that others sometimes have trouble hearing - I'm often asked to "speak up". Except I also tend to pick up the accents of others by osmosis - so I would probably start to sound Russian in our conversations over the new radio play I am writing for Sam, EG & Nemo. -
-
Given the ease of getting TeamSpeak & Ventrilo - why spend any programming resources on this?
I'm pretty much "meh" on it if it doesn't mean that something else I want more has to wait - but I would never use it. I hate hearing the voices of other players and typing isn't much of a bother. -
Isotope 167 for Team 1 please - lvl 45 Rad/Dark Def.

In what will hopefully be a bit of serendipity for me - my account just got the 57-month Vet reward of 50% discount on Tailor charges. I know we are likely to get free costume change tokens, but those discounts will be very handy as I tweak the changes on my 60-some alts!

Just a bit puzzled about how Batman's love life is a City of Heroes concern? Not to mention, that Bruce Wayne has been involved with several different women over the years, just not often for any extended period of time.

Quote:Or I could just take the step of getting their Global the first time they spoke. That would be pretty easy, but also would be pretty dang annoying. Or in the case of seeing if someone is an SG mate, looking in the targetting reticle to see if the SG Name is beneath the character name. Pretty lame guessing game IMHO.You could always play guessing games with players too.Always wondering if they are an SG mate,or Friend with a different name.
And Kitsune Knight has a couple of good points which you didn't answer. That seems like a whole lot of names that will be taken up and there are already some people whining that all the "good" names are taken on the popular servers.
/Tells would be a potential issue - what if someone switches "costumes/identities" during a conversation - does the system just translate to send the /tell to the new name? or does the /tell just fail? -
I came to the boards late, and this is really the only board I post to using a handle.
My sister (also a CoH player) & I were trying to brainstorm handles to replace sad, tired, worn-out names we had used just to get on. We tried a couple of on-line dictionaries and came up with the idea of using Latin. Open up a Latin dictionary on-line and scan down thru - and there it was!
Since then, I changed my global in-game to a variant. I also have the name "reserved" on a couple of servers where it was still available.
On another note - as a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, I do have an alternate persona that gets used there and is part of my FB posting name - lots of people in the Midwest know me as Stasi (short for Anastasiia) when I'm playing in the Current Middle Ages. -

Quote:EDIT: Not worth it...
There are easy ways to still retain the security if this feature was implemented.
And are those ways already programmed into the game?
If not, then my answer would still be that there are many, many other things that are higher priority than alleviating this minor 15-20 second annoyance. -
Quote:Honestly? If you're on a team with people who are relying on your SB to the point it's stressful to you, I'd recommend either finding a new team, or taking a breath of fresh air. If the duration is lengthened, there will be a nerf to compensate; a higher endurance cost, or lowered effect.
This times 1000.
As others have also said, buff as you can get to it, but if your blasts or other powers are also useful to the team, not blasting just so you can keep an eye on those blinking icons isn't a good idea.
My philosophy is that each player should be responsible for the performance of his/her own character. Buffs are something to be added as gravy, but should never be *required* by anyone in order to contribute to the team. I understand that SB is really, really good for stone tanks/brutes in particular, and is very useful for just about any other character, but what would that tank/brute be doing without you there?
If the answer is "just standing around until a new kin is recruited", that's not a team to be part of, IMHO. -
Quote:Good for you! Better to try and do this well than to just throw up your hands and do a half***ed job of it.Hi everybody !
Just few words to say that i and 2 friends of mine created a little Podcast about City of Heroes/Villains for french speakers. If you are not against to heard online-program in "Moliere language" about your favorite game, you are welcome on our blog.
Follow the link => http://pcnn.over-blog.com.
And http://pcnn.fr.st/ for the french board...
In hope to see you when you want.
Sincerely yours,
PCNN Team.
PS : Sorry for my bad english, i hate use "google translators", i prefer to try like this, even it's worst ... ^.^
Better English than some posters who are theoretically located in PA, etc., with English as their first language.
I may give it a listen just to see how out of practice my French is these days.
