I would say science. He would have been strong with just his training. But he's SUPER strong because of what he's injected into his body.
-
Team TP is nearly worthless, that's what I'm trying to tell you. For what you want to do, especially. And having it, plus Flight, means that you've got three power picks that could be going to something that makes your build better. Do you see what I'm trying to tell you?

Hey! Don't you dare age me a year! That's all I've got until I turn "old!"
-
Depends on what you're looking for (single-target versus AoE), but Super Strength is usually up there in the damage capabilities. Rage helps a lot with that.
However, if I was looking to build a higher damage tank, starting with the secondary, there's only two that I would really stay away from: Ice Melee (good for mitigation, but lower on damage) and Energy Melee (good single-target [but not great], piss-poor AoE). Everything else is pretty good. -
This is the best idea I've ever seen here.
-
This is highly variable, and we can't tell you. We can GUESS how much it will cost, but I'm not sure how much that would do for you. Your build (the worse of the two, in my opinion) with all of the purples that you decided to go with, could cost in the billions. Mine might cost a few hundred million. However, it's dependent on you to place lower bids in the auction house and wait.

Quote:Okay, see, it's things like that that would have been helpful BEFORE I made this. That's what I was asking for.its ok, first of all, i wont be using hasten, second, i dont use aim, third, y do u have lvl 40 enhancments on there????? 4th, sniper blst is my favorite attack, how much will this 1 cost, my other does alot more damage
1) Why don't you use Hasten? If you want a lot of recharge, it's the easiest way to get it.
2) Why don't you use Aim? It's a decent damage buff, and you can make sure you hit stuff.
3) Snipes are good for what they do, but they're not great attacks. You shouldn't be using it all that often, unless you really need to pull.
4) I used level 40 enhancements because it puts in the max level enhancements of the set. Some sets don't go up to 50, but that doesn't make them worse. The enhancement values might be a little lower, but the set bonuses make up for it.
I took a look at the build you provided, and it's a lot worse. Your set bonuses are again all over the place. The sets that you do use you don't have enough in the power to get the bonuses you probably want, you're underslotting key powers for their effects, you've taken and slotted powers that you don't need, you haven't slotted Stamina, and again you've got two travel powers for seemingly no reason.
I honestly don't know what you're doing, and why you're doing it. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to understand why you'd ask for help, and then not actually take it. -
Quote:Same rules will apply there, from what we've heard. First one to get a name gets it. I'm not sure how much of a "mad dash" there will be, but I'm sure that some people will go there to get some names. But if you're not intending to use that server much, having a really great name there won't do you much. This may be wishful thinking, but with the new VIP server, will there be a change in how naming is handled on that server so folks can get whatever name they desire?
Otherwise its just going to be a mad dash to lock in the names that everyone wants. This is a great opportunity to start over.
I'll probably use it to move characters I don't play much anymore off of their home server to free up the names there. -
Quote:Eh, I'm not too worried about that. Unless they specify, I generally don't include any purples, and try to limit the number of high-influence IOs that I use. Sure, some recipes are fairly expensive, but most aren't worth 2 billion. I generally assume that people will work on the builds over time, and will be able to get there without too much farming. You haven't specified how much Inf you have to pay for the enhancements you'll need for any build that Aett_Thorn comes up with. What's your budget? Should Aett spend the time to make a multi-hundreds of millions or even a multi-billion Inf build when you only have 5 million?

Okay, here is the ranged/melee damage build. High on recharge (71.3% when Hasten is down, 141% when it's up), but low on defenses. Let me know what you think. Any other forum-goer is welcome to improve upon it as well, as I'm not as familiar with Blasters.

Used to see this all the time NA-side, but don't much any more. I think people just got tired of it.

Quote:Understood. Doesn't make it any easier for me to work it for him, though. I mean, let's say that I give him a build that is soft-capped to range, or something like that. But he doesn't care about defense, he just wants to shoot stuff fast. Recharge would have been better for him, and I could have built that way, had I known.Dual_Hammer sounds like he really hasn't spent much time playing with his characters to know how to respond to you.
Basically, if I'm going to pimp out his ride, I'd like to know that he has an aversion to the color red before I paint it. -
Quote:Yeah, this helps me not at all. What do you consider "balanced"? Do you just mean in terms of primary/secondary powers? Or do you want it to be able to do anything and everything?Any thing thats needed, i want to be balanced, but dont mess with the incarnit stuff.
What do you plan on using this character for? What is your general playstyle with him/her? Basically, give me some sort of direction to go with.
Is your build okay? Sure! Could it be made better? Definitely! Do I just want to throw random IOs on him and give him to you saying that he's been improved? No. -
Saw the build you PM'd me earlier. I'll tweak it tomorrow at work, if that's alright. My main question is: what do you want to go for? Defense, Recharge, Damage, what? What is the main thing that you want to overcome with this build.
My other question is, what powers can be done away with, and what powers must be kept? For instance, is there a reason that you have two travel powers? Are you set on an ancillary pool at all?
Things like that can help me make YOUR build a bit better, but still keep it your build. -

The costume designers are sexist. I would think it was obvious.
But honestly, I have no idea why they don't get that option. They really should. -
Usually it has to do with certain pieces being renamed or moved to a different section. The only costume piece that I know of that's been completely removed are the "Malaise" pants. Search around in the tailor, and you should be able to find everything again.

Word on the street is that Doms will be getting a new set sometime after I21, basically as a repayment for not getting any powerset proliferation in I21. Whether that is Dark Control, some sort of Dark Illusion set, or something else is yet to be seen. It's also not clear whether or not Controllers will get it, too. Just keep in mind though that they just got electric control recently.

Cyclone, thanks for reminding me:
I'll also be making a Dark/Ice Blaster, with the dark blasts colored like water. -
-
This is still bugging me as well. None of what he is saying makes any sense to me about this. He's thinking of deleting a character to make a new one with the new powerset, but doesn't want to respec now because they take time? I really don't get what one has to do with the other. Then he's mad that he doesn't know how many slots he'll need for the powers in the new sets, when his current build schemes don't make any sense anyways.
-
Yeah, can't say I'm too thrilled about that. The set bonuses are very "meh," and +Res won't do too much for Defense-based sets.
