Quote:You can start listing the MMO sequels that outdid the original anytime you like.Plus, they registered "CoH2" last year, so that's likely on the way.

For soloing, Sonic/dark runs circles around a Dark/sonic.
-
It suffers from a damage stand point due to the extra mitigation it does, but the extra mitigation(end drain) is near pointless in the game depending on the situation. In a handful of situations it great, but outside of that it's not even noticeable since a dom, or controller already has the mob mezzed.

Quote:End cost isn't worth the buff so it becomes a situational power, which can be countered with a yellow.Any particular reason for Conserve Power instead of Focused Accuracy?
I was always told that Focused Accuracy was a must as it helped you see stealthed opponents.
Shockwave can cause issues with sets that have a power which benefits from having people around the scrapper. /sr has no such power. It's a near "I win" alpha strike for my Claws/regen and I can't imagine not taking on my Claws/sr. -
+1. And with /sr getting you at the def cap, I feel little need to do any combo outside of AV. It's what I'm aiming for on my DB/sr and DB/elec. Well, my DB/wp as well, but I hardly play them. The first two have been more fun.

Quote:It is. And she looks perfectly healthy to me. Normally. As in not in that costume that comes across something Cinemax would show.I really hope that isn't the actress playing WW. She looks like she ate a meal once, about 4 years ago. WW is a warrior and should look like one. This girl looks like she just escaped from a refugee camp.
I have a strong feeling this show will not be for me.
Somewhere there is a credible TV/movie vehicle that will do the character enough justice that the product as a whole succeeds. Too bad this doesn't look it and since this mostly looks like previous failed attempts by NBC, nobody else to going to try it for some time. For now, I can enjoy the animated version and know that once this bombs, and it will, I can look forward to another attempt sometime in 2020+. -
If you are waiting for EM to be a scrapper set, be glad you are sitting. My guess KM is the devs giving scrappers EM without doing so. Both will be ST heavy with low AoE. Energy is more burst based as where KM is going to be more DPS based. I think a happy middle ground is KM on a stalker since BU replaces PS and CS can recharge BU just like it recharges PS on a scrapper. While my highest KM is 12 so my opinion is narrow on the feel of the animations, I can't stand TF's animation and KM so far flows rather well. I will say both sets have a throw away power, but I can at least on some level see taking Repulsing Torrent to be used how I tend to use Shockwave on my Claws/regen. Stun? Meh.

I don't need numbers from a website. Virtue and Freedom go red every night even during normal gaming time. The last time I think I could say that was when Cov/i6 hit. Expansion packs = a good thing.

ItÂ’s a hilarious film, and while it has its warts, it holds up well to both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Quote:Their movies have been pure cult classics versus blockbusters. Paul got a good review on one of the few sites I care about. The real question is if this, like their geek-tastic interview at the AV Club, is enough to entice me to see their upcoming movie Paul. Because its trailers and previews haven't...

Except for Posi supposedly saying porting sets is done.
Quote:I wouldn't hold my breath -- Posi stated at the Bay Area Meet & Greet this past year that all of the powerset proliferation is done. That's not to say their plans couldn't change in the future, but at least as of that night when he made the comment, he seemed (to me, at least) to be very definite about that. -
Quote:Mind lets you sit back and fire at your leisure as well. If they are teamed with a Elec dom, the dom is doing energy damage so they can light Oil Slick as well. I really do need to make that Tsoo based Mind/ta someday.I have an Illusion/TA at 50. In my opinion, Illusion is the best primary for TA . . . even if TA isn't the best secondary for Illusion. Phantom Army let you stay back and fire your debuff arrows at your leisure. TA has fairly high -Resistance (30% from the combination of Dispersion Arrow and Acid Arrow), which help PA do more damage. And if you are not at Perma PA, Oil Slick Arrow (with Fireball to light it from the APP) is great to fill the gap while waiting for PA to recharge.\
Whatever your primary, make sure you choose either Magic or Tech as your Origin . . . those origin powers will light the Oil Slick. Otherwise, you will have to wait until the APP powers to light it, or rely upon a teammate or get lucky and have Phanty target it.
Quote:Even if you are going /TA I'd vote taking Elec/ to match your friend. Between two sets of Conductive Aura, Chain Fences, Static Field and Gremlins there will be no group that can you since they will never have any endurance. Elec/ may be damage light but the amount of tools you get makes up for it. Paired with /TA that'd be quite the swiss army knife IMO. Even though the Gremlins will wake up everything in a Static Field patch it is still can either be a good area denial patch or used offensively to sap a groups end quicker.
Hmm now I'm going to have to make ANOTHER Elec/ troller to test that out. -
Quote:I didn't include it in my ramblings, but facing +1s isn't really worth talking about either. At +0, you fight +0/+1. At +1, you fight +1/+2. In other words about half the time there's a difference in mob level. If the mission is set at +0, it's boring. Period.Super Sidekicking doesn't put everyone at the same level. It puts people at or above the mission owner's (or team leader when no mission is set) level to the level of the mission owner. People below the mission owner's level are set one level below the mission owner.

Something that has KB might not play as well with Elec compared to other sets due to things being KBed out of the PBAoE aura. Since Elec is lower damage(yes, I know they are a dom) you might want to go something that is more higher in terms of damage. I was raking my brain and nothing was coming up, but I think a Mind/ta would be sick with Elec. Mass Hyp, debuff, debuff, debuff, dom runs in and goes to town on the mob. End drain added to /ta's debuffs and that much control and mobs will be rendered useless.

Quote:My opinion of Doms without some sort of Illusion control is likely mod fodder. A Dark/dark blaster is pretty much the number one build I can't roll right now.No more? But Dominators don't have the most EVIL control set yet?!?! I don't care if it doesn't build Dom... Dom's have a secondary set to do that. Leaving Dom's hangin' withought Illusion. I will probably never level one now. Can't make one Ebil enough. (sadface)
Woudln't have minded Blaster's getting dark and Def's getting Fireblast. Brutes and scrap's getting the beta brute version of Ice Melee.... Gad!! There's still tons of fun we could have. Why?!?! Why stop?!? It makes no sense.... -
Quote:Partly seems odd because they could port more sets. Partly makes sense because I think they have zero desire of porting "everything" like Posi said they were going to do. They can make new sets that give enough of the same aspects to another set that it becomes a pseudo port, ie tanks get WP, but not Regen(which I can't see working) I have noticed ports haven't happened at the rate they were so I was curious if/when they were going to do more. I guess they just assume since people can play on guy on blue, or red side that they can just drop the porting idea. So I guess I'm not surprised, but one more round of ports would have been nice.I wouldn't hold my breath -- Posi stated at the Bay Area Meet & Greet this past year that all of the powerset proliferation is done. That's not to say their plans couldn't change in the future, but at least as of that night when he made the comment, he seemed (to me, at least) to be very definite about that.

I have a Kin/rad defender and it's a total flying by the seat of your pants playstyle. Because of that, a number of people will write it off. the -def helps you hit, but as mentioned I don't see -def being that valuable of a debuff in the end. The AoEs do help out the set, but I only take two of them and the nuke. I skip the one with some KB mostly due to the long animation. One good thing about Rad is that it takes the -res proc.
Ice/kin. What little bad I can say about Ice, Kin pretty much covers it. The AoEs have longer recharges(Hello Kin), but they do blaster level damage. Let that sink in. It's probably the only Kin combo I haven't played to a decent level that I probably should have.
Sonic/kin. Stuff just dies. I got a level 50 Kin/sonic and it works rather well. Shout's animation feels long and I loath the sound effects for it, but that's about the only bad I can say about it. Of the 7? Kins I'm currently playing, it's most likely the best/most fun one I'll have at 50 outside of my Fire/kin corr and controller. This considering all of them being 50. So far only two of them are.
Dark/kin. Defensive with fast recharging AoEs, which only get made faster. The issue? Dark is so DoT based it really takes away the oomph that Kin tends to give sets. Look at it this way. T.T. has a DoT time of 7.1 seconds. It recharges in 10. With slotting and Kin you would be using T.T. again before the first one does it's full amount of damage. Nightfall is at least better due to the 2.8 DoT second time. If you want something outside of the box in terms of Dark blast, pair it with something that does -res and abuse damage procs. Damage procs are not buffed by +dmg. Something like a Traps/dark defender is just begging for proc abuse.
I'm probably missing one, but those would be my best picks outside of the OMGWFTBBQ!!! of Fire/kin. -
The second part could have been summed up in how super side kicking has changed making teams. Before it I could go on Freedumb, grab 7 random people, and blow through content at +2. I could do this without fail. Super side kicking feels like putting on training wheels for teams. I have a love hate relationship with it. Gladly the new diff settings happened. When was the last time somebody got on a team that was set at +0 and said "Boy, that was fun and challenging." Exactly. +0 = zero fun. You honestly go play a game who's sole purpose is entertainment and you play at +0? O.o I honestly can't remember the last time I did a TF that was done on anything higher than +0 that I wasn't leading. It's been ages.

More has changed in slotting due to ED and IOs vs. anything else. If Emp was good for you back then, it works now. Emp is still the number one in demand set in terms of the common player base(in vast part due to "healers" being the ideal).
From my own personal stand point, only the end game stuff could be considered hard and that's vastly because it's new. Anything outside of that has been dumbed down to where you really have to have some major malfunction to go on for a team to fail. TFs at least had the potential to be hard. Now, it's "Let's do this as fast as possible while facing even level mobs." Yes, I miss the days of starting a Posi TF and being actually level 10, or being on teams while facing +4s and it not being a farm. It's like the devs think the player base needs it's hand held from 1-50. And yes, if you get on one of my teams the diff setting gets bumped as high as the team can handle. I get far more compliments on the exp than complaints about how difficult the missions are. I do believe I ran a team at +4 that was under level 20, so nobody was even using SOs and that was a gloriously fun team to be on. -
