  1. Something else I noticed with Fly is that there are vastly more ways to get temp powers for flight than there are for the other travel powers. I think mayhem/safeguard is the *only way other than Siren's Call to get temp super leap. Temp teleport is only available in Sirens and there isn't a temp super speed.

*I purposely left out the Arena temps since they can only be used in the Arena. Also, correct me if there's more available.
  2. One of the things I like about Barracuda SF and the Abandoned Sewer Trial (and to a similar degree, the respec trials) is that they feel different from most other content in the game and the chance of failure makes the success feel more memorable. It forces a team to actually act as a team and not just a bunch of people sharing XP. Reichsman probably has way too much HP for his own good since he can run out of ambushes long before he dies.

But all in all it was fun. Under two hours with 20 something deaths (most in the final room). We got to laugh at R for calling out for ambushes after we had long ago disposed of them. This is also the first time I realized his cutscene has music. It's just subtle enough to sit in the background if you don't have your sound settings turned up high.

This said, a Stalker can Placate a drone from just outside its detection range. Just watch out if there's more than one drone.
  4. What exactly happens when I use this in Drain Psyche? Was glancing at it and was unsure since this mentions target instead of self.

    Drain Psyche

What would be the prefered slotting for this?
  6. I'm going to say put Dimension Shift in your second build. Most would outright tell you to avoid it like the plague but I say it's a specialized move that you should practice with and see if it suits your playstyle. If you don't like it, it's not on your main build. It's essentially a pause button for ambushes or over aggroing. It has higher accuracy than your true AOE hold but you can't effect your enemies at all until Dimension Shift ends which is a set 30 seconds.
  7. I'm curious, what all enhancements are only available blueside and which are only on redside. I know that Mr Yin's store, Hydra Origin enhancements and Crystal Titan enhancements are only blueside. Do any enhancement types only exist redside?
  8. This sounds like a good way to make IOs available at more levels than they are on the market. Would this soley be for IOs or would specialized enhancements like those in Mr Yin's store and the Hydra Origin enhancements be eligible?

  10. Which servers are most known for running Hamidon Raids? For both sides. Also, does anyone know of any screen captured videos of these raids?
  11. It's time for even more delightful fun this Sunday at 5PM EST. This time I'm seeking chaos to wreak havoc! Furthermore, not only would I like to see as many Dominators as we can get away with, I'd like to do this with fewer than 8 members.

    1) Zamuel (Claws/Willpower Stalker)
    2) Kobalt Thunder (SuperStrength/Invulnerability Brute)
    3)
    4)
    5)
    6)
    7)

Edit: Wanting to experiment with a more "chaos" themed team setup (KB, confuse). I doubt that as a first run it would be a Master's but I am open for the attempt if people are interested. It's just that I see this as having a fair chance of death midway through with this not being a static SG and not doing it this way before. Fewer than 8 is to see how spawn sizes work out.
  12. This may change in GR, but as of now Anti-Matter has a lab in outer space:

Tina Macintyre: We've had no luck finding a lead on Anti-Matter's plans, [playername], so we're going to have to go back to the source. I'm sending you back to Anti-Matter's home dimension. I need you to search Anti-Matter's orbital lab for any clue to his next move. Be careful out there, [playername]. I get the feeling that Anti-Matter is a cunning enemy, and a determined one. He won't take kindly to another invasion of his lab.

Yeah, I figured they probably have Vengeance. I'd also assume they have mag 100 Fear protection and slow aggro degradation due to the description and design.

Heh, there's Dev Choice's that a lot of people would zero.

But anyways, it's interesting to see how things are shaping up as far as structure of the submitted arcs. The main thing to watch seems to be mob choices. Map selection is also crucial but some authors may have difficulty due to limited spawn control.

And I got a chuckle about the melee ragequiting over defense debuffs.
  15. More or less self explanatory. Due to End mod not being represented by any other Hamidon Origin Enhancements, I propose that it be connected to the Hami-O based on healing. Similarly, it should be applied to the Positron Exposure Hydra Origin Enhancement and the Titan Kyanite Shard Crystal Titan Origin Enhancement.

Guilty as charged. I was looking for something else and stumbled upon this. People always comment about searching before you post in the Suggestions forum so I was attempting to do that.

Providing a fabulous bonus for four slots would probably tempt many players to take and slot the powers that use them, but should the devs encourage slotting of powers solely for min-maxing?

Also, if these dropped at a rate commensurate with the extant population of characters that can use them (to prevent the dilution of drops), they would be far rarer than purples. I'd guess that maybe 0.001% to 0.01% of characters could slot Intangibility enhancements.
Personally, I'd argue for elevating the quality of several "lesser" sets though that's technically an argument for another thread. One...concern...that I have is that I get the vibe that any set that's not defense, melee, range, or targeted aoe is considered trash/useless by default despite a few set for less universal powers that have very good bonuses.

    Quote:
In fact, I would argue that having Intangibility sets would decrease the usage of these powers in teaming situations. The biggest complaint about Black Hole and Dimension Shift is that they're used at all. If their duration were 50% or 70% longer anyone who used them on a team would run the risk of instantly being kicked.
One of the things I've noticed through use and practice with a semi-static team is the very fact that the moves have use but require the communication you don't get on your average PUG. They are not easy to use but I don't think huge shifts are needed to remedy them.

    Quote:
Because of the nature of Phase Shift and past nerfs, I don't think the devs would consider having Intangibility sets extend the duration (as you implied). Allowing you to slot these sets in PS for the sole purpose of min-maxing just seems abusive.
Phase Shift (all of the Power Pools to be honest) could possibly stand a quick pass to review their strength and purpose within the current state of the game. Abusability is a valid point and it's a concern that should be addressed.

    Antarctic Zone

Rather than make an entire zone, perhaps it would be better to make several instanced maps and have a set story arc or TF/SF that takes place there. In theory, this would allow them to get more milage out of the individual maps without running into the Perez Park problem of no one using the zone.
  18. I would not want a full IO set for Intangibility. However, I feel that all Foe Capture, Foe Intangibility, and Self Intangibility powers should be standardized to the same effects and should take the common Intangibility IOs. Furthermore, I think it would be best if they worked like Knockback IOs in that they simultaneously increase magnitude and duration.
  19. Wouldn't be surprised if it took 50 or so battles. Took me several hours over DXP to get it to switch factions. Luckily a few people stuck their head in over time. It's possible that it takes so long to switch control as a "benefit" of building up Bounty when the zone is empty. It's one of two places in the game where you can consistantly get SOs that are lower than lvl 22 (Siren's Call minimum range is lvl 20).

An interesting advantage it has over other drop powers is that since it requires an enemy as an "anchor" it can be used by targeting through your teammates. This means that a teammate like a Stalker who has stealth can go around a corner and target an enemy then you can click their name to Wormhole whatever enemy they chose.

Pretend you're a Stalker and target problem mobs like Sappers. My Ninja/Storm tends to do that on the semi-static team I'm in. Afterwards, throw them at bosses/EBs/AVs due to the ST damage.
  23. InfamousBrad and peterpeter make good points while konshu makes an interesting counterpoint. However, on that counterpoint I offer up my own experiences. There are times when I can't pull off an idea the way I want to due to the resources available. However, there's an interesting amount you can get with small changes (recolors, creative map use, etc). Horatio's comments on the Barracuda SF and the Khan TF seem to show that konshu is on point that things are developed as outline -> mechanics -> actual story.

Thing is, I think that the concept of "low hanging fruit" has sizable merit and Dark Astoria may be the crux of the argument in favor of that. The zone is already quite atmospheric so the design at its base doesn't need changing. A dedicated TF or even a Jim Temblor style contact who doesn't require a prior introduction that takes places 100% inside DA with only one "made from scratch" map for the finale would be good for the zone. While it's easy to understand why we don't have maps like Skyway and Baumton's airports, it seems odd not to have more reskinned versions of the offices with more wallpaper textures or warehouses with evil factory equipment.

Not addressing this feels like a missed opportunity to build upon the lore of the game. A lot of the overworld is ripe for further expansion and exploration.
  24. I'll vouch for Defenestrator since I don't feel he'd lie and because I also came dangerously close to an accidental matching name on a character in one of my own arcs. However, while I didn't catch it when I first ran the arc, the names are begging to be nitpicked, despite the fact that on its own "Buffy" works well as a name for a ditzy cheerleader.

On the flip side, I think Def was too quick to jump on the fact that it was Venture who did the review. Take a day, look back over it, and prune what you can.
