Invincible Statesman Task Force - Sat Oct 3rd

Freedom Force is entrusting us with some of the most serious tasks imaginable. Having rescued Statesman from both the Praetorians and then Reichsman, our next task is a preemptive strike into Rogue Isles territory. Statesman has returned to monitoring Lord Recluse's plans for World Domination, and our role is to cripple Arachnos' ability to complete their Web system. We begin this endeavor expecting heavy resistance, and likely Recluse's lieutenants will be prepared.

Saturday October 3rd 1:00pm EST (12 noon CST) (10:00am PST)
Meet by Statesman in Independence Port
The range requirement is 45-50

Team One (Invincible):

1. Johnny Taxibot (team lead) - lvl 50 Elec/Energy blaster

2. Eloras L50 All Stone Tank
3. Maurya (lvl 50 energy/electric/electric blaster) or Isotope 167 (level 48 rad/dark/dark defender).
4. Ullikummus - toon to be announced
5. Scheol - FF/ice defender
6. Brother Glacier (lvl 50 Cold/Ice defender)
7. Wacky Weed (50 Emp/Earth Troller)
8. Minnie Taxi

Team Two (Heroic):

1. mscats (team lead) >> MissKittyCat (lvl 50 ill/emp troller) I also have a fire/kin with very alert imps.

2. Ironblade - scrapper
3. Doctor A Science - toon to be announced
4. Gillian Boardman
5. Taxibot Chelle
6. Taxibot Belle - defender
7. Mega Ton - tank
8. Contained Fire

Extras - Possible Team 3
1. Orion Energy
2. Danalla Skysong
3. Golden Speedster

Notes:

  1. This is a task force challenge series, where both teams will seek a reasonably high difficulty level, depending upon the team composition.
  2. We do not generally speed run these adventures, though we do seek to make good time and enjoy being in the story.
  3. When doing a higher level challenge, the team lead needs to be in the zone before anyone enters the mission. Otherwise, the mission difficulty will default back to Heroic.
  4. For team composition, the suggestion is to have 1-2 tankers, and 2-3 blasters for AoE crowd control. However, we will not blindly attempt a difficulty that is beyond the team makeup. When unsure, we begin at Tenacious and gradually increase the difficulty.
  5. For Teams Two and Three, it is asked that there be a tanker for each team to provide good aggro management.
  6. To achieve the Master of the Statesman Task Force badge (MotSTF), the Statesman Task Force must be completed with zero defeats, and no temp powers. If the team composition is good, then we CAN attempt this, though Team One will dial the difficulty back down to Heroic in this case. This will be a team decision on Saturday.
  7. Part of this adventure involves obtaining a device from the Thorn Tree. When the Thorn Tree is defeated, there will be a glowie that MUST be clicked by a tanker. The tactical reason is that the tanker will be capable of SURVIVING long enough to use the device on Dr. Aeon later in the adventure

I'm in.

Please note, the tower repairmen AI is still funny. They are able to start healing the towers before the players can target them. Best solution is pets or a non-targeted AoE (like a 'rain' attack).

I plan to bring a full set of Shivans as a precaution against the repairmen. The more pets the better, I think, so everyone please bring what you can. Oh, I have a wolf whistle as well !!

I've never done the STF.

If y'all can stand guiding a newb thru it, I can bring either Maurya (lvl 50 energy/electric/electric blaster) or Isotope 167 (level 48 rad/dark/dark defender). I bow to the wisdom of the team which I should bring.

I've never gotten Shivans before either, but I can do that this week since it seems it would be helpful. I may have a War Wolf Whistle and/or a Snowbeast laying around somewhere as well.

Team 1 please.

I'm SO sorry that I haven't been to many of these in the past few weeks, not even to wish everyone well. But I'll be there this Saturday to help out if anyone needs me, I promise! Maybe if there is any room on one of the teams, I can come along! I'll go get some Shivans too, just in case. This will be really exciting, I can't wait!

Out of curiosity... what difficulty do you run as "invinciable" since the difficulty ratings are different now.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

New people are perfectly welcome. We'll talk tactics in advance, so that nobody is struggling for how to work in the team.

Under the former difficulty ratings, "Invincible" would cause all enemies to be +2 level. So under the new system, we merely set enemies to be +2 level. The difficulty of Archvillains is not affected this setting.

Aww were not setting it to +4 lol now that would be an interesting STF.

Should be free on Saturday...

Please sign up Wacky Weed to team one (50 Emp/Earth Troller) Unless you need more firepower then i can bring someone with a little more DPS.

Wacky is designed as a crowd controller.

Please sign Minnie Taxi for that last Invincible spot.

Actually, some of you may recall that we completed the Katie Task Force on Invincible. Both teams did Invincible, as I recall, and it was a struggle when Mary returned those last 2-3 times with her purple bosses and lieutenants in tow.

For any task force, Invincible (i.e., +2 levels) is doable when the team is working together. The team is fairly much obliged to work together because people on their own will get worn down.

Hey, I talked to Taxibot Chelle last night, and she wants to come, too. Can you please count her in for the second team? And me too, I'll come if there's room!

For new people, here are my rough strategy notes that I tend to follow for this task force. I'll touch on key details prior to each mission, to make sure nobody is struggling.

-Johnny

Statesman Task Force - General Strategy
Here are comments on what we've found to work well to eliminate defeats on the team.

Note 1 (Initial attack on web parts): We leave two cables at the top of ramp and then go down into the facility to destroy more cables. At the end, we defeat all but a minion from the ambush, and SCRAPPER will taunt (without defeating) the remaining minion to prevent second ambush. Then TANKER will aggro Arbiter Sands, we bring Arbiter Sands down right away, and then Exit as soon as possible.

Note 2 (Capture Dr. Aeon): TANKER on point. Johnny has good success with targeted, rolling holds on the AVs to prevent their being able to "nova." Once all four AVs are defeated, one person to locate the exit, and rest of team departs via Ouroboros.

Note 3 (Thorn Tree): Stealth to tree chamber avoids villain ambush. Thereafter TANKER on team point; first to clear the Circle of Thorns, second to clear the vines. For safety, everyone keep tight on TANKER and avoid line-of-sight with tree (top half of map is safe from tree). When the tree is defeated, TANKER MUST BE the one to click glowie. The tactical reason is that the tanker will be capable of SURVIVING long enough to use the device on Dr. Aeon later in the subsequent adventure.

Note 4 (Second attempt Capture Dr. Aeon): TANKER on point. After each Security Chief is defeated, wait for ambush. For Dr. Aeon himself, TANKER again on point, give TANKER 2-3 seconds to establish aggro on Dr. Aeon, then followed by TANKER liberally applying the Power of the Thorn, which causes Aeon to be defeated quickly.

Note 5 (Stop Lord Recluse): Arachnos Flier on 20 minute respawn starting when first person enters mission. TANKER on point to clear enemies. Johnny to pull AVs one-at-a-time, with team set to run if more than two AVs approach. For end game, TANKER+SUPPORT on Recluse, and remainder of team on the pylons. Pylon order of Red>>Blue>>Orange>>Green. When time comes to defeat Recluse, use Red inspirations and pound on him without stopping for anything.

Looks good Johnny sounds like pretty standard Tactics for STF but for anyone that has yet to partake in one this is helpful. And depending on what Ullikummus is bringing so far its looking like im the only Tank. So I guess i have my work cut out for me lol. This should be fun and I think we should try it for MoSTF. Looking forward to fun.

Team Two needs a tank. This tf will be impossible to complete without one.
