Suggestions for this build?

If anyone read it, this is the scrapper flying Claw/SR build my friend came up with.

The focus was defense, with some general buff all around the usual reduced recharge time.

Thanks

Hmmmmmmmmm

Defense is way to high (Can normally do fine with 45% Melee, Range, AoE). And attacks are really badly slotted

Were you looking for help/improvements on the build?

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Yes please.

But I must keep fly as a movement, so I need hover or air superiority. Personally, I would be probably happier with a more offensive build.

P.S. Inf is of no concern I have like 3 billion imf right now, and can get more.

Half the attacks are badly underslotted, which will just not get good results. Endurance will be a severe problem with little or no cost reduction in any attack except Focus. A Cardiac alpha might mitigate it, but that would mean taking up your alpha slot to patch a problem that's pretty easy to fix directly.
Ranged defense is too high, and AoE defense too low. 45% is the goal.

Before you get into smaller optimization changes, these larger issues should be fixed to make the build functional.

I took your build and mucked around with it. This one will be much better balanced for offense with a very good recharge.

Any particular reason for Conserve Power instead of Focused Accuracy?

I was always told that Focused Accuracy was a must as it helped you see stealthed opponents.

DoctorWhat's build is far from optimal too.

He has 8 LOTG sets, which is a waste INF because of the rule of 5's. At least he didn't use 8 LOTG global recharges.

Crushing Impact's 6th slot bonus is not very useful; a proc would be much better.

Elude is over-slotted. You could probably skip it completely.

Some people don't use Shockwave because its an AoE knockback. It can still carry decent sets, like Positron's Blast for recharge bonus.

Slash is not needed. I believe the optimal attack chain for Claws Scrapper is Follow Up -> Focus -> Eviscerate, which requires perma-Hasten levels of recharge. Don't be intimidated by that. You have Quickness, which is equivalent to 2 purple sets. The Spiritual Alpha can also save you INF because it counts as just over 30% global recharge at tier 4. You definitely need Hasten in your build if you want to do real Scrapper DPS, and not be out-DPSed by Defenders and Tankers.

Gaussian's is a great set for positional defense users. Focused Accuracy is a good place to put it.

Combat Jumping stacks with Hover for added defense. I'm not sure if you will need it, though. Slotting your powers, Hover, Weave, adding a Gaussian's set and Steadfast 3% defense should put you at or near the soft-cap, leaving the rest of your slots for recharge bonuses.

Other than that, it would be nice to know the goals for your build. If you just want to hit the soft cap and do the DPS chain mentioned above, that should be fairly simple. I'll try to post a skeleton build for you tomorrow if you haven't come up with a better build by then.

Okay. The idea was to soft-cap defense, then go into DPS. I LIKE Elude. It makes for a great O-Shite power, and would like to keep it. I need to keep fly, it is a necessity for this toon's concept, and I only have a little over 2 years of vet, so I am stuck with hover or air superiority. I am okay with dropping slash.

P.S. Cost is NOT an issue, I will get it eventually, I aim for the end results and want the best for this toon.

Elude won't do anything for you, except against critters with to-hit buffs. SR has capped defense debuff resistance, so you can pretty much ignore debuffs. To-Hit buffs are generally so large that Elude would barely reduce their chance to hit you. Trust me, you will rarely use Elude and you won't notice a difference when you do use it once you have a good build. Keep it if you have the room for it, but don't put any priority on slotting it.

It was late at night, I was kinda tired, but I still wanted to throw the thing up.

**Yawns**

Excuse me.

Trust me, you will rarely use Elude and you won't notice a difference when you do use it once you have a good build. Keep it if you have the room for it, but don't put any priority on slotting it.
Perhaps that is true. I will stay open to the idea.

End cost isn't worth the buff so it becomes a situational power, which can be countered with a yellow.

Shockwave can cause issues with sets that have a power which benefits from having people around the scrapper. /sr has no such power. It's a near "I win" alpha strike for my Claws/regen and I can't imagine not taking on my Claws/sr.

I am in huge favor of Shock Wave, I find it works very well.

As promised, here is a Super Reflexes skeleton build. For your build, swap in the Claws set and put Gaussian's somewhere else, like in Focused Accuracy.

There are other ways to hit the soft cap. This just shows a simple and an efficient method that can be done using any melee power set. Instead of using the set bonuses, another pool power (like Stealth or Maneuvers) can be used to reach the soft cap. I'm not suggesting that you build your build directly from this. You may want the powers at different levels.

In your case, Hover can be stacked with Combat Jumping and you won't need the set bonuses. You may need more defense IOs in your toggles to reach the soft cap. Start with one more LOTG in Weave after slotting Hover.

Here's a build with Hover, Fly and Elude. Included Shock Wave, would need further revisions for including Eviscerate. Include Slash as it is a place to slot 5 Crushing Impact for the recharge and can take an Achilles -resist proc. It's also not an inexpensive build including both the Glad +3% def and the Fury of the Glad -resist proc, but you do keep saying cost is not a concern. With the Spiritual Core Paragon Hasten recharges in 109 seconds (and 121 sec recharge sans Spiritual), with an Elude down time around 60 seconds with Spiritual.

Focused Senses has +perception included, by itself it's more than sufficient in PvE. In PvE one of the main benefits to Focused Accuracy is it offers To Hit Debuff resistance when compared to Tactics (the usual other option for +To Hit), while Tactics offers other mez resists and effects all your teammates in the area. FA is an end hog and most high end builds will hit vs +4's without needing the To Hit and Accuracy buffs, particularly if the build includes a Kismet +6% somewhere. PvP might be another matter as far as vs stealthed player foes (Focused Senses also helps there), but my PvP experience is very limited so I'll leave that for others to answer.

I wouldn't worry about /sr in pvp... that's a place you probably won't wanna go.

As for FA, it's not really needed for the power itself so much as the gaussian set you can put into it. This is especially true when you have a FU running pretty much all the time, boosting your tohit further. The only possible problematic point would be having enough accuracy for your first FU hit, which luckily, (at least, in this build) you would have.

In this build, I was trying to get to 2k hp, while still having over 46% def m/r/a, enough recovery, and enough recharge for FU -> Focus -> Slash
This is as close as I could get. It does have the recharge for the chain, and it has plenty of recovery, but it only sports 1953hp, with 314% regen, and roughly 20% res to s/l.

Mind you, I've never actually played a claws/sr, and I've only ever leveled up a toon using either one of those sets to the 20s at most. This is just me and mids.
