Grav/energy help

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if Whirling Hands is worth it to take for my grav/energy dom.

Energy assault isn't really big on AoEs so I was wondering if this was a waste or if it delivers decent damage.

Thanks.

whirling hands is a little underpowered, and might be skippable depending on which patron you want to go with, cause soul mastery has dark obliteration which is a target AoE so you dont have to be in melee range for it and it provides -tohit debuffs on what it hits.

my suggestion is to look at the numbers and see what does more dmg, and if your looking for multi target dmg, then get both.

i mostly agree with necro. patrons do provide some really nice targeted aoe powers.

what are you sacrificing for whirling hands? is the question...

i had whirling hands on my earth/nrg from 1-50, but the fact is, he was mostly in boss farms all through that and any AoE power was better than a single target power (with maybe the exception of TF?).

Sorry I haven't replied before now. I got kinda busy.

I am level 20 and my next power choices(at 22) are between Whirling Hands and the AoE hold(I think that's right).

I like Bone Smasher, but wasn't sure if Whirling Hands was a good accompanying melee move for it.

Whirling Hands isn't really worth picking up. It really isn't.

Just grab the AoE Hold instead. You can send me a ingame mail and I can help you with a build later. <3

For your Secondary (Energy Assault) Take: Power Bolt, Power Push, Power Burst, Total Focus and Bone Smasher if you can fit it in.

For your patron take MU: for Ball lightning(Your AoE damage) your Mu pet and shield.

Don't skip power blast either, it's as powerful as many other sets' tier 3 blast nowadays. Really, from energy secondary I'd just skip whirling hands and sniper blast, everything else is useful (on a grav/ power boost is nice to pump up your otherwise slightly anemic AoE control).

I think Whirling Hands is worth picking up. It is AOE damage, it looks cool, but best of all, it is a good global recharge mule if you are going for a lot of global recharge.

Do the immobs in Grav have a -KB in them? Meaning will the KB powers send the foes flying while I have Lift on?

Posted

Gravity is the only control set with an immob that does not grant -KB (TT doesn't count since it is in a blast set, not a control set ). It's the most friendly toward other doms on the team that may use powers like Ice Slick or Earthquake.

And back on topic, I'd suggest getting Whirling Hands for the AoE since it's all you'll pretty much have until patrons.

To elaborate on this point, the -KB is in the holds instead.
