Quote:Off topic, but do you go out of your way to spell like you do, or does it come naturally? It's impressively consistent. The quoted section implies that you would have a better grasp of mainstream standardized spelling (being called in from a notable distance away to handle what sounds like a corporate IT situation does imply a certain intelligence) than what you use here.... >_< i wont be able to get back to a comp for a day or 2...(new guy screwed up comp system up north... so i am flying out in about 2 hours have to pack and get to airport now.)
Again, your spelling, or rather misspellings, are very consistent which, to me, implies that you use a set of rules about how to misspell words. It just seems to me that you would be putting more work into typing than if you had simply spelled correctly. I have known people who purposely misspell as many words as they can in internet posts (each for different reasons), but I just can't see the value in being purposely more difficult to understand.
Perhaps I'm reading too much into this and English is not your primary language. Perhaps you just enjoy typing that way. Whatever the case, I'm curious. -
Shields and SR have Psi protection? I thought most Psi attacks were positionally untyped.

Quote:You can get by without immob protection, once you get Burn. Just make sure to fire (pun!) it off on every mob, or as often as it's up. For the immob protection. Right. Oh yeah, it does damage too.I am finally trying a Fire Armor Character for the first time, and so far I like it, it kind of reminds me of playing my DA or my Elec Characters and yet and the same time not the same, I do have to admit I am a little worried about trying care of a few "holes" in the armor. KB isn't so much a problem, but for the first time i get the feeling that I might have to take CJ. Or can the life of a Fire Armor AT be okay with out CJ?
<.< I only ask cause I can't really think of to many things off the top of my head that the red side throws at you that Immob yeah to death, and yet if I remember right more so on the hero side?? -
Enjoying it so far. Got to 14 this afternoon. Went ahead and bought a Steadfast Res/Def IO (slotted in hoarfrost for now) it's nice running around Steel Canyon one Luck away from the S/L softcap. In teams endurance is ok because I can slow my attacking down to keep from bottoming out, but solo it's rough.
I have Stone Fists and Stone Mallet, along with both vet attacks and brawl. Chilling embrace helps a lot, but I'm waiting until later to get Icicles.
Looking forward to Stamina, Glacial Armor and SOs. -
This looks like a fun combo. High defense to the most common damage types, PvE, Energy Absorption to deal with the end heavy secondary, lots of mitigation in the secondary to help get the primary into its happy place, and heavy damage (ST at least) once the mitigation is no longer necessary.
Is Tremor+Icicles enough AoE? What should I look for/avoid with this pairing? I'm planning on picking up Weave. And Hasten, definitely Hasten. Fitness until it becomes inherent, or can I skip it once I get EA?
I haven't played a tank in ages, how's the new Bruising working out? -
I've recently gotten back into my Elec/Fire brute and he hit 40 recently. I feel pretty tough already, but I'd like to move him toward indestructible. I'm currently running with Tough and the set toggles on a mostly-generic IO build (exceptions being Call of the Sandman: Chance to Heal Self in the ST attacks, FF:+Rech in Thunder Strike, -KB IOs, and a Kismet: +Accuracy, and the occasional multi-aspect IO to save a slot).
Should I build for Recharge to get Healing Flames up that much faster, or should I focus on Defense to layer with his resistance and regeneration (via Healing Flames)? If defense, Melee or S/L? I probably couldn't do better than ~25-32% defense on an affordable build (i.e., no Purples or PvP IOs). I'd think even about 15% defense would make a big improvement.
It seems to me that I'd get more Impact for my Inf with a focus on Defense, as I'd have to hit really high levels of global recharge to significantly improve Healing Flames. I'm thinking S/L defense as that will cover almost all Melee and a lot of Ranged and AoE as well, what do you guys think? -
My Elec/Fire brute was 37ish when the changes to /Fire Aura happened, and following that he has become my chief farmer. I run +2/x6 for speed and aoe caps, he's level-locked right now at 40 (went from 37 to 40 in about 2 hours) because I really don't want my first 50 to be a farmer. I'm really hoping to have my Warshade be my first 50, for the irony.
As far as a build? I took the Resistance toggles and passive to cap out my Fire resist, the damage powers, and the AoE attacks from the primary (except Chain Induction--I still dislike that power from when it was bugged). Almost all SO slotting. Attacks 1 Acc/3 Dam SOs and some Recharge where there was room. The only IO in my farming build is the FF: +Rech proc in Thunder Strike and the Kismet: +Acc proc (so I don't have to bump up to 2 Acc/3 Dam in my attacks) in Combat Jumping.
I use a custom AE farm of Fire Melee/Fire Blast enemies set somewhere between Hard and Extreme (but custom picks so they're all 100% experience). Two AoE attack volleys: Build Up>Lighting Rod>Burn>ST attacks on whoever survived and when that's recharging, Fiery Embrace>Consume>Thunder Strike>Burn>Jacob's Ladder/ST attacks on the survivors.
I can reach the ticket cap in about <10 minutes, clear all in about 15-20 if I take occasional breaks between mobs.
I also built a Claws/Fire brute that runs this same farm, it's only 24 at the moment, but it runs it pretty fast. 15-30 minutes to clear all and hit the ticket cap (running at +1/x6 until his slotting improves). -
I don't want to out anyone's niche, but perhaps someone could explain this to me.
Rolling in the 10-14 bronze at AE, I got a level 20 bi-aspect IO from a certain ToHit Buff set with three pieces including a perception proc. I almost summarily deleted it. Low level range, meager bonuses (Small S/L Def, meh Regen); I figured it'd probably sell for a few thousand crafted. But I kept it because had never checked it out at the market. I'm glad I did. Last five sales? All 9 digit figures.
Wait, what?
So I crafted it. Salvage cost me less than 10k. Now I'm waiting for the modest list price to fill. When it does, I'll have more inf on one character than I have ever had on my whole account in 6 years. Maybe I should check the recipe prices.
But I still don't understand: How is this being used that it is so valuable? -
Yeah, it seemed like a good idea, especially since my luck at the Recipe Slot Machine is...bad. I could probably supply a small army with complete Sleep, taunt, and knockback sets. I make more inf buying recipes to craft and sell, generally.
Is there a bad bronze roll segment? I try to roll mostly in the teens and 30s. -
Just out of curiosity, is there much inf to be made as a salvage supplier?
I am finding that for crafting and selling purposes, salvage easily accounts for half (or more) of my cost on worthwhile IOs and it occurs to me someone is probably making a tidy, if modest, sum off of me and others like me.
Normal gameplay aside, with tickets and merits acquiring salvage (especially specific salvage) is trivial, but is it worth it versus rolling for recipes? Much of the recipes I get from rolls are junk, with some selling for 3-12M, versus an almost guaranteed 2ish million per each of 2-4 rare salvage for about the same period of time, but without the work of buying missing salvage and crafting.
Thoughts? -
I didn't see this anywhere, so forgive me if I missed it. My search-fu is weak.
If a critter's powers limit its xp to, say, 70%, will its ticket drop rate also be similarly reduced? -
Spell Check is powerless against a vicious assault upon the English language such as the example in your quote.
However, I suspect someone has tampered with his keyboard. It looks too awful to be intentional, but is just coherent enough to imply an intelligence greater than is suggested by the words themselves. To quote: "It's like he's trying to speak to me, I know it!" -
A very Strong and Pretty tripping hazard.
-
Oh, that's so sig-able.
I never noticed that this mace has a built-in electrical plug. Probably to recharge the strong and pretty. -
Very impressive. I've been around a while (50-something month vet badge), and I've never had even 100M on all (and that's a lot, trust me) my characters combined. Since the market came out, I've never been in want of basic enhancements (up to genIOs and a couple sets) and I have met with limited success in the market, but your comments and example here have inspired me to get back into the market again. Thanks.

Apologies if this results in a threadjack...
I just rolled one of these, as Claws and Fiery Aura are two sets I still have no experience with past level ten. Naturally, I rolled a brute. XD
After about two hours I hit 13, and am happy with it so far. I definitely need Stamina, though.
What else is there to watch for? Anything one should avoid? I assume that when I start IOing, I should focus on recharge and recovery, right? Any other tips from the melee elites? -
Quote:I've tried that before, it works well. It won't fit this particular project though, unless I was the only one who played it; I want a Doppleganger of the player, not a duplicate of the author.make custom group with 1 mob dressed like your character. Ambush with that custom group.
The problem is you might get multiples of that mob ambushing when scaled up
That reminds me: How does the Doppleganger enemy work on teams? Is it just a Doppleganger of the mission holder, or does each member of the team get one? -
That almost makes me wish I stuck with WoW for more than two months.
Almost.
But yeah, something like that. I especially like the condescending talk between temporal versions. I might incorporate a bit of that. -
I'm working on a story that involves a bit of time-travel and has the player meeting himself coming and going. One scene has the player going in to assist a future version of himself and, once successful, shortly finds himself being assisted by his past self.
I'm wanting to use an Ambush to spawn an allied Doppleganger (a trick I once used to call in reinforcements in a previous story, but before Dopplegangers) at a certain point, but that isn't available right now (i.e., "Doppleganger" is not an Ambush option). How can I simulate this? -
I have always wondered why Ghost of Scrapyard always spontaneously died when he got to the BM. I thought maybe it was his despawn point, or something.

Quote:Testing so far suggests all damage, debuff, and mezz (kb/kd, hold, stun, -end, slow, etc.) procs work as they should. The Chance for +End, +Rech, +Heal procs seem to affect either the target or the pseudopet, but not the caster (except against the first target with the +Rech and Self Heal procs). Someone reported that the Chance to Heal proc heals the enemies when it goes off, but I know of no actual testing for that effect. Most procs you put in Jolting Chain will check at every jump. I havent test the Endmod IO sets procs of the FF proc, but I do know the preorder damage IOs work as does the KB damage proc. I know the -end, the hold procs from the Ranged Damage IO sets also work. I havent done enough testing to see if this holds true for any secondary chains that branch off the first one.

I think it helps that I do two things: I put in mild lowball bids (often 80% of the going rate, less if i know there's a price surge on) before I log out; and when it comes to the badges where I can craft different types (like the travel-related ones) I check to see how they sell and pick the ones that perform best. For instance, I'm currently working on the travel IOs, and I found they mostly just sit there, maybe selling one or two a week for certain levels. Of them, Run Speed was the least inactive, so that's what i picked.
I don't mind deleting some that are oversaturated already, but by doing the above I can reduce the loss. The debuff IOs are the worst, so far. -
